Another year at Mistletoe Meadows and it was again wonderful. I grew up with plastic trees and as an adult have always loved getting a real tree for Christmas. We've come here for years and love it. This year, they've made some changes to the flow and it seems improved. The usual things are there such as the wagon rides and the large fields of trees to choose from. The trees are tagged with colored ribbons which indicate the size and price. You pick a tree, wave someone down, and they will cut and bail it for you. Alternatively, you can also cut your own. They have a large barn area that grows a bit every year. You can get a cup of hot chocolate, hot apple cider, or a cookie for free. You also get a free small wreath with every tree, and there is a nice selection of larger wreaths and garland for purchase. After paying, you get back in your car and line up for pickup. Present your tag, and they quickly load the tree on top of your vehicle and tie it down for you. This area is rearranged and improved in efficiency compared to last year. It was quick and easy despite a busy day (Saturday after Thanksgiving) and long line. Prices go up year over year, which is unfortunate consequence of inflation. I'm glad they accept card payments and not just cash. But for the service, the quality of the trees, and the size of the farm, I don't mind the price. They are easily my favorite tree farm and are a family tradition! read more

Mistletoe Meadows has consistently been my favorite place to go for a choose and cut tree! Upon arrival you are greeted by a giant snowman that lets you know you are in the right place. You drive down a gravel road to get to the parking area and the barn which kinda serves as a home base for your experience. The parking area is themed with signs for streets named after reindeer which is a nice touch. You walk up the hill to Santa who greets you and then gets you on a hay ride out to the field. You ride out and are greeted by an employee who gives you the information on how to view prices, where to look for trees, and how to get an employees help once you have your perfect tree. They are available with chainsaws or you are welcome to use a handsaw to cut the tree yourself! The field had a great variety of trees all well maintained and in various sizes both in height and width. Once you have your tree cut they shake and bale your tree while you take the hayride back to the barn. At the barn you are greeted with fresh wreaths, garland, and mailbox decorations (don't forget to pick up your free small wreath that comes with every tree!) They also have restrooms and free refreshments (hot cocoa, hot apple cider, and cookies!). You enter a small checkout area where you can pay for your tree and pick up some minor tree essentials (lights, stands, or funnels). After paying, you drive your car to the side of the barn and give them your tag and they load your tree up for you and you are on your way! Overall everyone is friendly and the little touches such as the free refreshments and the free wreath make this my go to stop for a tree every year! read more

We've tried a few Christmas tree farms around this area and Mistletoe stands out as the best! They really go above and beyond to make a fun experience and when you throw in the free wreaths (each tree purchase gets a free wreath) they're really fair priced. A few tips... Bring cash to tip the chainsaw guys and those who tie the tree to your car. They do take cards for the actual purchase Wear hiking boots or something comfortable with ankle support (you'll be on the side of a hill) Leave your schedule open...can't rush tree day! When you leave via their exit and you're not sure where to go turn left twice. That'll take you back to where you came in. You likely won't have signal for gps. The first left at the bottom of the hill with the waterfall in front of you and another left at the next T. We were greeted by a monster inflatable snowman when we pulled in and followed a gravel road through the hills to the barn. When we got near the barn Santa was outside directing traffic. After parking we took a hay ride on a tractor out to the field with the trees. The tree selection was solid and we found our two winners pretty quickly. We flagged down the chainsaw and they cut them and labeled them while we headed back on the hay ride. Back at the barn it was quick and easy to pay, pick out a wreath (or more depending on how many trees you got) and get loaded up. Overall the process can be pretty quick and efficient! We did have to wait a while for the first hay ride, but I think that was just our poor timing. Their Covid precautions were impressive. While I'm not personally worried about Covid, I respect the heck out of places that go above and beyond to make people safe. Even outside Santa and the staff were wearing masks and they disinfected the trailer between every hay ride. On the hay ride they've added large plastic barriers between rows so parties and families can sit in a row without worrying about others on the ride. The process and roads could all be labeled a little better. The exit isn't marked well, but I covered that in my pro tips. We had been there last year so we knew the colors of the trees and pricing. If it's your visit stop by the barn and ask about how it all works before you jump on the ride. I do think they'd do well adding some concessions. I'd imagine s'mores, hotdogs, hot chocolate etc would be a huge hit. There could be more to hang out and do after the tree is cut. Overall awesome experience! Lots of great trees to choose from. I am sure they have that perfect tree for you. Prepare to wait a LONG time. When you arrive there is no one to offer directions on where to go or what the procedure is. There were hay rides to another field and there were people choosing trees in a field beside the barn. Where do you go? There were 3 employees setting at the barn in Mistletoe Meadows sweatshirts and they offered no assistance to anyone. There should be someone informing those that just arrived what the procedures are and answering questions. The pole that most Choose & Cut farms have are marked with heights so you can measure the tree. These were all the same size with green or red at the top to wave at the guys in the field cutting trees. By the way those guys are great and please tip them. There were no signs to tell you what the cost was or what color ribbon was what height. There was a small QR code by the cashiers office that informed you what the cost and what color was what height. However, if you did not walk to the office and see that small QR code you would never know that Blue was 7-8 ft or yellow 6-7 ft, etc...Each field should have a sign with the QR code on it for people to scan or the bin with the poles should have the QR on it. Once you cut your tree you get in line to pay. This is where it went off the rails. There were approximately 50 people in line when we joined it to day. So just for kicks & giggles I started my stopwatch. We were in line for 57 minutes to pay. They had one cashier working today. Granted the Friday after Thanksgiving is one, if not, the busiest day of the year for choose & cut, but you would think a farm this size would have extra staff to push people through. The flow of traffic needs help too. Once you pay you get in your car and drive around to pick up you tree. Again these employees are great and deserve your tips. However, the road that you must go on cuts through the line of people waiting to pay for their trees, garland, wreaths, etc...These people are wanting to pay and leave so they are not moving easily. Again, stationing an employee here would have helped the process. Also, the hay rides used this same area to drop people off, turn around and pick more passengers up. When this happens it stops the flow of cars from picking up their trees. Granted on slower days this probably works fairly well. However, on busy days this is a disaster. More employees at the right spot would have helped so much. There appeared to be on one managing the operation or moving employees to areas where they were needed. Our tree looks great, but waiting in line this long just to pay is not a good experience. read more

Joe was waiting for us at our appointment time. He was so nice! Waited patiently for us to choose. We never felt rushed and it was a windy and very cold day. He chatted with us while cutting and carrying out our tree. Very reasonably priced trees as well. You can't go wrong at Mistletoe Meadows! This farm was a fantastic experience. I've been going to choose and cut my own tree for a few years now and this place is one of the best. We parked and rode the wagon to the tree fields. The wagon had plastic dividers to separate each row and I saw employees sanitize the plastic. An employee was present with a step ladder to help us on and off the wagon. The wagons were frequent. We brought our dog and there were many other dogs there too. We really appreciated this. Once we got to the tree field, someone gave us the directions and though I choose a small 3' tree there was a large selection of trees in all sizes. Someone was ready nearby to quickly cut my tree once I chose it and then the team did the rest. They cut the tree, baled it, shook it, loaded it on a truck to take to the barn, and loaded it into the truck for us. We even got a free wreath with the purchase! I thought the tree, wreath, and stand prices were all very reasonable. If you're interested, they also have the option for you to cut down your tree yourself (with a saw)! It was a very cold morning but the crew working at Mistletoe Meadows was friendly and hard working. They had great communication and everything ran smoothly. I appreciated the effort to keeping guests safe and healthy. It was a terrific experience and we'll be going back next year. read more
