First off, I have an allergy to Canola oil and a hand full of restaurants don't want to deal with it when I have to see if I can eat at their establishments. This was not the case here. Ash, the owner, went above and beyond to check and make sure I was safe to eat there all while being understanding and compassionate towards my issue. I showed up on a slow night and everyone was very friendly. I was served by Vanshikha who was helpful in explaining any questions I had on the menu, very attentive and courteous. I was pleasantly surprised by the "chips and salsa" as I called them, which was a complimentary crispy flatbread with various chutneys. They also brought out a soup that was very good! I got the Bread Pakoda as an appetizer and it was very flavorful with a good texture. I got the Butter Chicken at a #5 level of spicyness. I am the type to typically order the spiciest thing on a restaurant menu. That said, this had some noticeable spice but was pleasant it was rich, creamy and flavorful with a hint of sweet! I'd probably be at a 7 next time on spice. This was paired with the Bullet Naan which was good texture, flavor and a good amount with enough to take home with my leftovers. I would have taken pictures of the main course, but I was already focused on the food and not my phone. Too good to stop! Haha! As I was traveling, reserved a table on Friday for Saturday's dinner. Got confirmation of the reservation and was looking forward to it, the menu looked very good. The reservation was for 7PM and around 5:00pm, received a notification saying that my reservation was cancelled. No courtesy phone call, nothing. I called them and as I asked why? They told me that they had a private party so they decided to cancel my reservation. When I objected, the person I was talking to hung up. Called back and again was told that they had a private party, they forgot to disallow reservations but now they did, cancelled my reservation so all is well. This is not professional and not a way to run a business, I am utterly disappointed and not planning to ever take my business there. read more

The food was very much to my liking. I've had food at other Indian restaurants, and I found that sometimes there is an excessive use of the spices that aren't blended well. Cardamom and cumin, for example, can be very overpowering, but I didn't find that problem in what I had today on my visit. The spice level was spot on as well. Another problem I find is some of the other places I've gone to is sometimes the food can be quite salty. I did not have a problem like that with today's meal. The service was above and beyond. All the servers and even I think the owners came to my table and asked me how everything was and if I needed to change anything, just let them know. I always had my water filled. Everyone was super attentive. The atmosphere was nice, nothing over the top extravagant, but a simple welcoming, nice decor. I would go again to try another dish. read more

Stopped by on a whim, and am glad I did. My intention was to order butter chicken, but my server Roop encouraged me to branch out a little and I had the Nargisi Kofta. This was excellent, and the garlic naan was as good as I've ever had. I wish I could remember the name of the soup starter, because I would like to order it again. Holy magical food! This is the best restaurant I've eaten at in Fresno. Hands down. Absolutely delicious and special food. The service was stellar, with great recommendations by our gracious and perfectly attentive water, Roop. (thanks Roop!) The Lamb shank melted off the bone - they cooked it for 5-6 hours with an incredibly complex and stunning curry. The chef came by and was gracious and so sweet. This place has amazing service, and staff have a great sense of humor. They can make anything vegan upon request, although I think some of the veg items are vegan by default. I went to the lunch buffet and was happy at the variety of options available. The normal Manchurian cauliflower (?) that you often find at Indian restaurants was reimagined with mushrooms for the buffet, and it was really good but doesn't seem to be on the regular menu. When I go back, I will see if they make it upon request because that stuff was bomb. Also enjoyed the lentil dish and the fresh roti a lot! (They bring out your choice of a fresh roti or naan to go with your buffet experience). As far as environment, everything was clean and beautifully kept. read more

What a wonderful experience...the owners were incredible hosts. We had several gluten free attendees and two lactose free and they we were taken of completely. We were given freshly made gluten free bread and dishes with coconut milk instead of cream. The waitress was so sweet and helpful. The restaurant has a great little spot for photos. We were visiting Fresno and tired of steak, so went to Open Table to see what was available that night. We saw Mirchi Massala had a table available and Indian food sounded good for a change. However, when we got to the restaurant, it was totally empty of other customers. We thought that doesn't bide well, but went in anyway. The server was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the palak paneer pasanda, a spinach and cheese dish, and a chicken curry, the chicken rogan josh. We also had the plain naan, raita, and rice, and gulab jamun for dessert. We decided to try this place for my husband's birthday, and it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered from start to finish was delicious, and we loved the wide variety of veg dishes available. My favorite was the black lentils, which were phenomenal over the saffron rice. Our server, Roop, was lovely and attentive through the whole meal, and the owners also came around to check on us and see how we were enjoying it. We also appreciated the atmosphere, which was both upscale and laid back; the whole meal feel relaxed and not at all rushed. And when we told Roop that it was my husband's birthday, she brought out their delicious cardamom carrot dessert for him to celebrate. We were so stuffed by the time we left that we were barely able to eat any of his cake after we got home, haha. This is the best Indian food I have had in the valley and I've lived here 40 years. Coming from San Jose this is what I really missed and now we have it here in Fresno.
