if i could give negative 10 stars, i would. there is a very…read morenice woman that works here i've seen a few times. but today, for the first time it was a tall greasy looking guy with dark ugly wavy hair. and kind of smelled a little ripe. but more importantly, was rude and seemed like he was out of it. i came in looking to purchase a replacement battery for my juul (vape pen) and some beverages for me and my wife. firstly, we stoped here from the train, on our way home. so my wife asked politely if she could use the restroom (seeing the restroom door open) didn't think it was a problem). he informed us that "the restroom is closed at night." it was only like 9pm or so but whatever. it's closed for a female. but wait! two cops come in, snag free drinks and head on into the bathroom. aight, whatever. you're a cop friend and we're just regular people. i asked him if they sell juul pens, he acted like he didn't feel like turning around to look. and mumbles something. i had to push to find out they sell juul carts and chargers, but no pen. dang. ok i asked about the other vape pens they sell cuz i saw vise kits behind the counter. he tells me that he can't check the price. "um, what?" so i said, "what if you ring it up?" he explains to me, that he needs my id. so i pull it out. now he tells me, that he can't ring it up to check the price with my illinois id. it has to be an out of state id. and says to me, "you know its gonna be really expensive" .."ummm uuWHAT?" well now, i didn't go to the same fancy schools as this fella so i says alright fine sir, i'll just take these here dranks for me and my lady. it was a struggle of him asking me to rotate my two whole drinks back and forth several times to help him find the bar codes that i already had facing him so he could ring me up. when we finally finish that transaction which seemed to bother him because he was more interested in talking to his cop buddies, i figured i'd step outside to give them their weird privacy and just look up the price of the other vape pen on my phone. so i step outside, google the the price of the pen and its carts. "oh hot diggity, 20 dollars? yeehaw i gots me 20 dollars!" so i go to head back inside to make this prestigious purchase from this all knowing, master of all things gas and cop related, this off brand vape pen for a measly 20 bucks. "wait, huh? what, the doors locked? wuhappen?" he comes to the door and opens it. and says "what?" -hello fine sir, me and the misses would like to purchase that vape pen y'all got there in the window please, if it's not too much trouble. we even brought all the moneys too. so we won't be needin to take out that loan after all. this is when he informs us that, he's mopping the floor. "yes?" and when he mops the floor, the store is closed. "oh damn, your closed? could i maybe just buy that thing real quick, i was just in here. you remember me from 2 and a half minutes ago?" "no, sorry, i'm mopping the floor now. i've already started so the store won't be open for another 45 minutes" as my brain exploded out of my head and just spilled everywhere, thinking about what was so important about the disgusting floors in this ragged ass dump of a backwoods head ass gas station, another commoner like myself was heading in to pay for their gas and was baffled to learn that they could not. would not. should not. no vape for me. no gas for you. no sense at all. this dude should be fired and those cops he was so hyped about should give him a big ol beating. guess i can only dream.

Of course what would you know, at the end of the day it turns out that my tire is almost completely down. So I get my iphone out and check out some of my apps to see where I can get air, before I go though I do call since I know I have limited time to spare. Out of the 6 in the vicinity, this was the ONLY one that had an air compressor machine that worked! Every other location was either out of order or they just didn't have one. I was happy that for .75 cents (wow, what happened to free air, at this point who cares cause I needed a slow leak refilled), I couldn't be happier. I continued to the Shell and even went inside to inform the attendant (whom I spoke to earlier), to thank him for the availability of air. This place did not disappoint, although a shy-sty area.

They always greet me with a smile and thank me for my purchase. The manager is such nice lady. Not too long ago, she went above and beyond her duty as the manager. I'd hit a pot hole and blew not one but two tires. She had her attendant put on my spare and took me in her car to get a replacement tire for the other. Then had him put that one on my car when we got back. She was under no obligation to do this and I really, really appreciate that she did so. Hopefully this business does not close due to the hard economic times we are going through. It's nice to be able to go to a business where they actually seem to care about their customers.
