He didn't know until we arrive at the aerodrome ! 1* For the Staff : I was in contact with John Nugent from the moment I booked the voucher on groupon in October 2015. The weather being what it was, there was no way we could fly. But John kept in touch and he was very kind. Last week we planned the flying lesson for the next weekend. This morning he called me before the lesson to confirm. So professional and nice ! 1* For the preparation : They are obviously used to have couple coming over. The girl get a voucher for her man to fly. That's funny actually ! So we got our yellow jackets to go out on the airfield. The instructor explained everything about the plane to mister while I was chatting to a lovely man about planes and the conditions to fly. After 14 minutes the plane took off. 1* For the flight : The flight lasted 45 minutes. I will write more when I get the details :) 1* For the waiting room : Whiler mister was flying I took pictures and wrote my review. The reception room is big and warm. On one side there is a little cafeteria where I could sip on a cuppa while waiting for my man to come back. The prices are really cheap and everybody is lovely. It looks like a family place where people gather around their hobby and have a good time really ! 1* For the organization : While I was waiting I could tell the schedule is well organized. People arrive, check in, wait for a bit, and while they wait the staff comes to update how long is left to wait. I really appreciated that. It makes all the difference and customer really feel taken care of ! This was such a great idea for a birthday present ! I think I will probably try myself sometime soon. The site for touring caravan's is seperate from the mobile site and there is a toilet block and showers at the entrance. It is very clean all round. There is some shelter from the breeze not like next door in wolohans were you are out in the open and it is more expensive to stay. If you are in silver strand on the coast of Wicklow and looking for some were to camp Harry Webster's is were to go.

Our room was spacious as well, a big Victorian style place with an extremely comfy bed and antique family pictures on the walls. The history of the B&B is fascinating when you go, ask John to tell you about the place. There's a takeaway just down the road, and easy access to travel and motorways.The food is plentiful and sooo good. The grounds are large and beautiful. Tynte House was a wonderful stay and we felt we met a friend instead of just a business owner.

There is a decent amount of adventure in the estate, which is massive and with a great scenic view; and yet at no point did i feel unsafe or that there was room for risk. we were a bunch of friends and a family with 2kids under 10 were taking part too. we all had the same amount of fun. Words of advice: your body temperature is going up amd down, be prepare for both. there were no tea/coffee facility when we came which is a real pity so you mihht bring ur own water.we ve been told june onwards is mad busy so booking well ahead is crucial. If you re only interested in the accommodation part of their activity, lets be honest, the houses are ugly unfinished looking things. didnt check the inside tho. i guess the amazing view and the remoteness,along with the river liffey and the sound of birds could make up for that but seriously they could have done a better job at the aesthetic of the houses. great place for fun time in families and friends.

First impressions are the properties are in a remote location well suited to people who want to get away from it. However, the Estate also doubles up as a team building/corporate centre so it can be far from quiet. We booked a week out of season (May 2008) for 5 adults and two infants in one of the 4 bedroom self-catering apartments. The booking was directly through the compehensive website. The standard of the property we stayed in was average - nothing special. It consisted of 3 bedrooms (one with ensuite) and bathroom on the ground floor and one bedroom on the first floor where the main lounge, dining and kitchen area was located in open plan format. The kitchen is not particularly well stocked with utensils, especially for a large family group, and it was difficult to obtain missing items from reception. Overall I would say the property was OK. For families with small children you should be aware that most days needed an hour in the car to get to the major attractions nearby e.g. the beach south of Wicklow, Glendalough, Powerscourt, etc. This also applies to provisions as there are no shops around the corner - a good 30 minute drive the nearest grocers so stock up or be prepared for a drive. However, it is a good base for day trips to Dublin. Drive to Dublin Zoo and jump on the City sightseeing bus - a good cheap option to get into Dublin avoiding the traffic. Overall, if you really want to get away from it all I would suggest looking for a cosier property that would feel comfortable in bad weather (which can be common in these parts). Unfortunately, this place did not do it for us but this is my opinion so others may love it.

Mixed review, there were positives but more negatives. We were greeted with a warm welcome from a…read moreflamboyant guy who named himself as "C.C" and we went our room which was lovely. The next day, we had nocks on our door from C.C asking us if we would like him to attend to our room, which we said no, politely, and we left for our day in Glendalough. Upon our return we found the room was cleaned but our personal items were rearranged and gone through. The following day during our breakfast he made us uncomfortable by making appoint of sharing the personal details of his competitors and their personal lifes. Which was unprofessional and out of tone with the warm welcome of the B&B. Unfortunately, when we departed from the room, we accidentally left a jacket behind, in which we called him when we arrive home. It was on this call, we found a very rude side to C.C. In which he sounded less personable and rude than in person. We made it clear that we were happy to pay and compensate any inconvenience to return. After several phone calls he promised he would send it asap, he did not send. So, after a month, we called again to see if the jacket was still in his possession and it was. Therefore, we were forced to drive 140 kilometres to take it back. When we arrived the B&B he gave the jacked and became very abusive. Stating there was no post office, although there was one 7 minutes away. The way he spoke, I had to leave in tears. In summer nice house, nice location; at the same time very intruding and unprofessional experience.

They were amazing and so friendly and kind. I couldn't get over the hospitality here. I felt right at home. I do have 2 suggestions for improvement. The Heather House desperately needs wi fi. It was frustrating to not have access. Also some of the lights didn't work so the room was pretty dark.
