Great little cafe and specialty grocer! My husband and I stopped here while we were in town staying at Burntside Lodge. We got coffee, fruit, pastries, and soup to go. This is the perfect place for someone with food allergies/gluten free/vegan or even just someone who wants some healthy options. Good selection of fresh organic produce, snacks, and regular groceries in the market section. I would definitely come back and eat in the cafe. Such a cute little hole in the wall!

Delicious food! I had premade hummus wrap and also ordered a cup of carrot cumin lime soup. The sandwich was $9.00 and came with chips and fruit, and the soup was $3.00. Everything I had was delicious! My sister ordered a flatbread which was also super tasty and cost $12. The store part of the cafe is also neat, kind of like a little co-op! I will come pack here for more!

I wish I had something like this near me (I probably do but Organic Roots just feels different and honest).

My first visit I enjoyed a house baked scone and the second visit I tried one of their breakfast burritos. Both were good choices, but if I had to repeat, I'd go with another scone. On their menu, they also offer quiche, muffins and a variety of danish. The coffee is self-serve once you order and they give you two regular and one decaf to choose from. If you add sugar to your coffee, they had the real thing, plus raw sugar and a rainbow of artificial sugars to choose from. I got a grin that the ice cream they offer was a small town company back home in Illinois. They serve, Prairie Farms. Which is based in, Carlinville, Illinois. It was nice to see that they support a farmer owned company. Front Porch does have a fabulous porch that almost wraps around the entire building. It is great for relaxing on a beautiful day. Pets are welcome with well behaved owners. Only thing that disappointed me was, I did not visit them on a Monday. Monday is the day, Seniors get a 10% discount and we all like to save. Staff was what you'd expect from a small town coffee shop, it was extremely friendly. Everyone knew each other, yet they made out-of-town folks feel welcomed as well.

We had a much longer wait for pie at Betty's, and were lucky to get a parking place at all. It was mobby, and it wasn't even the weekend! There was about a 10 minute wait to order at the outdoor window, and a 15-20 wait for our slices. Most of the people ahead of us seemed to be getting pie shakes. In addition to the apple pie slice, we bought a toffee cream one. We ate it soon after our visit. It was delicious. The pale crust reminded me of shortbread, the filling light, sweet, and creamy, with what seemed to be Heath bits throughout. It was great and surprisingly not filling at all. As for the apple pie comparison, Betty's version was more cohesive a crust and easier to eat, but it was also surprisingly bland. The thicker crust at the edge was dry, too. The fillings from both bakeries were quite close, both good. From Betty's, we liked the cream pie slice much more than the apple. For classic double-crust apple, Rustic was best between the two.

This is absolutely so delicious and perfect for someone who just wants to keep it as a clean healthy meal. The flavor is perfect. You can taste how fresh every single vegetable is.
