Friendly, but not helpful. Came in looking for service repairs that I've seen done through Apple Stores before. These guys said that they do everything in house (and charge for that process), until they deem that they cannot handle it and thus need to ship it to Apple, which was what I was looking for to begin with. It would be much more helpful if they could skip that "in house" portion and skip straight to sending it to the manufacturer. And if it's a matter of cost and profits... well, they should've figured that out with Apple before becoming an authorized service provider. Skip this spot and go straight to the Apple Store. Even with the crazy lines at Arden, at least you're less likely to need to pay the middleman an extra sum to get what you need. read more

The folks who work here are very nice and personable. However, I do not understand why anyone would go here now that they have become an "Apple Authorized" store. They are worse than taking it directly to Apple by every possible metric. I went in to have the screen on my iPhone 6s replaced because of all the great reviews I saw on yelp about the price and the speed of replacement (~$100, 30min - a few hours). I also saw they had a $10 for $25 coupon, which would bring down the price another $15, great! I made an appointment and brought in my phone. I was told that to replace my screen it would be $149. To the guy's credit, I believe he just misspoke because he was referencing the same chart that Apple provides which says it should cost $129 for an iPhone 6s screen replacement. Perhaps he thought I had said 6s Plus, which is $149 to fix at Apple. I asked how long it might take and was told that it would take 4-5 days because it would have to be shipped off someplace. I provided my coupon, and the guy mentioned that I could not use the coupon on an Apple repair (this information is not in the small print of the coupon as far as I could tell). I called Apple and asked how expensive it would be and how long it would take to fix my phone in an Apple store. I was told it could take 2-3 hours, and would cost $129. So to recap, by becoming an Apple Authorized location they have managed to become slower and more expensive to fix an iPhone than Apple themselves. Why on earth would anybody chose to go here? The entire point of these third party places is to save a few bucks and some time. Perhaps if there was no nearby Apple store, but even then, it's the same price to mail it to Apple directly yourself. Am I missing something? read more

This used to be my go to place for phone repairs in Sacramento. That was when they had different employees and did all of their repairs in house. I went in to get my home button fixed and was told that they now don't do any in house repairs. They would have to send it to Apple to get repaired and I wouldn't have my phone for days. Also, I mentioned to the employee that I had put an after marked battery in my phone. He then told me that he made a note of my after market battery on the record for my phone, which Apple would read if I took my phone to them if I wanted a repair and that Apple would no longer make any repairs to my phone because he told them I had an after market part on my phone. The only reason I would understand going to Mobile Kangaroo now is if your phone is still under Apple's warranty and the warranty will cover the necessary repairs. read more

Received and email from them (a week later) indicating that Apple had received my phone. Why the delay in getting it to Apple ??? After making several inquiries to get the status of repairs, I was finally notified that my phone had arrived at their location on December 14th and they would be forwarding it to me via UPS even though I had paid an additional $ 14.95 to have it sent to my home after repairs were made. When they indicated that I could expect to received my phone in three to four days, I told them that I would pick it up at their location on the following morning of 12/15. It was a good thing that went to pick my phone up, because to my dismay, they had lost the sim card and insisted that they had removed it giving it to me when I dropped it off. The experience was exhausting at best !!! Any semblance of customer service is lacking !!! There is never a reason to distort the truth. We all make mistakes. How, during a phone call, did I drop my iPhone to the bottom of a 9 ft swimming pool ... again. I could see the screen still lit up with the caller online. After carefully fishing out the phone and turning it off, I emailed Mobile Kangaroo and headed over. Hadn't worked with Kevin before, but he proved to be just as reliable, resourceful and cost-effective as his predecessor. Within 30 minutes, my phone was functioning nearly perfectly. Although there was evidence of water inside my screen and the camera lens was misted, within 48 hours both issues had self-corrected. Cost: less than $50. If you do drop your phone in water, remember: 1. Turn it off ASAP, blot water and wrap it in a dry towel. 2. Don't shake, blow-dry etc. as you may push water further into it. 3. No rice. It's an urban legend. 4. Get the phone into a specialist immediately. As in, right now. Recommend MK and Kevin for your battered, submerged, disassembled or whatever iPhone problem. read more

