It took me a good 18 month to find/choose Michael's electrolysis after moving to Atlanta. This place is clean, friendly, an their business ethics are casual and efficient. Giving it extra hype because of easy/comfortable parking. Ever grateful for my hair abundance....and for the tools available to keep it tamed. On that note: Electrolysis is not for everyone and it will take time for results/total hair removal to a desired area. Michael's electrolysis understands this and will walk you through it. After 6 rounds of laser hair removal and darkened skin, I was told that electrolysis would be permanent and better for my skin. After 2 appointments, my facial hair is almost gone. I have another scheduled appointment to finish and the results have been amazing. The time spent answering my questions during my initial consultation made me feel comfortable and at ease. I started going back! Little growth during last year off due to COVID. I feel comfortable going here - they take precautions to be safe and healthy. I go in every 4-6 weeks for 15-30min appointments now, as needed. Because my hairs are lighter now, the intensity of the electrolysis is tolerable now. I've tried Laser Hair Removal and I really don't understand the hype after getting electrolysis. If you don't get a deal, laser is lot of money for a very poor results. I think it's more time consuming. Also if you are a POC, tan, or very light fine hairs, it can be difficult of you don't have the right laser in your area, etc. electrolysis is the way to go! I finally made the decision after hearing from my coworker. I had researched Mischael but didn't make the decision until hearing her experience. I wish I had gone earlier. I've been going off and on for about a year now. I would like to remove most of my body hair. It's just my preference. I'm in the process of arms, legs, and underarms. In certain areas I have small "dots" - strawberry legs. I'm hoping that eventually goes away. Depending on hair, hair growth, and area it can take time and money. I would prioritize your areas. The team is great and I primarily see Candace or Heidi depending on my schedule. They are great! read more

Black Skin: I had hairs for years that caused dark spots on my face and neck. I have recently visited Mishael's Electrolysis Center and the dark spots have lighted up slightly after only 2 treatments. I have very very sensitive skin and so yes it is very painful for me, but everyone is different. It does take multiple treatments depending on how how severe the hair is coiled. I will still be going for treatments until the hair is gone. Hair on my chin I feel grew back stronger than what I anticipated. I am also seeing that It may be creating more lighter hairs in other areas with no dark spots, which could be a symptom of getting this treatment. Recommend: Yes, would go again. Follow-up: I have not shaved in two years. Girls, IT IS THE BEST THING EVER. Take every 15-20 minutes of shaving a day and multiply that by all the days in a year. Not the biggest fan of Mishael - she does decent work, but bills herself as a world-famous electrologist that people fly in from all over the U.S. to work with. This is not very accurate (and if so, they're wasting their money). She is average speed and certainly experienced, but quite pushy and very opinionated. For someone who advertises herself as trans-friendly, I was surprised by some of the opinions she voiced when I was in the room. Space feels like an abandoned dentist's office. She only takes cash and checks. Price is a bit high for the service. She is VERY talkative and will bring up controversial topics and then tell you how wrong you are about whatever opinion you have. She will calmly and confidently tell you that you should just "get used to" hair in certain areas that she doesn't think are worth treating (like underarms) and then will pressure you to choose another area. Still, she is experienced and competent. So - I'd go back, but I'd go out of my way to find someone else. read more

I found Mishael's through the recommendation of my hair stylist and also by a coworker. I tried laser hair removal on my face and it just did not work, so electrolysis was my last hope! Ahoova & Heidi are so talented and detailed. Their technique makes it less painful. I am about 1 full month into the process (it takes time!!) and I have noticed fewer, thinner hairs. The more visits I have, the more improvement I see. (Note: you cannot pluck or wax whatsoever or electrolysis will not work for you & the technicians will be able to tell if you do!) You will be a bit red/swelled for 1 hour after the treatment, but it's really not bad & fades pretty quickly. I have to second Jaxxie B. Best. Thing. Ever. I've now had both laser and electrolysis and I can say unequivocally: Forget about laser. Electrolysis is vastly better. I'd already had a full course of laser treatment on my upper lip, and I was supposedly a "good candidate". For a year or so after, things were looking pretty good. Then I started getting dark hairs growing in again, and even with shaving, there was still a shadow there. With electrolysis, there has been absolutely 0 regrowth. Smooth and clear as the day I was born. I wish I'd gone here first and saved myself the money. I also had her do my eyebrows, and it is absolutely wonderful to never have to pluck again. As I've been aging I've been getting these stubborn chin hairs. I waxed and tweezed, but that just created ingrown hairs, which of course made bumps and scarring. Carli is awesome, but honestly the entire staff is AMAZING. I've had 6 treatments and I LOVE not being embarrassed by chin hair or piling makeup on my chin to cover up my scars from ingrown hairs. I'll be honest it gets worse before it gets better, but hang in there for 6-8 weeks and you'll be thanking yourself you did! I am so happy to have found this electrolysis center! A little back story on my situation: I am a 28 year old working woman of Indian descent. I have been dealing with unwanted facial and body hair my entire life. I've spent thousands of dollars on painful waxing and eyebrow threading sessions as well as failed laser hair reduction treatments (as much as I wanted laser treatments to work, it's not effective for all skin types and I'm disappointed that I wasn't aware of this prior to spending so much time/money). I always knew about the process of electrolysis, but didn't think the service was easily available or affordable. I became frustrated with the process of plucking/threading/waxing my face every few days. I hated not being able to wear sleeveless shirts or skirts/dresses and having to resist the urge to shave my legs and underarms to make it to the next wax appointment. I finally decided to give electrolysis a serious try and I'm so glad I did! Starting my electrolysis treatments at Mishael's Electrolysis Center has been one of the most positive and empowering experiences of my life. All of the electrologists are so informative and nice (I've personally worked with Ahoova, Heidi, and Carli). I never feel uncomfortable about being hairy when I come into their office. The prices are much more affordable than I thought (best deal is to book an hour for each treatment). The process is addictive, so I'm slowly working my way down from the face including upper lip/chin/neck, then happy trail and underarms, and hopefully starting on my legs once those areas are complete. I am so glad that I found Mishael's! I wanted to find a good electrolysis place and found this one based on reviews, so I gave it a shot. Have been getting regular treatments and has time has gone on my sessions have gotten shorter and further apart...so it is obviously very effective. Although the treatment is a tiny bit painful (no pain, no gain!)... I actually look forward to my appointments because of Ahoova and Carlie. They have both given me treatments and are very thorough and efficient with the appointment. I have learned that electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal.
