MOD stands above the rest who tried to bring the good, the cheap and the fast to this doughy business but failed miserably. MOD is KING. Their crust for me is the reason why I'm a fan. I had not realized this place had opened up. My boss recommended the place to me, so I made a mental note. After trudging for what seemed like an eternity in nearby Ikea, I swung by for a pie. MOD Pizza has much in common with the fast casual pizza places popping up these days. But, I think they do things a bit better. The prices seem more than reasonable. The variety here is really good. Although I find the crackery crust to be just okay, the toppings are the reason to come here. You really can get unlimited toppings on your pie. I do not know any competitors that will really let you go nuts like that . Indeed, if you indulge too much, it can interfere with how your pie cooks. I went a touch crazy with red sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, basil, onions, roasted red bell peppers, whole roasted garlic cloves, pepperoni, italian sausage (mild or spicy), and crumbled meatball. The spicy sausage seemed a bit gamey to me. It had the taste pork can get when it has been in the freezer too long. I asked where they source it from, and they said it is house-made. It bothered me enough that I will probably leave it off down the road, but that was pretty much my only complaint. The flavors on the pie were mostly great. The service was very good. I came here tonight for the first time with my family and we absolutely loved it. Parking is ample, as is common in the Centennial/Lone Tree area. It was pretty busy but there were a lot of employees working and the line moved quickly. The best way to describe MOD is that it's a lot like Chipotle for pizza - you can see all of the toppings as you move down the line and watch them assemble your meal. They then cook each pizza to order in a wood oven (this would be where MOD diverges from Chipotle, but you get the idea). All of the employees were so helpful and nice. When you get to the front of the line, they ask you if you've ever been there before, and if not, give you a quick rundown of how everything works, which is appreciated. You can put as many toppings as you want on your pizza, and it's the same fixed price. We each chose the regular size, which was $7.67. That's an absolute steal considering that it includes unlimited toppings! You can get a child-sized pizza for $5.67 and a "mega" pizza with thicker crust for $9.67. My pizza had white sauce, mozzarella, garlic, oregano, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, pineapple, roasted red peppers, and feta. I was surprised at how quickly the pizzas were ready, especially given the steady stream of customers. The crust was the perfect thickness. It wasn't too bready, nor was it cracker-thin. If you like the taste of wood-fired pizza, you will love MOD. And who doesn't like unlimited toppings and friendly service?! I can only hope that they open one in the University Hills area, and soon. read more

We waited well over an hour to get our pizza. When I went to check on the status , I found that they had set it on the counter where and people were breathing on top of it m, complaining and asking where their pizza was. There are a lot of fast-casual pizza options out there these days, & I've gotten to try them all pretty recently (Pieology, MOD Pizza, & Pizzeria Locale). Pizzeria Locale was okay, but was lacking my favorite pizza topping (spinach). I do enjoy Pieology, but MOD left them in the dust to be honest. I was super overwhelmed by which size of pizza to get, as the 6" looked so small but the 11" looked a little large - however, I'm glad I settled on the 11". I got a create your own with pesto, garlic, green peppers, spinach, & tomatoes, & was not at all disappointed. I was impressed with how the pesto gets put on the crust, & by how finely the peppers were chopped up. I also really liked how the spinach was underneath the cheese so that it didn't fall off when it was cut. The pizza was delicious - it tasted super fresh, & the crushed red pepper baked onto the pizza made it a perfect spiciness level. My only complaints about this place (similar to many other non-solely-vege restaurants) are that there is major cross-contamination of products, which doesn't excite me as a vegetarian, & that it wasn't as fast as I had expected with that being their slogan. However, it was lunch hour & they were faster than Pieology, so I wasn't really complaining. This place was reasonably priced & delicious, & I will definitely be back. There are a few modular pizza chains, and while mod pizza isn't the first, they do nail the concept pretty well. The pricing of the pizzas is great, with an 11" pizza coming in at around $10 after tax and tip. There are plenty of choices for toppings, but they do skimp a bit when compared to places like Artisan Pizza. The service is quick and friendly, and they're very helpful to newcomers. In my opinion, the only flaw with mod pizza is that compared to other places, their crusts are a bit weak. Most of the times, the crust is just a little too overdone to my liking, and there's not much flavor either. I think a possible solution to this could be maybe like adding a station to add seasoned butter to the crusts (butter, garlic, parm, etc) so that the crusts aren't quite as dry and have a bit more flavor. Overall though, I do enjoy mod pizza and go a few times a month when I want a quick pizza fix. read more

