My friend has been talking this place up as she said it's a must stop when in the plaza shopping at Rocket a Go Go. Today I finally stopped by with her to experience, and loved it! The staff member was super friendly and even advised of their current offer of a free original when you spend $10+. This allowed me to try both a drink and food item, which I enjoyed both! With the heat, I avoid dairy or heavier drinks so I went with a strawberry lemonade which was very refreshing for only $5! Love the cute murals on the wall for photos and it was cozy if you wanted to sip in the air conditioned building. I'll definitely return to try a milk tea in the future as they seem to have an amazing selection to try more items. Plus, a Yelp friend suggested their cold brew so I foresee a visit soon because I adore cold brew!
The Tempe location of Mochinut was a vendor at the Lunar New Year Asian Food Festival in North Phoenix held on Saturday the 17th and I am ever so grateful! I ended up getting a 3 pack variety that included the original glazed, strawberry, and taro. I've never had Mochinut before so I figure ordering a single variety pack would be a good way to try it out. I couldn't discern any difference between this and a regular donut in terms of texture. It is definitely less sweet than a regular donut and keeps fresh longer - big pluses in my book. My 2 kiddos took 2 of the Mochinuts the evening I brought it home and I saved the last one for myself to consume 2 days later. The 2 day old Mochinut still tasted as fresh as the day I bought it. A regular donut would've been stale by now. I appreciate how the vendor had the variety packs ready to go so those who want it can pay and go right away. Due to being outside their storefront, they had very limited selections but this was still a great way to introduce their core product to the public who are new to them. The Tempe location I will happily carve out time to visit if I'm in the area. The closer location to me in Peoria is not related to the Tempe store and has disappointing reviews that scares me into not visiting lol. I may still visit anyway if I'm ever over in that area. Thank you to the vendor for the incredible service and making the trek out to this festival!
I love mochi donuts & boba tea, especially Mochinuts! I love the fun decor. The shop was super clean. I ordered three donuts and an Oreo custard donut ball. I was not a big fan of the donut ball. The chai donut was delicious, but the original is my favorite. They were airy with a good texture. The boba was a bit off the lychee jellies had an odd, almost rubbery, texture. I also got an original mozzarella on a stick with sweet and sour on the side. It's made to order and the cheese was ooey gooey - so delicious!!
If you're looking for a variety of treats that are not too sweet and that just hit the spot, look no further because this is the place to visit! We stopped by on Saturday around 11am and it was pretty busy. The location was easy to find and the plaza had plenty of parking. The employees were very friendly and gave us enough time to look over the menu. We ordered one Mochi Donut of each of the following flavors: Lychee, Okinawa Milk Tea, Melon, Original, Matcha, and Sugar. We ordered the following drinks: One thai tea with boba, one matcha tea with oatmilk, a strawberry lemonade, and a white peach tea with lychee. We also shared a hot dog which we ordered plain (on the outside) and for the inside we asked for half cheese and half sausage. The Mochi Donut's were delicious! They were soft - not crusty, flavorful, and we could actually taste each of the flavors we chose. These did not have a "greasy" taste like other ones I've tried at other shops. Here all the flavors had their own unique taste and all were very good. My favorite was the "original flavor" and the Okinawa Milk Tea. The white peach tea was perfect since it was soo hot out on the day we visited. The drink was refreshing and it was not overpoweringly sweet. Th e strawberry lemonade also hit the spot. It was cold and refreshing! The hotdog was another favorite of mine. The outside was crunchy / crispy and the yummy-ness was all in the inside.. The cheese was hot and gooey when I took my first bite. Then a few bites later, I was down to the sausage. The sausage was juicy, hot, and tasted really good! I want to say that the sausage was definitely my favorite part, yummy. The inside is super cute and it was very clean. They have a few chairs along the wall where you can sit and eat your treats. Each location is ran by a different entity so you ought to see a difference in the quality of the food and service if you visit a different location. I will most definitely be back soon. The flavors rotate and I can't wait to try some more! :D
I initially came cause I was craving some donuts. To my surprise they sold more than just donuts. I got the flamin' hot Korean corn dog filled with mozzerella, half dozen of assorted donuts, and lychee tea. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the Korean corn dog. So good! We will be back.