I hate having to write this review. The guys at Mobile Kangaroo seem like genuinely nice people; they were always polite and I know they tried to help. I don't give 1-star reviews lightly, but I'd be dishonest if I said my experience with their work was even remotely positive. I dropped my daughter's iPad mini, cracking the screen badly, and called around for repair quotes. Mobile Kangaroo was the cheapest I found, and the $10 for $25 offer on Yelp made the deal even sweeter. They took a look at the damage, informed me that since the case was dented, they'd need to shave a little bit of metal off to make the new screen fit, and told me to come back and pick it up the next day. I did, and everything looked good. On the way home, though, my daughter noticed that the iPad was registering touches when her hand was nowhere near it. This is the "phantom touch" problem, and is known to happen sometimes after screen replacements. I called Mobile Kangaroo, and they told me to bring it back in and they'd fix it. So we took it back, picked it up a day later...same problem. And again. And again. Then we had to wait a week while they ordered more screens. Then they replaced it again...and it happened again. After several rounds of this (I honestly lost count of how many times I took it back, but I know that at one point, I went in every day for a solid week to either drop it off or pick it up), they finally said they were going to try a new kind of tape on the digitizer. This tape had a metal backing, as opposed to the stuff they'd been using before, which appeared to be normal electrical tape that you can buy in any hardware store. Once they used the special tape, the phantom touch problem went away and never returned. But we still weren't done, because this replacement screen had a faulty home button. Sometimes it didn't work at all; other times it got stuck in a pressed state, causing Siri to open with no way of closing it. So we took it back to Mobile Kangaroo again. They fixed that, but the new home button just didn't work consistently, and it felt kind of squishy, rather than having a solid click. They fixed that one, but then the screen started peeling away from the case. They reglued it, but it happened again. This time when I took it in, they said they'd run out of the glue they normally used, and had been using something else. They said they'd just ordered more of the good stuff, but it would be a few days before it arrived. They offered us a free silicone case to hold the screen in place until the proper glue arrived. Finally, more than a month after the first time I took the iPad in (I'm not kidding), everything seems to be working as it should. No phantom touch. The home button works. The screen has stayed in place for about a week so far. Again, I don't feel good about having to write this. Kevin and Josh are nice guys; I'd happily have a beer with either one of them. I don't think they were trying to cheat me or anything like that. If I had to guess, I'd say their biggest problem is that they're using substandard materials and replacement parts, and in the end it's wasting more time and money than it's worth. read more

This business - at least the Roseville location - is seriously ethically challenged. Earlier in June, I brought my iPhone in for a $29 battery replacement, per the Apple replacement program. After an hour or so (I went to lunch) I was informed my phone was ready for pickup, so I retrieved it, thanked the person on-hand, and went on my way. I almost always use my phone on the car bluetooth. I was changing carriers, so I needed a new SIM card, as well. After receiving the new SIM card, I tried making calls with the phone via the built-in earpiece. It sounded as if the speaker had become dislodged, as the voices did not sound clear on the earpiece. I contacted the Roseville store with the issue via email, and received a return email from 'Zach' who was willing to see what the issue was if I brought the phone in, which I did. After a time, I received a call from Zach stating there is no way the earpiece would have been involved in the battery replacement process. A repair (which would be a screen replacement) would cost $129 that I would have to pay up-front. Realizing they had me over a barrel at this time, I returned to the store, paid the $129+ tax. Checked for the latest backup, and left the store. No loaner was offered, and I didn't think to ask. Zach then came out of the store to my car, and asked me to turn off the 'Find my iPhone' feature, which I did using my Passcode. A few days later a 'Gabriel' was in the shop when I went to get the now-repaired phone. He popped out the SIM tray, then said the receipt had a residue of some tape glue, which is where Apple would have put the SIM card. No SIM card. Gabriel went to the back office, looking for the SIM card - I heard papers rustling. He then came out of the back room and looked in a drawer - for a micro SIM card, no less - and couldn't find it. He then asked for my backup phone; I had my biz phone, but that was it. He then texted Zach, who said he gave me the SIM card. Not 'I think I may have given it to him', but there was certainty in the message I got from Gabriel. I then stated that it was a flat-out lie I was given the SIM card. Dispassionate Gabriel said there was nothing he could do but offer me a screen protector. I left the store. I then went to check if there was any usage of my iPhone during the time it was in Mobile Kangaroo's care. I found data was transmitted on my phone's account during that time. So to recap: Earpiece was damaged while they had the phone for battery replacement. SIM card was LOST. Store personnel lied that I had been given my SIM card. Data usage while phone was under MK's care. A prime example of a company not employing 'ordinary care' of the phone while they have it, and lying to the customer about it. Go elsewhere. read more

