First rate campground, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I made reservations in advance, knowing…read morehow popular October is for fall colors. The reservation process was easy. I received a confirmation email, with directions (follow them closely, as it would be very easy to miss the unmarked road). When we arrived, we were escorted to our campsite, which was large, level and fairly secluded. The grounds and facilities are fairly clean and well kept. The only concern was a pack of four dogs who roamed the campground in the morning. They were on the picnic tables and a bit of a nuisance. I mentioned them to the owner. She's aware but apparently not getting support from local authorities, sadly. I'd still recommend this stop as you're exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway.

While I could see this Campground really being amazing, unfortunately it seems like it's just not…read morebeing maintained. The hiking trails weren't even open for use (was told ownership is "working out the details" whatever that means). The lake was NASTY and beach a disaster. The sites were level and spacious but full of weeds and needed fresh gravel. Roads in were full of pot holes and ill maintained. It just felt very tired and needed some love and for the price we paid, I don't think it was worth it.
