Service was quick and reasonably friendly, although the menu cards were slightly confusing as they had the old Miso paper place mats which had a drinks list which was no longer relevant. However, that glitch over, there followed a reasonably good meal: for starters we had chicken wings in chilli sauce (£4.50) which were generously portioned, although would have been better for being sightly spicier and better cooked (they were cooked but only just). Vegetable Jiaozi pancakes (£3.50) were a better bet, with soft pancakes and crisp vegetables inside. For mains we had Laksa with noodles (£9.30) and Monk's stir-fried vegetables with tofu and rice (£7.20). The Laksa had plenty of chilly but was not as aromatic or fragrant as we've had elsewhere, and the coconut broth was a little heavy. That said, there were plenty of fat juicy prawns and little fish rolls. Monk's vegetables was a safe rather than adventurous choice (there is not a great deal for vegetarians) and perfectly nice, but not outstanding. Overall, there was nothing to complain about, but we left just a little underwhelmed. The total bill with beer and wine came to £36, which is par for the course for this part of London.

Portions were REALLY generous and good value. It's Bring your own bottle with a £3 corkage charge per bottle - so do pop along to the Sainsburys across the road before you visit.
