I'm a fan! This location is super convenient for me for my lunch breaks when I'm craving some Asian food. Rice is always cooked perfectly. My to gos are the Katsu and chicken And get the cookies!!!

Update: Well, I was hoping things would have improved, but they did not. I used the BOGO offer that was being given out during their grand opening, I knew what I did not want a repeat of my first visit. I decided on the: KĀLUA PIG: I will say, it was good and seasoned well, but it was way too salty. I'd suggest, if you choose this protein (hopefully, yours will not be salty) make sure you get extra sauce. We didn't eat it all in one sitting, but it would have been nice to have additional sauce, for the leftovers. Macaroni Salad: Bland, mayo heavy, nothing changed. They need to reach out to Hawaiian Bros, but there can only be one. KATSU CHICKEN: I was skeptical to get their chicken again, but I assumed their fried chicken would have been a better choice and fully cooked, unlike their Pulehu Chicken. I was wrong. Like some of the other comments and as you can see in my picture, this was way overcooked and not edible in the least. Someone also mentioned, this could be due to cooking everything in batches, this is always bound to happen with some batches. When originally ordering, I was going to get the steak, but didn't know there's an upcharge for the steak. Unless I missed it, you do not find out until you're at the register. I knew this because, I originally wanted the steak and ordered two of those. As I showed the coupon, I was charged an additional $4.00, just for getting the steak. Because of the my previous experience, I didn't want to pay anything additional. After speaking to the manager about my previous experience, and the lack of detail when charging extra for the steak; I did mention Austin and asked to speak with him, and the manager had no clue as to who he was. I found that to be odd, considering he responds to the reviews online and is the business manager. I was also surprised to see when he took the two made containers of steak, they were not immediately disposed of. If they were already plated and given to a customer, they should have been immediately disposed of. The only winner, in my book, would be their tempura.

This is my review based off the drive thru experience. I ordered 2 regular plates, includes 2 meats, rice and macaroni salad. We tried the teriyaki steak, teriyaki chicken, and katsu chicken. The steak was good but for $1.99 up-charge I expected a little more. There was plenty of teriyaki chicken, though. Both had great flavor and char. The katsu chicken lacked flavor, I would not get that again. The macaroni salad was decent, not too much flavor. The interaction through the drive thru speaker was not the best. I do want to mention I am a super patient person and understanding, especially with the food service industry, but there needs to be more training on interacting with customers while taking orders. It did seem like there were a lot of teenagers working, and we all start somewhere. But I hope management addresses that aspect. Aside from that my interaction at the window to pay and pick up the food was good, and the employee was friendly.

Glad this location is close by. Have a little more variety than Hawaiian bros. Even during lunch service was quick probably spent less than 5 minutes getting my food. I've noticed that the dining area is small than the Plano location. But I was surprised that this location has a drive thru.

Having very recently moved to TX from HI, i was very curious what this experience was going to be like. Would it fetishize local Hawaiian culture for profit in a classic move of capitalistic appropriation? Or would it be some real down home cooking? Chicken katsu - Definitely a different batter from the panko crust you would expect, but still a nice cook on it Katsu sauce - great blend of Japanese vs Hawaiian style Rice & mac salad - passing While the brand definitely peddles in the Hawaiian mythos, I would eat here again, with a free side of irony. tbh, you would get a larger meat portion in Hawaii for the price, but obviously it's a less saturated market here as well i guess. I don't know that I love that the food is cooked in batches instead of to order. I wonder if food quality can be a bit random. On the other hand, it does mean you will get your food very quickly, which is always nice. A hui hou Mo Bettahs..

Had a chance to check out this new Hawaiian spot in Hurst. Nice spot, clean inside, with nice decor on the walls to keep you busy in line. The food was delicious, although the rice portion is a bit small. I probably should have asked if it was possible to get a second scoop. The Mac salad was ok...not my favorite. The chicken katsu was crisp and the chicken teriyaki was really juicy. Good meal.

Excited to have some good food in the area! Many of the other options serving Hawaiian cuisine just aren't cutting it. Food, service, drive thru was great. Looking forward to coming back and trying more meats. Really liked the chicken teriyaki and steak. The Mac salad is delicious. Enjoy!!

Soft opening!! Great service, super friendly and easy take out. Food was delicious. My only complaint is the portion of the rice is a bit tiny for the amount of meat they give, this is good for meat lovers! I think portion wise, it is enough if you eat the meats with the mac and the salad; I just prefer to eat the meats with mostly rice. Overall atmosphere was good, drive thru good, people good, food is good. Better tasting than most Hawaiian food out here!