I'm nuts about mochi donuts! Made a stop one afternoon when a craving hit. Mochinut has two locations in the valley: Tempe and Peoria. This Tempe location is in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. I was the only customer at the time and was greeted right away. The friendly staff member was patient with me and answered all of my questions. I went with a half dozen with one of each flavor they offered that day: strawberry funnel cake, wildberry yogurt, Korean churro, original, pistachio, and chocolate pebbles. I also got an original K-dog for my son. Couldn't wait until I got home to try the donuts, so I tore off a mochi ball from each donut on my drive home. The mochi dough was perfectly chewy with a slight crunch on the outside. The flavors were subtle and complement the fried dough. Out of the six, my favorite flavor was the pistachio. My son enjoyed the donuts, too and his K-dog. However, the K-dog had very little meat. It took him 2-3 bites before getting any meat.
I had never had a mochi donut before but my cousin said I had to try it so here we are! We ordered a bunch of mochi donuts and 3 balls to share! Loved them, especially because they weren't too sweet! The custard ball was probably my favorite though! Yum!! The drinks were amazing too!! The strawberry one was a little too sweet (the kids loved it) but the grapefruit one was perfect if you like grapefruit. Got an original potato K-Dog with sriracha mayo and sweet chilli sauce, and an orange green tea with 50% sugar to go for my son! He's enjoying those as I type!! The owner was so sweet! Our family took over her shop! I told her we need one of these in Miami!! Both the donuts and the teas would be a big hit! If you're in Tempe, come check this location out.
The kids and I came here on a very very hot day. My car said 118F at one point. My kids enjoy donuts and the corn dogs so this was the place to go. We preordered and the donuts were ready when we got their. The person was making the drinks when we arrive. Given it was such a hot day; there was no other people in the store. I got the three piece mochi donut: raspberry funnel cake,chocolate pocky, and strawberry yogurt. Also Ordered a sparkling strawberry lemonade with popping strawberry boba, Assam milk tea, original corn dog and potatoes corn dog. All very delicious. Very cute and clean store. The person at the counter was friendly, nice and offered to take our pictures as she saw me doing a selfie. Would recommend and will come back.
I like the soft texture of the Mochinut. Doughnuts come in different varieties and this one is just my style. I don't like the bread variety. A traditional cake doughnut is okay. The Mochinut has a completely different texture than these two types of doughnuts. It is soft and chewy. If I had to pick a doughnut type most similar to it, I would say it is like a Krispy Kreme doughnut in terms of how light and airy it is. The frosting holds most of the flavor in the Mochinut. My favorite is the Hokkaido. They rotate flavors on a weekly basis. I would always go for a flavored mochinut over any of the non flavors ones or powdered sugar or plain glaze. Stores is just the right size for picking up a box of mochinuts to go. Not a lot of seating. Most people probably do take out.
Really cute store. The decoration and atmosphere was very fun and engaging. The staff were very polite and there was barely a line for so many people inside. We tried the strawberry mochi and the fruity pebbles mochi donuts. They were really good. Also nice to find out they are like half the calories as a traditional donut
I tried a Mochinut donut at a recent food festival, and they were so good I had to stop by the actual place the next day. 3 donuts were $9 which is pretty reasonable. The churro & caramel churro are my favorite, and the strawberry funnel cake was really good too, and I got the cookies & cream, which was too sweet for my liking but I'm still glad I tried it. The service was alright here, nothing special, but nothing horrible, mostly young college students working when I came. They have boba, Mochi donuts, and Korean corn dogs which I'm excited to try sometime. The place is clean, and has a little seating area and it was not busy when I went. A Mochi donut is made with rice flour and is so unique, chewy, and amazing I find it better than an actual donut lol
I had to check what all the craze was. Mochinut had big crowd inside their small store. The lines went by quick but lots of people were waiting for their drinks and their special corn dogs. Mochinut had nice chewy texture; fun to try different flavors. Chocolate was my favorite. 3 for $9. It's very airy, fluffy and chewy all at the same time. I'm glad I tried it. I did it y'all. After searching for so long, I finally found Korean corn dogs. And it was so. good.... Mochinut is known for two things.... Their Korean corn dogs and mochi donuts.... Both delicious. The corn dogs you can get multiple styles of: classic corn dog, mozzarella, potato, etc. I tried the flamin' hot cheetos and mozzarella dog... OMG.... It was an experience. Amazing! The mochi donuts were wonderful, too. They have a lot of great flavors, and the donuts are a bit chewier than a standard donut. I also recommend their grapefruit green tea. It was very refreshing! I love this place! I only wish it were closer to home! read more
