I cannot say enough about MJL Landscaping. The Customer Service and devotion and the follow-through is over the top many people rate a business one through 10 being the best. I have to tell you that I have to give him a 20+ plus rating for his service, his professionalism, his follow-through and his guidance he goes over the top and if you want your lawn and your yard and any of your Landscaping needs to be the best you need to call him ask for Mathew. We went with him even though his bid was a lot higher because he said he could get it done promptly. We signed a contract sent a substantial deposit over a month ago and no work has been done. He has a lot of excuses and promises but as far as I can tell has no actual plan to do this work for us. He has stopped answering texts and emails so I doubt that I will ever see him or our money again. We can't even try to get someone else because we had to send him such a big deposit that we can't afford to get anyone else. I have no idea how or if this will be resolved because he will not communicate with us. read more

I am writing this review, albeit a bit hesitant, as I have waited some time in the hopes of resolution from MJL Lawncare and Landscaping. I hired this company April 2023, asking for the project to be completed by Memorial Day, which they agreed to make happen. The project ended up starting early June, and they showed up and informed me via a text message that they were at my property starting the work. Unfortunately not being given any indication of their start date, I was unable to supervise them (living out of state). Lack of the following with this company: -Communication -Not enough help -Lack of Supervision of workers -Overbooked -Rushed to get the work completed The unsatisfactory work is listed below: - Stone around perimeter of house, I mentioned numerous times, I did not want to pull weeds, I am now pulling weeds (see pictures) - Stone not completed up to the siding (see pictures) - Stone dropped by street and easement (could have been used where it was needed - see picture). - Brown patch (formerly a tree), no straw/seed, as promised - Patio - I questioned the look of being rough. I was told that you don't want it to be too smooth to avoid accidents when wet and have people slip and possibly fall. Yet, I have never seen concrete look like this, other than it being a poorly done job (see pictures). - Concrete splashed on siding (see bottom of picture), not covered siding properly to avoid concrete being splashed on siding and not cleaning up properly, - Pavers on either side of front stoop, while they tried to fix it, they were to come back and secure it, not completed. In regards to the concrete, I have had a few concrete contractors come by to look at this job and their response in all cases, they state it was too wet before brushing and more than likely using an old brush. I am now having to replace this, which I should be reimbursed for by this company for a poorly done job, that one can easily scrap their feet and is quite dangerous not too mention not being done correctly. My last conversation with Matt the owner of MJL Lawncare and Landscape was August 18, 2023 who mentioned he would be out just prior to Labor Day, to clean up the property and try to make it right, which has come and gone and have not seen nor heard from him, last time I reached out was on August 31, and no answer to date. If you are reading this review, I think it explains it all and pictures validate the poor work, that was never posted on his Facebook website (as of this review) as he indicated...obviously a job not proud of. read more

I was so excited to find a company that could come to my aid quickly to remove topsoil and rototill an area to be seeded into a wildflower garden, since the company I thought I had hired never showed up and the season was progressing. Matt came out, used a front loader to scrape the top layer off, and then rototilled as promised. However, none of it was done uniformly. There is grass growing everywhere in it still, and this wouldn't have happened if he had raked like your supposed to (& I asked him to) after the tilling to see what was missed and smooth it out. So much missed! Then there's the scrapped off clumps that he dumped on my front lawn! He tried to tamp it down with the front loader, but that doesn't smooth it out. I can't even get my lawn mower at it highest to go over it. I'm very disappointed and would never recommend this company. Oh! I forgot to tell you, he wants to charge me to come back and look. read more
