What a valuable resource for anyone with a deep love for dolls, and baby dolls, teddy bears, plushies, doll houses, doll furniture, action figures and figurines, doll fashion, fashion dolls and doll collecting. Exploring the collections at Mrs B's Dolls -I saw dolls I've only ever seen in retro print ephemera advertisements... and dolls I've only seen at antique auctions ...or museums ... or PBS documentaries...and dolls I've only imagined in my wildest dreams!

Area (building, landscape, lot surface) appears clean and maintained. Walking in, I was greeted by the cashier. Browsed around to find lake themed apparel, MN themed stickers (for water bottles or car windows), little glass and ceramic nicknacks, puzzles and of course, gnomes. At the vendor event, I found out that Gnomes +More partners with another small business and opens up their back room for craft nights. I signed up, and will be attending in September. This is a cute little place if you're looking for a cute gift.

Walking in, I loved the decor which included neon lights and a big State Fair chalk mural (this is a belated review from the summer. RIP, summer). Duke Albert offers an assortment home goods, bath and beauty items, gift, trinquets, and even some vintage clothing from local artists and beyond. I ended up getting a plant hanger, enamel pin, and colorful skirt. Other tempting items of interest: local hand soap, cool candles with metal skeleton cores, silly cheese kit that they found in France, an antique stucco stamp, vintage games and posters. The owners (I assume) were really cool too, providing lots of info and even insight on where they found some of the unique treasures. I'll for sure stop in here periodically when I want something for friends but mostly myself.

Opening the door, the cozy scent of light incense and Palo Santo wafted into my nose. I knew right then it was going to be something a out of the norm. The dimly lid store had a cool, clean, modern mix with bohemian, zen kind of vibe. The kind of store I could personally hang out in for a good hour (or two) just for the smells and all the awesome random finds!! (If only the kids weren't with me today...) While it isn't really a kid geared store- I found something for just about every age group. It's a mix of (extremely clean & crisp) vintage trinkets and clothes, gorgeous more natural lines of personal care, a few beautiful cannabis based things, just funky randomness, classic & modern art, air plants in stellar wall hanging containers, jewelry, (did i mention cool vintage things that were immaculately cleaned??!) well made things I'd like for my next house...it just had a bit of a whole lot of really neat stuff. I'm definitely coming back- again & again. Probably every time I need to find a gift of something a little more unique for some of my cool friends that prefer unique random finds.

But it's packed with high quality, unique merchandise at very reasonable prices (see photos). Everything is clean, organized, and displayed nicely. Don't forget to checkout the 2nd floor balcony area. There are more goodies up there. I'd say that around 25% of the store is merchandise that wouldn't be considered an antique. I usually don't like this stuff but FBA does a good job. There are a few vendor areas with reproduction signs, bird houses, hand-made signs, and that sort of thing. But there's also a giant wall of high quality specialty cooking oils and vinegars in front - very cool. There's some amazing functional art on the front desk. There are instruments (and a pipe sculpture) converted into functional lamp art. I usually don't like this stuff. (I've seen other shops where someone shoves a light bulb on something old and tries to sell it.) But this artist, Charlie Fiss, is crazy talented -- amazing stuff! In particular, there was an awesome violin lamp with color changing LEDs (with a remote), a USB charger in the base, and a blue tooth speaker hidden in the violin so you can play music. The pipe sculpture lamp was pretty darn cool too. It had all kinds of doo-dads, knobs, switches, an old fuse, a digital readout, and an analog clock. Charlie - you rock! As a final note, the owner is really nice. My wife and I really enjoyed talking to her. Ironically, this building was built by her grandparents, and she has their photo proudly hanging by the front entry door. Unfortunately, it sounds like the city wants to buy this building so they can demolish everything and "develop" the land. Really? Do they need some junky condos or a crappy strip mall near the river? She mentioned that all their used vinyl is thoroughly cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaner. That level of care is rare! I also found their vintage offerings to be priced so reasonably. I snagged a couple of records for my collection and will absolutely be making this a regular stop whenever I'm in the area!