Love the authentic Hawaiian style food. Cant beat the portion sizes and the flavor!!

Alright now, this place is a gem!…read more I work with someone who raves about this place, and I finally decided to try it. Walking in, the young lady at the register was so sweet and pleasant. I had an online order and arrived a bit early, she politely let me know there would be a little wait, and I did not mind. I would, much rather wait, than walk in twenty minutes early to see my food just sitting there. It is a small space, but one that comes with warmth. What I chose: Mixed Plate Teriyaki Beef - The first bite, YES! The meat was seasoned so well, I was afraid the teriyaki sauce would overtake the flavor; it didn't. Both, the sauce and the seasoning complemented each other very well. The beef was thinly sliced and free of fat. I can't stand enjoying a bite, and out of nowhere, boom, a piece of fat. I'm not a beef person, but I'm so happy I tried something different. Hamburger Steak: I couldn't wait to try this, it's delicious! The patty is plenty and well seasoned; it isn't heavily seasoned, but well seasoned. It was juicy and not dried out, which sometimes happens. The gravy was perfect, and went perfectly with the meat patty. Next time, I will ask for more gravy and onions. I love grilled onions with meat patties. With my order, I asked for steamed veggies, but received rice instead. I don't eat rice often, but this is the one time I was happy with the mishap. I had a small bit with the gravy and patty, delicious!! Sides: Mac Salad and Rice - I didn't order rice; instead, it should have been steamed veggies. As I said above, the rice ended up being a great mishap; it was perfect with my meat patty and gravy. The mac salad, sadly, I didn't like. It wasn't horrible, it just didn't hit the right taste buds. Chocolate Mac Nut Cheesecake: I only tasted a spoonful of this, but it was good. I wouldn't get it again, for me, it was too sweet. They do have another cheesecake, which looks like a plain cheesecake, with a sauce on top. That, I will try. Spam Musubi: There seems to be more rice than what I am used to, so I cut it in half, and it made for the perfect bite. This was more than enough food; I have plenty to take to work for lunch and will have more to enjoy for dinner. I am so happy I visited. I will definitely visit periodically for a hamburger steak, and I am anxious to try their panko shrimp. Add them to your list, it is a must!!

I love guava and their confection was perfection. I seriously still think about it and can't wait to come back and try it again. I also got the wings, which were crispy and super favor full. Instead of simply directing customers to the self-service kiosks, Cyncere invited me to place my order with her personally, making the experience feel much more welcoming and engaging. She also took the time to introduce me to the rewards program and explained its benefits in a friendly, professional manner. She even suggested adding an almond cookie to my order without ever making me feel pressured. Rather than simply calling out my order number when it was ready, Cyncere personally brought my food directly to my table. It was a small gesture, but one that made a real difference in the overall experience. From my perspective, Cyncere is intentionally focused on customer engagement rather than simply processing transactions. She looks for opportunities to make every interaction a positive one, and that kind of initiative is something customers notice and appreciate. I also wanted to recognize what I believe is genuine management potential. Throughout my visit, Cyncere consistently demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and a natural instinct for hospitality. Those qualities are difficult to teach and are invaluable in a leader. I would encourage upper management (and even other customers) to simply observe her interactions during future visits and see if they come away with the same impression I did. Based on what I experienced, I believe she has the customer focus, leadership instincts, and commitment to service that could make her an excellent candidate for increased responsibility in the future. I first tried this restaurant when it opened, and the experience wasn't great. I figured they were still working out the kinks, so I decided to give them some time before coming back. Unfortunately, my second visit was even worse. The customer service was honestly the biggest disappointment. The employees seemed were impatient, rude and unprofessional. I'm not sure if they're mostly teenagers or just poorly trained, but they definitely need better customer service training. A friendly attitude and basic courtesy go a long way, especially when customers are spending their money. As for the food, I ordered the Huli Huli Chicken, the Honolulu Chicken, and a slider on the side. The slider was actually the best thing I ordered. It was flavorful and well made. However, both chicken entrees tasted almost identical. They were extremely salty, the portions were much smaller than expected for the price, and neither dish stood out in flavor. The macaroni salad was also disappointing. It was watery and runny, which is not something I've experienced at other Hawaiian restaurants. Overall, I spent over $25 and left feeling like it wasn't worth it. Between the poor customer service, small portions, and disappointing food quality, I won't be returning. There's another Hawaiian esquié restaurant nearby that consistently provides better food, better service, and a much better value. I'll be sticking with them from now on.
