There was definite physical contact made by Mr. Lee in his brash attempt to shove my brother and I out of his office. This was in spite of my parents' specific wishes for us to remain in the office to act as emotional support and to help them with the making of decisions. After having successfully kicked us out of his office instead of fulfilling his role as a lawyer hired to help us make sense of legal issues, Mr. Lee slammed the door in our faces. Also, Mr. Lee did not act in the best interest of his clients because not once did he ask for our input or voluntarily update us with the status of our ongoing transactions. He leaves his clients out in the lobby for hours confused about what is going on with their properties. In our situation, hiring him cost us another $700.00 we had to pay our moving company due to his incompetency as a lawyer. We had no clue when the deal for our old house would be completed so we could move into our new home. He made us feel threatened in saying the other party would sue us - clearly he gives in to the other side's lawyer(s) and has no back bone of his own. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a lawyer and I've since lodged a complaint with the Law Society of Upper Canada. This is a man who takes advantage of recent immigrants who aren't as proficient in English - this allows him to conduct his "business" unethically without their knowing.

Needed to have a will and power of attorney done. Before I go on please be advised that this is truly a discount law firm where the savings are passed on to you. There is no fancy furniture, no large closed in offices nor are there bright reception areas. The clerk I met with was punctual casually well dressed and well groomed. His knowledge of estate law was excellent while discussing my situation our discussion frequently crossed over into family law and real estate law. He was willing to do more that he was only required to do. Heartfelt apologies for failing to remember his name. Remember this is a discount law firm where there are no fancy business cards. Expect only hard nosed advice and straight up no holds barred reality when it comes to family law questions. The only thing I found a little off was that business is conducted in an open air cubicle with people out and about out side the office. If privacy is a concern for you then be prepared to pay substantially more at a fully decked out law firm. If you are like me you know that people around you have their own problems and do not have time to dwell on yours. The savings of 40% are what attracted me as well as the free parking. I was rushed through the meeting with Geoff (my lawyer), he literally told me to "hurry up" signing everything for my purchase because he was "double booked" and his other clients were waiting. I had no time to review anything and wasn't given any opportunity to ask any questions. Then on the day before the closing, I learned there was a key piece of documentation missing in order for my financing to be advanced, which Geoff and his team simply missed. There was a scramble to pull it together, and when I tried to discuss the matter with Geoff, he was abrupt, condescending, and dismissive. Bottom line: If Geoff was too busy to take my business this time, he should have simply declined. Update, August 22: A month after I move in, I get a property tax bill, with a portion of it already overdue. Why is this significant, well, my tax is supposed to be included in my mortgage payment. So I contact my bank and they tell me, "your lawyer was instructed to hold back the portion of taxes for the remainder of the current year, and submit it."