After reading fellow Yelper's review this new spot, I had to give it a try! Very good, chewy, fresh donuts. A bit pricey, we paid $16.50 for half a dozen. $2.75 each. Taro, Churro, black sesame seed and chocolate with sprinkles were the flavors we selected. All of us agreed that the taro was light on flavor as was the Churro but sesame and chocolate were the faves. read more
Sometimes you feel like a Mochinut, there's no time you don't! - Failed jingles from the Almond Joy/Mounds songwriter. Mochi donuts in Tempe, AND bubble tea?! Uhmmm heck yah I'm going to try it out! I rushed over before they closed, maybe around 5:30ish and there were quite a few other people that had the same idea to sneak in as many orders before 6 PM. Unfortunately no hot dogs were available today but they did have a large amount of mochinuts on the ready. The flavors today (9-3-21) were churro, guava, original, Belgian chocolate, cookie and cream, and caramel popcorn. I decided on an original, guava and churro and I can't say no to a bubble tea menu so I got a brown sugar cold brew and a grapefruit green tea with mango jelly. Since they were pumpin' out mochinuts like no tomorrow they were ready in only a few minutes in a cute little box. The bubble tea took quite a while and there ended up being a bubble tea customer pile up in the store. Add to that the lack of good air flow and it was a stuffy cramped place to wait, and wait, and wait... I give the bobarista credit since she was trying as hard as she could to get those drinks out but maybe she was still getting used to making them since this business is so new. I got the cold brew first and apparently she had made the grapefruit green tea as well but no one was expediting so it was sitting on the prep counter for the longest time. Finally I had to ask if my second bubble tea was in the works and the cashier suddenly discovered it. The mochinuts were delicious! I loved that chewy mochi texture with the fried lightly crisp outer portion. The cold brew was decent. It wasn't the best tasting coffee but it was a good amount of sweetness and creaminess. Now if only they were open a little later to satisfy evening boba and donut cravings that would be perfect! read more
U so yummy Mochinut!!! These mochinut have the perfect chewy texture and they are so lightly doughy that I feel like I can eat a big load and not have a ginormous belly! Loooove the Korean churro and passion fruit mochi ones! They nailed it on the flavors! I haven't tried their matcha and ube flavors yet. Waiting for Saturday to come for my first taste test! The original flavor also gets my mucosal juices flowing! I can eat a dozen of these and not feel like I'll have diabetes when I'm done. Their prices are quite steep. $16.5 for half a dozen so I'll have to curb my cravings, but overall a spectacular mochi donut experience! These guys definitely have their A game face on & are a legit addition & contender to the valley's limited mochi donut options! read more

My favorite place to get Korean corn dogs! They're seriously so good here and service is always amazing. And the donuts are absolutely to die for- I'm obsessed with them. I've been here several times and I've loved all the flavors I've gotten. read more

OMG... Mochinut is da bomb!! When the first reviews of Mochinut hit Yelp, it was just a matter of time until we tried this new local mochi donut shop! As Phoenicians know, the second week of September means we still have temps near 110°, so I had a cold drink in mind... and lo and behold, their cold brew with foam top looked like it would hit the spot! Sure enough, that smooth brew was absolutely delicious! But we came for the donuts... so this is where the experience got even better! We ordered six mochi donuts (for $16.50, as of 9/8/21). We opted for two originals, two strawberry, one Korean churro, and one passion fruit. For me, they were all incredible... but the winners were the passion fruit, strawberry, and Korean churro (like a regular churro but they add black sesame!)! For those on a gluten-free diet (by choice or otherwise), mochi donuts are gluten-free, so pig out and enjoy (but please leave some for ME)! First time trying mochinut and unfortunately wasn't that impressed. I've had delicious mochi donuts before, but these were lacking. Mochi is normally soft and chewy, I barely got any mochi texture. The donuts were on the stale side to me, underwhelming to say the least. We tried the chocolate churro, custard pudding, raspberry funnel cake, coffee, and Oreo. The churro has barely any flavor, very light sugar with nothing added. The raspberry funnel cake wasn't bad, just wish it had more drizzle. It was so thin, it was hard to taste. The Vietnamese coffee was decent, the coffee flavor was strong and added a nice touch. Our 2 favorites were custard pudding and Oreo. We had high hopes for this spot, but meh wasn't that good. read more

