This place is great. The ambiance is fast casual with a decent selection of bottled beers and also drafts on tap. Their shawarmas are very filling, have tons of toppings And meat cooked to perfection. I tried the Tel Aviv which was nice and spicy with the harissa but the Stockholm was splendid. Some months back I stumbled upon an article that was discussing kebab. The supposed kebab expert Jiray Seropian discussed what a kebab actually is, the history, how it's made and what a proper kebab sauce is. Tonight after a calm evening of sipping drinks, my partner in crime and I got hungry and decided to go for some comfort food. We ended up here at M.O.A.S. which is in fact Jiray Seropian's gourmet kebab "restaurant". We ordered the Stockholm kebab and ararat together with sweet potato fries. All of the food was good and portions were humongous! I mean there was enough food to feed a whole family (almost). At first I thought a kebab for 150 SEK was too much but after seeing this eye pleasing creation I understood why. After all, it is a gourmet kebab and the flavours marry so beautifully. I would recommend this place if you want to try a delicious gourmet version of something that's such a simple staple at a late night shack. To begin with - I am a huge lover of shawarmas, doners and kebabs. Have I been travelling to Berlin just to get hold of a great snack? Yes. Have I been rescheduling work to be able to grab a fantastic meal in the outskirt suburban areas of Stockholm? Yes. Do I allow myself to weigh approx. 30 pounds over what I self see as a good standard just because I love kebabs? Yes. That is me. I am a kebab. So, It was with huge expectations we went to MOAS today for lunch. The restaurant opens at 12 midday on weekends and has since the opening had the luxurious problems with packed crowds non-stop - which is an indicator of two things. First - Stockholm must have an unmet demand of great kebab restaurants. Secondly - The kebabs must be great, right? When we arrived we were told that they were 20-30 minutes delayed. 'No worries, we can wait!' was our immediate respons. I ordered a veal and lamb done (Stockholm) and my girlfriend one with pork (New York). We also ordered some french fries to accompany the course. Now, I no certain order, I will list different events during our visit that will be the our collected view on MOAS. The restaurant: - Kids screaming non-stop and no one from the staff trying to speak with the parents to calm the kids down. The parents were ignoring the kids, busy talking to other parents and let the kids run around screaming. - The delay. We were told upon arrival that they were 20-30 minutes delayed. This extended to 40 minutes and then we were just receiving our french fries. Ten minutes later the kebabs arrived. How about sending out the whole order at the same time? - Uncertainties in the menus. We were told that they were out of chicken and replaced it with wild hog instead (yes!) and it was ready to order, but when we was going to order they told us that they couldn't serve wild hog for another hour or two. - Our table neighbours where served water as soon as they arrived but we had to remind the waiter two times until we got ours. The kebab: - The veal and lamb meat was well over seasoned, dripping of fat - sorry - swimming in fat. Think of the ratio 1 cup meat, 1/3 cup of simmering fat. I totally love kebabs that has a good portion of fat in it to deliver great taste but here it was just disgusting. The meat also had a good portion of non-minced connective tissues. Unpleasing and isn't something I expect from a kebab that costs 3x more that a standard kebab in Stockholm. The pork kebab instead was under seasoned, lacked both salt and acidity to help it fly. To be honest - this is one of the worst kebabs I've eaten in a very long time. - Their pita bun is great in theory but were badly sliced so the whole kebab just fell apart after a couple of seconds. And the tray they served everything on isn't made using cutlery with. Together with the pool of melted fat made a horrendous combo. - The fries were mediocre. Soggy and bland. Perhaps you should aim for something more rustic like patata bravas? - The kebab itself isn't something I would recommend to eat if you aim to hit the town afterwards. You become greasy. No, you become a mountain of melted fat yourself. The thin paper that was wrapped around the pita couldn't withstand the tsunami of melted fat. This isn't what I was expecting from a place that is marketing themselves as "a more sophisticated choice when you want a kebab". Well, right now I would beware of visiting MOAS. Perhaps in the future but it will require both bravery and a black hole of hunger. End of story. read more

Here you can have a luxury Kebab served with a beer, which is an unique combination and if you have spare time and are very hungry, then go no further. Here you'll get a very nice taste experience that not many places can offer in this city. Serving time is beyond average, probably very long if you just come for takeaway (without having a beer). I had a pork called Houston and there were some problem to eat it all. Highly recommend it. Just order a plain dish without side dish. Next time I'll try the baklava milkshake. read more