Found this place in the yelp search engine. My boyfriend's iPhone 4 front and back screen was shattered. The frame is slightly dented and the on/off button no longer works. He needs this phone to last him for one more year. We called the place and they gave us an estimate amount of $80 to fix both front and back screen. We got there, the guy took the phone and informed us of his other fixing services. He said to fix the frame of the phone, it'll cost a lot more (which he recommended my bf to just get a new phone) since he will need to fully take the phone apart to replace the frame. He said that he could also fix the on/off button to the phone, but he was out of the proper part (this service was going to be $20, but wasn't too sure if it was that price since he was already fixing the screens). My bf wasn't too worried about the frame nor the on/off button, he was more concerned of the screens being fixed. The repairman informed us that with the frame being dented, it will slightly not be perfect, but he will work with it and would let us know if there are any complications. The amount to just fix the front & back screen was a little over $80 (including tax). The guy got it done in a little over an hour and tested the phone before he gave it back to us. The phone looks brand new!!!! The gentleman fixing the phone was super friendly and knowledgeable. It's a small store next to Starbucks so it's possible to miss it easily as the sign too is kind of small. I would definitely recommend this place for any screen repair service and other phone repair services. read more

Made an appointment through apple care only to have mobile kangaroo tell us they can't do the repairs to my iphone because their system does not function properly and they can't ring it up. They had the battery, they had the tools, they had the people...but they won't do the repair because they can't ring it up in their system. Absolute joke. Apple, in typical fashion, did not help at all and continued to provide AWFUL customer service. That moment when your child completely cracks your Iphone 5 screen. Your chest hurts and you want to cry. Then you call your provider and they tell you with a warranty it will cost $200 to fix!!!! That's what I paid for the phone!!! So I happen to work right around the corner but never much paid attention. Took my phone in and had it fixed in under an hour, for half the cost!!!! They fixed my Samsung Galaxy S6 screen for around $230 (get their yelp deal to save some money). A little pricy but other places were charging me at least $300 or they don't even fix this type of phone yet. I had to put down half deposit so they can order the part (takes up to 3-5 days), the deposit goes back into the payment later on. The only thing that it took 5-6 hours for them to finish so I had to come back the next day to pick it up so be prepare and have a replacement phone/sim card ready! read more

A few weeks ago I cracked my iPhone 4S screen. So, since I've had bad experience here in Davis (Do NOT go to RC phone repair!) I decided based on prices and reviews to go here. So I called and explained my phone's model and situation and the guy told me he could absolutely fix my phone so I went down there. So the price was cheaper than I thought, the repair of my phone was quicker than I thought also. But, as soon as I got in my car to turn my phone back on the home button FELL off. I immediately went back inside and the guy admitted to me that they didn't have home buttons in stock. I just had my best friend replace my home button instead of driving back to fix it. If you do want to go here though, make sure they check their inventory first before telling you otherwise. read more