Mochinut, where have you been all my life?? I can't get that ooey gooey doughy ness out of my mind! I have never been a fan of American donuts because they are too sweet for me, but now you've made me a fan of your Hawaiian, Japanese, and American inspired donuts. It's not overwhelmingly sweet and the flavor just melts in your mouth! The glutinous mochi inner texture of the donut reminds me of the taste of Brazilian cheese breads at Brazilian steakhouse restaurants like Fogo De Chao except it's sweet instead of savory. My favorite flavors were the Korean Churro and the Almond Chocolate. The donuts can be purchased in 3 pieces, half a dozen or a dozen. Clearly, I've fallen in love with their donuts, but did not have a chance to try their corn dogs or teas which were the other items offered on their menu. I'll definitely come back to try their interesting twist on corn dogs though! I came during the first hour of their first soft opening day. There was a pretty long line that extended outside their entrance before they even opened! They were crammed with orders and the orders took longer to come out with a bigger crowd, but the staff kept their cool and were friendly the entire time. I visited Mochinut during the soft opening. They offer Korean hotdogs, mochi donuts and drinks. Basically, you can get a complete meal here if you wanted to. I came specifically for the donuts because who doesn't love a good mochi donut? I now feel like I have to go back to try the hot dogs because most people were ordering hot dogs and they looked good. It was also during lunch so that makes sense. Mochinut offers six flavors daily and rotate the flavors every two days so you're subjected to the flavors they have when you go. Tip: you can follow them on Instagram to see what the flavors are before you go. I ordered a half dozen with chocolate Pocky, original, blackberry funnel cake and milk pebbles. I thought the donuts were pretty light and airy but with a nice bite and chew. I thought the flavors were good and just enough. Sometimes, donuts can be overwhelmingly sweet but I liked how I can taste the flavor of the donut and the icing on top. I love that this place is conveniently located for so I will definitely be going back. Donuts are $9 for 3, $16.50 for 6 or $30 for 12. Hot dogs vary from $3-$5. I'll definitely be back for more donuts and different flavors in addition to the hot dogs. read more
If you've never had a mochi donut before, run - don't walk - to get some at Mochinut!! This review is specifically for the mochi donuts. After previewing the rotating menu on their Instagram page, I came to Mochinut on a Friday afternoon. To my surprise after watching all of the social media coverage of their opening weeks, there was no line! The six flavors on rotation were conveniently in front of me as I ordered at the register. I ordered 3 mochi donuts (blackberry funnel cake, custard pudding, and milk pebbles) which were all delicious as expected. The texture (slightly crisp on the outside, but with a bouncy, chewy bite) was on par with mochi donuts I've had before. All of the icings/toppings tasted great - not too sweet, but sweet enough to feel like I was having a treat. My favorite topping was the custard pudding, which was so decadent!! My only suggestion for future donuts would be to push the boundaries on creativity for the flavors. Not sure if this is possible depending on corporate, but I would love to see more flavors that offer a unique culinary experience aside from the basic cinnamon sugar, chocolate, or cereal toppings. Ideas: mango chamoy, Mexican hot chocolate, a greater variety of tea flavors, mixing fruit flavors, or experimenting with flavors unique to the southwest or other tastes aside from sweet (e.g., incorporating acid or heat). I would definitely go back if I was in the area and saw flavors I liked! read more
