FCA provides incredible opportunities that go far beyond the classroom, including counseling, vo-tech, and other activities that help students grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually. My encouragement is to go see FCA for yourself. Visit the campus, meet the staff, and see firsthand the love, support, and opportunities that are there for students. It's a great school!

I doubt any parents will search FCA on yelp before they send their kids here, but just in case…read more FCA was my detriment as a young person. I was sent here simply for an education. I had an innocent mind, didn't even know what marijuana was. There are PROS to coming here, but the pros only have an effect on the children that actually care. Which 99% of them don't. You, as a child, are corrupted by your classmates, dorm-mates, roommate, etc. The environment is more toxic than that of a public school. Troubled teens are sent here right alongside 7 and 8 year olds. And they mingle. Same sex relationships occur regularly in the dorms. Nothing is done to prevent bullying and peer pressure, though nothing would really help as we all know. But regardless, effort would have been appreciated by many of my classmates. You either get really lucky and placed in a chill dorm with great "dorm parents," or you get slapped into an army based home. And no, I'm not exaggerating. This is from a student's point of view. I did learn to appreciate several things at FCA. My work ethic is top notch because of the work programs they put you through. My school grades were top tier and I graduated high school a year earlier than I was supposed to(though not at FCA). But my mental health after I left? Years to recover. No therapy either, but God has helped heal my mental scars. Don't get me started on self-harm in these dorms. It wasn't anything to walk in on someone pouring peroxide on their arm and seeing multiple cuts on their shoulders or wrists. Thankfully, I have a low tolerance for pain and never indulged in this. Several students complained about this place, and their social media accounts only confirmed their hatred for it. Now I'm an adult, getting married soon, working in the healthcare practice, but to this day FCA has a negative impact on me daily. Parents, please don't send your children here. Even if they are in terrible shape. They will only be encouraged by their fellow peers to continue down the path they are on. I never saw one student recover and change their ways.
