I got the meat sampler with pulled pork and brisker and my brother got the same with with the addition of baby back ribs. Every thing was good. My husband and I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed it every time. The food, especially the pulled pork, is delicious and they give you a generous amount! I l went home each time with leftovers. While it is similar to a fast food place (you order your food at the counter) it has a much more comfortable and interesting atmosphere. Veterans are especially welcome as are First Responders and medical personnel. This is not to say that everybody is not welcomed in a friendly manner by all employees because we are. Veterans do receive a discount. I'm not sure about First Responders or medical personnel. Finally, if you give them your email address you receive coupons for free sandwiches throughout the year, including your birthday. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat. read more

I can't believe this place gets over 4 stars! The only things that were not over salted, fatty or to dry to swallow were the sweet tea and the coleslaw. The "moist" brisket (their word) is your best bet but also very salty. Nice concept terrible execution! read more

I always try the brisket at every BBQ place as my measure! This was great. The corn bread wasn't the best but free so who is complaining. We have found our new favorite bbq place! Mission BBQ is awesome! We've tried the pulled pork: fantastic! We've had the salmon: yummy! We've had the shrimp: mmm! We've eaten the yard bird aka chicken: wonderful! And they have the most delicious sides, but our favorite is definitely the mac and cheese. So amazing! Love, love, love the Mississippi mud pie as well. You can tell how awesome a restaurant is by their staff. When we came in this evening I talked to a young lady near the end of her shift and she was just as sweet and friendly as if she had just come on duty. We both got the beef brisket which was loaded with flavor. It was very salty almost to the point that it couldn't have been intentional. I like salt so I didn't complain it it seemed a bit much. We ordered fries and Mac n cheese for sides. The fries were clearly fresh and hand cut. Reminds me of Five Guys. They were great. Mac n cheese was good. We donated to the USO and received a reusable cup for free drinks. I missed it because I had to grab a seat in the crowded dining room but I hear the kitchen staff communicates in military lingo which seemed pretty cool. I love BBQ. This is good BBQ. I had the pulled pork, green beans, and peach cobbler. The pulled pork was perfect (not dry, good smoky flavor), the beans were fine (how can you go wrong when you cook with bacon?!), and the peach cobbler was excellent (and free; I'm a veteran, they have a lot of veterans' stuff around, I thanked them for it... and they thanked me for my service with free cobbler!). The pulled pork was good enough to eat plain, but why would you? They have at least ten sauces. I love vinegar sauce and mustard sauces. They had both. Both were pretty average (sorry!), but average is better than none at all! The atmosphere is nice. A bit cleaner and corporate than any other good BBQ place I've been to, but clean is great and the corporate look they go for is a good one (lots of wood and military memorabilia). On another visit I had the chicken sandwich. They have several choices of sauce on the table which adds to the flavor even more. A bit more expensive than a standard fast food place but the quality of the food is well worth it. Wanted to write this review because today I saw that this fine business was closed for Labor Day, giving their workers the chance to enjoy the holiday and be with their families. On Sunday 3/20/22 I had placed an order for pickup. I ordered 2 lbs of burnt ends, greens & cheesy potatoes. I found the quality of the food far below our expectations. The Brisket Burnt ends were extremely dry and hard to chew. It was more like we were eating the wood chips. The greens weren't even close to anything I have ever had. They tasted terrible. I've had BBQ from all over the country. From Nashville to Shreveport to Dallas to the NC & SC. Your product don't even compare. There is a young man who works register named Michael, he has remembered mine and my husbands name since the first time we came, always has a smile and is always very thorough and quick at his job. Good food and even better customer service. I got the pulled pork which was very flavorful with little fat. The only problem was is was a little dry. The sides are southern delicious! Baked beans have a BBQ flavor with meat in them. Mac&cheese tastes like it's smoke. I wish they had mashed potatoes but they dont. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the support of the military!!! This is such a caring crew I've ever encountered. Was there for my late sons b'day, his pic is in there... The most caring lady was taking care of everyone !!! She was so caring about my sons death because of cancer, just a year and a half ago. Her son's pic, also there, but death was service related. We even had hugs for each other. I just found this place today but was told it opened in July 2016. I had the pulled pork sandwich- North Carolina Style (Cole slaw piled high on the pork!!). It was awesome. I had 2 sides: baked beans and Mac & cheese. The beans are prepared with brisket and were sweet and delicious. The mac and cheese was cheesy and had crispy bread crumbs on top. There were about six sauces and a bottle of vinegar on the table for seasoning. The decor/theme of the restaurant is interesting. It is a tribute to all military branches and first responders. They also have televisions where you can see current sporting events. For 2 lunches I paid $21. I thought the food and service was excellent. A manager stopped by our table to ask how we were doing. Located on Grape Street, have wanted to try this place since it opened. Just rarely in Whitehall to have the chance. It's a counter service restaurant, with quite the choices of meats, sides and 6 BBQ sauces. Casual military ambiance, with booths, tables and bar tables. Very clean and family friendly. Very good Southern BBQ and definitely worth checking out. I just wish it was closer than Whitehall. read more