TL:DR - Amazing light and chewy donuts where you immediately understand why they're called mochi donuts. They are fresh and much lighter than Mr. Donut over in Asia. Every flavor we got was great with the standouts being the strawberry and coffee flavor. Coat is very prohibitive, however, with a dozen running you $30. The price alone makes this place special occasion type of place rather than a regular snack attack stop. ------------------------------------- Came across this place in Yelp accidentally and decided we needed to stop in today! I haven't had a mochi donuts since Taiwan several years ago and really hoped this place would deliver, and they totally do. The mochi donut is perfectly light, chewy, and you immediately get why it's called a mochi donut. Lighter and better than Mr. Donut in Asia, despite what the other review said. Based on other people's photos, they seem to have rotating flavors. Today we got a dozen to share, which was just two of each flavor. The flavor in order of preference (best to worst) we're strawberry, coffee, black caramel funnel cake, original, Korean churro, and chocolate almond. The strawberry tasted like the same coating you get with strawberry pocky. Coffee was perfectly balanced between sweet icing with a hint of mocha, cause I hate coffee but loved this. Black caramel funnel cake is just their original with a brown sugar drizzle it seems. I do enjoy the powdered sugar vs a glaze on the original. The Korean churro is covered in crystal sugar and black sesame powder. It wasn't bad, just a little confusing. On one hand I liked the black sesame, on the other it just tasted weird on a mochi donut. Lastly was the chocolate almond, and I just don't like chocolate, so that's all. Ordering inside was seamless and quick. I ordered a dozen and my box was ready for me before I took my credit card out of the chip reader. The place is relatively small with just a few tables and half full on a Sunday afternoon. The only thing that is slightly a bummer is the cost. A dozen donuts for $30 is VERY steep. That alone makes this place a special treat and a place to take out of towners vs a regular stop for a snack. read more

Mochinut Big craze with mochi donuts and korean style hot dogs, so what do you do? Go to Mochinut and get both. Ordered a box of 6 whuch was $16. The flavors we got were original, red velvet, caramel funnel cake, chocolate churro, blueberry yogurt and nutella nutte. Each donut is like a string of little donuts connected together like a pearl bracelet. This allows you to either share and try others or eat as many beads or the entire donut if you choose. Is there one that stands out, it will depend on your taste, but personally I liked the nutella and the churro. We also ordered the potato hot dog, which came out pretty fast. It taste to me like mini bits of french fries on a hot dog. I would recommend this and order it again. Family owned and alot of photo opts to post on social media and an overall fun place. read more
The boba was surprisingly really good. Very sweet and chewy and the perfect texture. The milk tea also had a great taste. They didn't have the hotdogs when I went, sadly ;-; The mochi donuts look so cute and so goood!! They're chewy like the boba and taste of great quality. Even my mother loves it! Protip: Ok if you've never had one, but if you've had Mochi donuts before, I would probably just skip this place. Highlights: The shop is cute and they have rotating flavors. Lowlights: I would barely consider these mochi donuts because they are barely mochi in texture. They are very light and the base for all of them are the same except for the dip and toppings. I don't think there's an option to just buy one. I wanted to order six donuts, but get them split up into two different boxes because I was buying them for two sets of friends, and they said they charge $1 for the second box. I'm already buying more donuts, I don't see why they need to upcharge for two small boxes vs a bigger box. Also the person at the register was obviously getting annoyed that we weren't sure what flavors to get, but there was no one else in line, so I didn't think it was a big deal. Finally!! Mochi donuts in the valley. :) Mochinut is such a cute place and I like how they have Korean style corn dogs and boba drinks besides mochi donuts. It seemed they switch the flavors of donuts once once in a while or everyday (not so sure), when I came here, there were sesame flavored donut along with 5 other flavors. I tried original, chocolate, and sesame donuts, and the chocolate was my favorite. Loved their rich chocolate cream on the chewy and soft mochi donut. Had their original corndog and aloe yakult and orange yalkut as well, but other than mochi donuts were just ok. The sausage in the dough was a bit salty... and the drinks were pretty expensive compared to other boba spots yet their taste was just ok. But I would definitely come back here for their mochi donuts :) read more
Came in for a sweet treat after work. I ordered a half dozen of the weekly flavors. Mochi donuts are a chewy sweet treat. The flavors are fun and unique. I would recommend the original if you don't want something overwhelmingly sweet. I also got a brown sugar milk tea boba. They are generous in how much boba they put in! What a cute little place! I tried the brown sugar funnel cake donut and the little Oreo puff. Both were a perfect mix of flavors- not too sweet and I easily enjoyed both! The box the treats come in is also adorable. Staff was friendly and patient while I made my decision! I would note that seating is extremely limited, so I'd recommend taking your treat to go. One minor hiccup is they don't have a bathroom available. read more