I called to see if they would be able to fix my phone, and they told me that yes they would but they would have to special order the parts because my phone isn't one of the popular phones that everyone has (apple/samsung). The price they quoted for me was cheaper than the other place I went to but sadly I already paid the deposit at the other place /: Customer service was great by the way, even if it was phone only. Think twice before doing business with Mobile Kangaroo. They are supposedly certified to do service for Apple however I'm not so sure. They for sure have poor customer service but also may behaving unethically as well. Today, after waiting a week for an appt with them to have my iPhone battery replaced, I arrived and was told they did not have most iPhone batteries in stock and didn't think they would for several months. They wanted me to pay in full to reserve a future battery even though they could not guarantee when they would have it. Very fishy. They said lots of customers were showing up upset and when I asked why they weren't calling their customers and saving them the time and effort to leave work for an unnecessary appt, they said they are too busy and think Apple should be notifying their customers for them. This seems like a weak excuse as Apple has no way of knowing every service provider's inventory. It would have been so easy, not to mention the right thing, for Kangaroo Mobile to contact their customers ahead of time. It is my gut feeling that they actually want people to show up in person, pay for their batteries in advance, and lock in those sales. I won't be back and have notified Apple of this incident. If you need service, stick to the Apple store. I just spoke to them. They have ordered the battery for me without prepay and will call me to set-up an appointment when it becomes available. read more

I have tried repeatedly to have this company repair my phone. They are very fast to fool you in regards to cost, their price for picking up your phone, that's if they make it to pick up your phone, was listed as $7.99. This price changes after you have entered your payment information to $37.99, and there is no confirmation screen or any explanation of the cost at all, you also cannot use the back button to get this info. There is no way to contact a live person as they have you text them. They ignore the text messages and did not show up to pick up my phone even though I paid. I have tried their "service" 3 times and have yet to ever get anything other than cheated out of my money. I plan to take this issue to apple ASAP, informing them of this companies poor customer service and absent repair service. I would give these guys a hard pass. They do not follow through, ignore your messages and never call you back. I will also be registering a complaint to the better business bureau. read more

Kangaroo mobile: 70 plus tax, then you buy the Yelp deal = too cheap. Plus homie Kevin at the shop was very honest and didn't try to sell me unnecessary items. Very honest, and humble. Came in yesterday to get my cracked screen fixed for my iPhone 7 Plus. They informed me if I wanted same day repair I need to drop off my phone by 10:30 am and can be picked up by 5:30-6. Since this location is fairly new they don't have certain equipment to do in house repairs for cracked screen (at least not for 7 plus). The phones are shipped to another Mobile Kangaroo store. They offered me a loaner phone which was a huge life saver, I didn't have to be without a phone. Despite some negative reviews, I personally had a great experience and was very satisfied with the service. read more

I took a iPhone 5c to this store after it had water damage. The clerk said he had to send it out to another location to have a part replaced that he couldn't do there. After 3 weeks he said they couldn't fix it. In the meantime I dropped a loaner droid I borrowed from a friend and shattered the screen. I took the droid into the store and they said they could fix it and would apply the money I already paid for the iPhone to the droid. Well that's where it all went wrong. due to circumstances beyond their control, the store was robbed and my phone was stolen.they agree to replace my phone but it took over 3 weeks and still nothing after writing a negative review on Yelp the owner of the store contacted me immediately and said I would have a new phone in my hands three days later. three days later my new phone arrived a perfect replacement for my loner phone. conclusion, although they could not fix my iPhone and my other phone was stolen in the end they made it right and refunded my money. read more

Went online at apple.com/support and made my appointment for latter that morning. There were no appoints available at the Apple Store. (Called MK to confirm. Mobile what? Kangaroo? Is that one "O" or two?) Went by a few minutes early (better than late, right?) and they took care of me right away. Promised my iPhone would be ready in half an hour, it was done in 20 minutes. (I think they wanted to get rid of me before I told another bad joke!) If my old guy memory serves me correctly, I think they actually laughed at one of my jokes. I was rolling around in my garage fixing my motorcycle and my phone was still in my pocket. I cracked the screen and ruined the digitizer. Brought it to Kevin and he fixed it the same day. Very knowledgeable and professional guy. Sometime wasn't quite right with one of the phone components however so I brought it back. Kevin was able to easily order the part to fix it, and within days, had the part in to make it right and again, he was able to fix it within hours the same day. Fair prices which included parts. Highly recommend you ask for Kevin when you go in. Recommend you buy a tempered glass screen protector and a quality armored case too so this sort of thing is prevented... read more

Great service when I went in today. Went for an iPhone 6s battery replacement, expected to have to go in and make an order, and then come back once the part arrived.
