Lucky for me, it is open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning as I breezed through Joplin. It's a formidable looking fortress but just be brave and open up one of the massive brown doors. (Entrances aren't really labeled.) I ended up entering through the bistro area. The home decor and kitchen items are maybe a bit pricey but not outrageous. The concrete sculptures (which they make on site) are fantastic. If you want to purchase one, just take a pic of it and they will secure one for you at the check out area. There's also baskets by the check out that you can place all your wares in and no one else can shop through them. But back to the sculptures...they are pretty reasonable and of good quality. If you buy one, you must drive to the back of the property where they make them to pick them up. This would be a five star review (for the retail store) if they had been a bit friendlier and helpful. Maybe we will have time for lunch sometime and up this to five!

We did show up on a recent Saturday when they were packed and were told the wait was about 45 minutes. Well that was okay because there is so much to see and do shopping there. I love this place and can always find things I wish we had in our house. Interior decorators and people who like interesting decoration things for both inside and outside the home should have a good time exploring this decorating wonderland. However, we came back multiple times after one hour (remember they said 45 min). and were repeatedly told we were next. About two hours after we arrived were were finally seated. I balme the customers a bit, there were many tables with people hanging ut waiting mostly for wife to finish shopping. So basically people would come in for lunch, hand out with family and friends and time up a table for hours. Long after they are done eating they continue to sit there and wait while some of the group goes out to shop. I find thse really rude and surprised that the owners don't suggest to people that they hand out elsewhere. Like the many places to sit outside. I get that it puts the owners in a difficult situation because they want to sell decorator stuff. However, they really need to figure this out and find some way to move people off the tables and hanging out somewhere else. Once seated the food was generally good but we didn't have the best waiter the last time we came in. Constantly forgetting things bringing out things wrong, not refilling water, forgetting table setting after asking several times, etc. Although we will come back as everything is good I won't bring a group, just my wife and I and I will not come without planning on loosing half a day waiting for a table, then service. All in were were there four hours! When we really dropped in for lunch.

There are tons of booth with a wide variety of things to satisfy any serious antiquer. Clearly I am not a fan of the newfangled "mixed-use" antique mall & Temu/Shein/AliExpress reseller booth concept. I really don't like walking into a business and seeing AI slop and cheap plastic junk when what I came for is antiques and secondhand items that I can give a second life. It goes against the whole purpose of an antique mall/thrift store, which is to help people find beautiful, old items and keep more things out of the landfill for longer. Now that that's out of the way, I can tell you that I had a great visit to Junkerville! I found several gorgeous things that will make excellent gifts this holiday season. The crown jewel of my findings? An antique Victorian fold-out fireplace screen in beautiful condition for $65. I'll admit that $65 is quite a bit more than I would usually spend at an antique mall but this is a piece so rare to find in person that I didn't even have it on my wishlist because I never thought I'd find one. I truly can't explain how lucky I feel! $65 is already a good deal for what I found but on a whim, I asked if they take offers. For reference, most antique malls will call the seller and ask for you if you want to make an offer on items over $50. They said they don't do that, but that she could give me a 10% discount! Who am I to say no to that?! Needless to say that I left Junkerville poorer in the wallet but a very happy camper. Stop by and check it out! Take your time - there's tons to see!

We got a mocha and an oatmilk latte and the barista was very sweet and helpful. The decor is adorable with quite a few vintage pieces! The best part was the 80s/90s personal collection on display on the far end of the store! Archivist levels of dope things! So beautiful and nostalgic. It's located in the South part of Joplin Missouri and is in a pretty nondescript shopping plaza across the street from a Thai restaurant and they sell lots of discounted goods and they hardly ever have anyone in here so it makes for a really great discount store and I'm honestly not sure how they stay in business with these prices on so many products and often being so quiet (at least the few times I've been by here or in here) but I'm glad that they do as they are a great discount store and better than most dollar stores and a true credit to Joplin and what is coolest of all is that this was a really long sentence to signify the fact that it'll probably be a really long time until I come back here again and anyway I think it's time to wrap this up now like another really long thing when you're not someone that wants to have kids.
