The process was lovely and the fitter was knowledgeable and nice. Being my first time I was NOT knowledgeable and felt unsure. I left with a pair of Suffolk Prequels. I showed them to my instructor because I had a gut feeling they were not right. She didn't like them either. I returned for a re-fitting. I had the same fitter. We returned to Suffolks again and I ended up with a pair of Suffolk Spotlights. I showed them to my instructor and they were much better. Once I started my class in them, they fell apart VERY quickly and my foot began sinking in them by week 6. The shank split and they were too wide. I should mention I was taking an intro class where most of our exercises were at the barre. Everyone I know from these intro classes was given Suffolks at the Shoe Room. Everyone I know selected a different brand for their second pair. Given the emphasis on Suffolk shoes from this shop, I tried a different place and had a better experience and ended up with better shoes.

I've been in a few times since it's opened and I've never been disappointed. I happened by here today with one of my friends so we could check out the sales. I have to say, I was even more impressed than usual. Service is always great, but even with a store crowded with throngs of bargain hunters, we both received excellent service. The salespeople were extremely helpful despite the crowd. Whenever a store has a sale on, I always feel like I'm going to end up picking through the remnant pieces of clothing that no one else wants, however, today, that was not the case...the sale prices were amazing and the selection was ridiculous. We had a great time shopping and literally had to stop ourselves from buying more than we did. Overall, they carry a great selection of office attire, and great weekend attire as well. Will definitely be going back...there's a reason this place is one of my favourite shopping spots.

I thought I'd give it a shot and see if they'd be nice enough to accommodate me. The manager I spoke to certainly didn't look too pleased that I was exchanging an item instead of purchasing something, however, she made an exception and allowed me to exchange the shirt for the current selling price ($25 dollars less than original value). I quickly picked out something and paid $8 more. Another sales person helped me at the cashier who was friendlier than the Manager. She wrapped the new shirt up nicely and apologized they couldn't do something more. Overall, a pleasant experience at Ann Taylor where you'll receive A-OK service!

Tiger of Sweden fits Ossington nicely as the location and brand both lean towards the young, urban, and trendy. You do need to bring your gold card here though... it does have really nice textures and quality but you pay for it. Right now in December, they have some really great sales. Stepping in the large serene and modern space, I noticed more than half the rack had 30 to 40% off. I was impressed as it wasn't just a token rack in the back on sale. The clean lines and fit of the clothes leans torwards the European slim build and I personally like that. Tiger of Sweden did originally start in menswear but their woman's wear is really nice as well. Think easy pieces that transition from Bay St office to evening in a nice upscale restaurant. The service here is friendly and attentive ... though they do know that it is annoying to hover. They don't do that thankfully. They offer insights on sizing as it is in European sizing. It's not the usual American brand sizing. It was easy to try items on and even though I tried on a few coats among the store, I never once felt the heavy pressure of a sales tactic. Overall, really nice clean modern aesthetic that will last beyond a season in terms of quality & style.

I got so many compliments on dresses I bought from that store, whether I wore their stuff socially or at work. Actually it kind of made me feel like I was one of those glamorous women in Mad Men. I'll always have a soft spot for this place - highly recommend if you're into vintage, pretty dresses. Most of that part of Queen Street has great vintage finds.

There were more adorable earrings, purses, and clothes than I could fathom. My friend and I wandered the store for nearly an hour alternately exclaiming, "cute!" with mouth agape or chatting up the staff. As Erin H mentions, each showcased artist/designer works onsite once a week. The only downside to this is if inquiring minds have questions about something other than the artist du jour personally made, there won't be any answers. And as a person with some hard core metal allergies, I won't buy jewelry unless I am certain that it doesn't contain anything that will make my earlobes swell. However, I was lucky to encounter the artist who crafted the earrings that fell in love with and so, got to take them home with me (and support the local arts). Plus, I was able to be a helper that day (I love being of assistance). As the resident artist handed me a credit card receipt, I was able to pass along this little tip: legal colors only please! I passed on the pink pen handed to me and instead signed with a my own, handy blue plume. For, although I wasn't planning on contesting the charges, anyone could attempt to do so and without either a customer's blue or black ink signature on file, the store might end up "out" some fundage.
