I'm a pharmacist -- been doing it for over 25 years. I've dispensed more NSAIDs than I can count. Advil, naproxen, diclofenac, you name it. And I can tell you from experience, those drugs can do more harm than good -- ulcers, bleeding risks, interactions with blood thinners. So when someone suggested acupuncture, yeah, I was skeptical. But after my very first visit, I noticed a difference even before I got home. That got my attention. What really surprised me though was Dr. Lee's knowledge of food and inflammation. I'm a pharmacist and I was genuinely blown away. He explained how what I eat was affecting my pain, and that changed things for me. I'm 58 and I'm still playing competitive table tennis and golf. As a first time mom, the LAST thing you want to hear from your doctor is "if your this nervous for a pelvic exam you're going to have a hard time delivering." She called me "heavy" multiple times. And at my 6 week post partum appointment she said to my face that I had a tough delivery, which I really didn't.. I only pushed for 15 minutes. Even my husband was not happy with her in the delivery room. She insisted on him taking a photo of her holding the baby when he has said 3 times that he didn't want one. Her office staff is amazing. Maria made me feel comfortable every time I saw and I was so excited to show her our new baby at our 6 week post parting visit. Overall, she is no bedside manners and is rude. We will never set foot in her office again.

Thinking I have nothing else to lose (well except for some money lol) I then gave acupuncture a shot. Gunilla, who was at the front desk, was just lovely and welcoming - I just had to mention this! she was always a pleasure. Anyway, I had my consultation with Taya which was very thorough. It was then that I actually realized how stressed I was. I seriously did not think I was until I answered the questions she had for me. Acupuncture helped me relax and, although it didnt quite relieve my backpains (from office work), it did give some improvement with my sleep and worries. During the sessions, the tables are warm and comfortable and so conducive to sleeping/relaxing. Lights are turned off and music was soothing too. The walls, however, are quite thin so me being a light sleeper, I can easily hear some outside chatter if there are any. And plus when the train passes by, the noise can be easily heard in some of the rooms. After going 1-2x a week for around 7 months or so I could definitely tell my stress levels were getting so much better. I do believe Taya and her acupunctures sessions helped a whole lot in the success of our pregnancy and that we now have a 5 month old baby after years of trying and waiting. Guess Medical School has some work to do in that dept., MEDICAL SCHOOL DEANS and/or Admission Directors reading this review remember -- Rapport is also apart of the job. Anyhoo, I called and made an appointment with Dr. Weiss, whom is extremely over booked, I had to wait nearly two months to meet with her. And then when I did, I had to cancel and reschedule. But it worked out and I was able to get in to see her. She has a small little office inside a one-level office bldg, across from the tracks in Englewood. The waiting room furniture was out-dated and unpleasant to the eye and very dimly lit, border line dark. Inside the examination rooms, which was small, and had this old clunky white wicker chair, was very ugly and odd that you would find it in a exam room -- it belongs on her patio or deck. Anyhow, I digress... She is very nice, down-to-earth, sorta has this disshoveled look; late 40s, full figured jewish woman, with thick full messy hair with her glasses on top her head, and wears her medical scrubs (not un-normal). She has a dry sense of humor, works well with mine lol. As for thoroughness - she asks all the questions and maybe even twice, to jog your memory if you are having a "senior moment". But what I didn't like was, I sent 20 pages worth of medical information. All her questions could have been answered if she reviewed them before our meeting. It would be nice, for once, if a doctor was up to speed on their patient walking in the door. Quality vs Quantity; Quality always wins in my book. But Money always prevails. She gets a 3 - 3.5 out of 5 stars. Ms. Janet Ross in NOLA still has my loyalty. Ms. Ross always called me personally, and if she was in surgery or delivery, her assistants did. I'm just one of those ppl who likes to hear the results from the doctor, just incase I have questions. Nobody likes to wait for a callback.
