I was at the opening of this fabulous new little restaurant last week, and am looking forward to a return visit soon, and the opportunity to try some of the menu highlights that I didn't get to order the first time. My meal the first time was simply wonderful, and I'd say go for it when you visit this little gem that the Miranda siblings have opened near Chatelain: 'caponata di melanzane' as appetizer, and for main course the signature pasta - strascinati with peperone crusco, and cacioricotta. The peperone crusco is a variety of red pepper, dried and delicious rather like some sort of chip, in this case crumbled and mixed with the salty ricotta to make a creamy and savory sauce for the homemade pasta. My dinner companions got the crema di mozzarella, which was a revelation, and which I'll definitely be ordering next time, and the same goes for the spaghetti alla chitarra with concentrato di cozze, latte all'aglio, olio alle erbe (spaghetti with clam juice, garlic and herb olive oil). The food is superb, achieving a balance between typically regional and zesty innovation. The food is my focus, but I can't avoid also adding that the space itself is a draw - clean modern lines and lighting, a view into the kitchen, which I always love, and can't go without mentioning the irresistibly charming and welcoming hosts. I'm looking forward to multiple return visits to order the dishes I wasn't able to sample the first time around, and highly recommend it to anyone keen on excellent Italian food. read more