Great place to get your sweet tooth fix! The store is nice and clean with bar seating, and they sell hot dogs, mochi donuts, and drinks. I got the half dozen donuts trying out all the different flavors -- original, funnel cake, churro, coconut ube, chocolate, and custard. I also purchased the brown sugar boba, which was tasty and sweet! My favorite flavors were churro and coconut ube, as the churro was light, fluffy, chewy, and had just the right amount of sugar coating the donut. I also enjoyed the coconut ube since the frosting was mellow and not too sweet, going well with the coconut flakes. I personally think the donuts with the frosting are a little too sweet for my liking, but it's fun to try out the different rotating flavors if you're curious. Overall, I'd come back to try out different flavors and the hot dogs!! read more
I recently had the pleasure of indulging on one of the best donut shops in Arizona. What I like about the donuts is that they were round shaped and easily shareable, crispy and mildly sweet. I also order the sausage which turned out really flavorful that's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors and textures. This place is beyond cool, from this presentation of their storefront to the display of their daily donuts. Everyday they feature about 6 different donuts. The day I went they had birthday cake, ube, churro, cookies and cream, original, and double chocolate. They were made fresh and had great chewy consistency. Then for the corn dogs you could chose to have a hot dog or cheese stick in the middle. My friends and I chose to have the hot dogs. Their original batter was light and crunchy and didn't over power the hot dog. There was not too much breaded where it would have masked the hot dog, perfectly balanced. A cool feature that they did was that you could add toppings to your corn dog! My boyfriend and I chose to do potatoes which were EXTREMELY crispy and crunchy and added a great texture. My friend chose to the hot Cheetos covering and it did not disappoint! Still crunchy and that nice hot flavor! As for the drinks I got the grapefruit green tea. It was tart and freshly pressed. Each time I have ever had their donuts was due to a boyfriend picking it up and surprising me with it. Each time the donuts were fantastic and my kids and I devoured them. I made a swing by here to see what the hype is all about. I'm not a huge donut guy, but found these quite enjoyable. The variety of flavors Mochinut offers and that you can order a 3-pack is what attracted me to this place. Korean Churro, Mango and Matcha are just a few unique flavors they have. If you check out their Instragram page, they let you know what six flavors are being featured each day. This fusion of donuts and mochi are chewy on the inside and a little crispy on the outside. The donuts themselves are shaped like a baby teething ring. Mochinut also has Korean corn dogs and tea on their menu. For tea, I had the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. It was good, but a little too sweet for me. Overall, I enjoyed my stop here and will check them out again to sample new flavors in the future. The lines can be long, so plan accordingly. read more

Great place to fill your mochi donut craving. I've had mochi donuts/pon de ring donuts from California, Japan, and Taiwan. I tried the pudding and churro flavors and was left slightly disappointed. For the pudding, the layer of glaze was way too thick and sweet. For the churro, it was the perfect amount of sweetness but not enough cinnamon for it to feel like churro. Texture was good though and I'd go back to give some other flavors a try since there aren't many other options in the area! These ones def felt more oily and had a stronger oil flavor than the ones I've had in Asia. Also, minimum order is 3 donuts. read more
Mochinut is great! The chewy, spongy texture of the donuts is kind of addicting; it's a unique eating experience. It's fun to see and try the rotating flavors changing every 2-3 days. My favorites have been the Custard pudding and Ube - they are sweet without being overly sweet and accurate taste to the names. I really want to try the Matcha cookie flavor, so I will be back :) My only complaint is some donut glazes melt faster and can get messy. They also have cheese/potato/original k-dogs which are crazy popular right now. If you want to skip the line at Two-hands, try Mochinut! They've got boba drinks too! read more
I got a dozen mochi donuts for my bday!!! I am not sure what happened but I inhaled them 6 of us in one sitting. They are so so so good, light & chewy not the right amount of sweetness. I need to stop by to the shop to get my own pick of what is good here. read more