Finally, a BBQ joint that does not disappoint! The brisket was moist and tender withe just the right amount of smoke. The beans, what can I say about the beans. Beans are a side that almost everybody treats like a side dish. Usually seams like an afterthought. These beans with the brisket added eat like a main course. It's very rare to find really good BBQ up north, but what a great find in Allentown. 7 different sauces that hit every flavor of Q across America. As a veteran, it was really nice to see special parking for vets. The atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. Had the 3 meat platter and there was so much, I ended up bringing at least half home. My wife had the baby back ribs and they were truly fall of the bone. My mom and I went in today to get some food, we waited for about 5 minuets before ordering and finally ordered a Pulled Chicken each and I ordered a lemonade and my mom ordered a water. We finished our food and looked at the receipt and found that we had been charged for two fountain drinks. My mom went to the register and the lady who was helping her said the reason that happened was because we waited too long to order. Safe to say I probably wont go there again. read more

If there was ever a reason to dine at this lovely purpose-driven restaurant beside their food, it would be the customer service, particularly the young lady I dealt with recently. I walked into Mission BBQ on a whim two evenings ago, and since I was a noticeable first-timer, I was naturally hesitant ordering my food, fearful I'd order the wrong thing and leave unsatisfied and 20 bucks poorer. This, fortunately, was not the case. An energetic, down-to-earth, woman I must say, assisted me with the menu. There were a few folks in line but she didn't rush through her cashier duties. She also, somehow, didn't alienate the people waiting, summoning assistance from a co-worker so I wouldn't feel rushed. Honest to God, this woman treated my tastebuds as if they were her own. I just knew I made the right decision at that point and was clearly in good hands, although I didn't know her or the restaurant from a can of paint. Anyway, we went through the menu, chapter and verse, and landed on some good options. I explained my dietary restrictions and she responded back quickly with the necessary do's-and-don't's. I mean she super knowledgeable of the menu and didn't miss a beat. I was, and still am actually, thoroughly impressed with the service I received this particular day. My family and I devoured our food, and now this restaurant will likely become a go-to place of ours. The salmon did my stomach right and the sides were fantastic. My meal was punctuated with the cornbread, which I'm pretty sure the nice woman slid me an additional slice. All in all, I wouldn't trade my experience at Mission BBQ in Whitehall for anything I can think of (food-wise). The grub was excellent, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit the service that night wasn't equally, if not more, memorable. If feels good to be treated with such grace, and not just another patrons who comes through the door right before the place closes! I appreciate the food & service extended me and pray the woman, Ques who helped me tremendously, is recognized for her above and beyond efforts and positive energy. She's such a dope spirit and blessed my family and I with everything we could ask for. My son wanted to try this new place and I'm a sucker for bbq. Place is awesome. Very nice theme going on with the Craftsman toolbox holding all the straws and lids etc. Seems like its geared towards the men in the family but every bit a family restaurant. Loved the litrene in the mens room and the choice of sauces on the table is amazing. Each better than the last. Loved the Vinegar bottle on the table for the fries. It's a chain, but we like everything we eat from there. It's not too expensive, but not cheap either. I like hat you can pick what BBQ sauce you can add, we like the Smokey WV one, and everything taste fresh. Sides are good and they change a few each month, so it's nice to try something new. Mac n cheese is good and fresh cut fries are very good. Fill your own drinks, soda and iced tea and lemonade. Clean and good service.
