Gave a retainer and only needed representation on a dismissal due to a mutual understanding..they only care about getting that retainer .....and making there job easy as possible...beware of this firm...called several times and he sent another attorney to handle my case anyway when found out I wasn't pursuing called and emailed several times to call back but high call backs when they want the case and also tell you anything to get you in there beware.. read more

Eric will tell you how it is, he is not one to sugar coat reality just to tell you what you want to hear. He is someone you want on your side you do not want him to represent the other party. Let me tell you about my HORRIBLE experience with this "lawyer". Again this is my personal experience. I had a case that had started back in May. I went to Miskells office on a recommendation from someone who uses him for their business. I sat down. Explained everything to him. He told me their fee and I said I would come up with his retainer. I went in not too longer after and paid the $1000 retainer he required. I guess that's where his job ended. He didn't bother to show up to my first court date. The judge, attorney and I all sat around and waited for him. Finally the judge had someone call his office to which they told them their "system crashed" and he's now in a zoom meeting and couldn't come to my court date. Court was rescheduled. My next court date, I guess was moved. And not once did Miskell or his office bother to contact me, rather I had to call and make sure he was actually going to show up this time. That is when I was informed the court date was moved. Third times a charm right? Wrong. My third court date he actually showed up to. For all of five minutes. Told me (without any written offer or paperwork) that the states attorney offered 6 months jail time, threw my charge in my face, and then told me to stop crying when I did cry. I told him I can't go to jail. I have a son at home that I'm solely responsible for, and his reply? "Lots of people in jail have kids". NO compassion, NO empathy, not a single care in the world. After all, why should he care about his clients? Apparently we are nothing but dollar signs. I called his office shortly after court (same day) to try to set up a time to talk to him to try to understand. They told me it would be two weeks before he had time to see me. Right then and there I decided that this man was NOT a good lawyer for me, and I started to wonder about how he treats his other clients. I have now been calling the office for over a month asking for a refund of whatever is left of my retainer. My new lawyer informed me that Miskell really didn't even do anything with my case. None of the paperwork he was supposed. He didn't do ANYTHING except show up to court for five minutes and tell me I should go to jail. And he thinks that deserves $1000? Every time I called (which has probably been about ten times at his point) I'm told someone will get back to me. Which they never do. Today I was told that he feels he doesn't owe me anything of the money I spent for a retainer. He feels he should just keep $1000 of someone's hard earned money for doing absolutely NOTHING. I'm reporting this as far and as wide as I can so no one else gets scammed out of their money by this "lawyer". BEWARE of Miskell Law Center, LLC!!!