The fast casual pizza scene is pretty full these days. We have Mod Pizza, Pizzeria Locale, and Pizzaology So which one should you try? Well forget pizzaology unless eating pizza on a cracker sounds good to you. Your real choices are Pizzeria Locale and Mod Pizza. Mod Pizza is a bit more affordable. A great selection of items, all you can top pizza. Pizzeria Locale is far more gourmet - with fancy mozzarella and you have to pay by the topping. Both Mod and Pizzeria can put out a solid pizza, but I put Pizzeria slightly ahead of Mod pizza. My kids like Mod pizza though - so the kid vote goes to Mod (crazy ingredients aren't their thing) One point of annoyance at Mod pizza is the craft beer. There isn't any (ironic since they have specials on craft beer). There are some beers pretending to be craft but they aren't really craft. Pizzeria locale is far better with the colorado beer selection. If you are in lone tree though you won't find a pizzeria locale close (they are in boulder/denver) so Mod is a great option for pizza south of DTC. read more

Ordered a pizza for curbside pickup via their app. Not sure how a cooked pizza can be ice cold in the center and burnt on the crust by the time I made it home which is about a 1 mile drive. This place is great! Basically the chipotle of pizza. I thought it was very impressive how quickly they churned out the pizzas, and they seemed very effective and clean even when it was wicked busy. I got the Lucy, with artichokes and garlic, and added some roasted peppers. Make sure you ask for some si-rancha on the side. Great texture on the pizza, soft, but crispy enough so that you can hold and fold it (which is the way a pizza needs to be eaten). For what it is, great price and quality. read more

I've been on three occasions now to two different locations and the quality and quickness are bar none! Very trendy and where it's at when it comes to pizza! I live ordering thick crust mod with half pesto, half white sauce, arugula, spinach and basil, artichoke, red peppers and jalapeños and sometimes spicy chicken sausage or no meat. Add all herbs and spices and there you go and galore butter around the rim. I will say that with all the young staff it's sucks to see it's still stays messy around they food trays and people trying to move so fast that I hate seeing food cross contaminate. It really puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes me think twice. There's a couple of girls with an attitude in the Northfield location that will give you the side eye for asking for more ingredients. The centennial location was way friendlier, but less clean. They still get four because I love the concept, live my pizza creation and I know I'll be back. I would like to update: The GM reached out and was very kind. He apologized for our experience and even though I told him I did not want him to send us anything free, he still sent us 2 complimentary coupons. He asked that we give them another chance. We will certainly enjoy MOD food, again. Our family LOVES their pizzas and their salads. We will go back once the ban of dining in is lifted. As for now, we will stay home and stay healthy. :) I am changing the 2 stars to 3. I will update again once we have revisited. We have been to MOD before and were excited to visit, again. We usually go to a location close to our home in Parker, Colorado but today we were over by the location at Park Meadows. We walked in and stayed back for a minute or so to look at the wall with our options. There was a guy with a purple MOD shirt on and a green baseball hat that spoke out to us from behind the counter. With a look of disgust on his face, he said "Have you been here before?" I replied, "Yes. It's just been a little while." He rolled his eyes and turned away. My 14 year old daughter was nervous to go first after the reaction from him, so my husband went ahead. This same guy walked through to put my husband's items on his pizza. For whatever reason, the guy did NOT want to put tomatoes on the pizza. When my husband said that he wanted tomatoes, the guy said, "Ugh, ok." and rolled his eyes. When he was done creating my husband's pizza, he stood behind the guy doing mine and just kept giving me nasty looks. I was thinking, 'WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG!' I was kind and smiling and appreciative the entire way through the line! If not for the nice younger guy that helped create my salad, I would NEVER EVER EVER believe that MOD pizza would be a place I would spend my money at EVER AGAIN!!! The other incident that made me want to write this is when I went to ask for a little more sauce to add to my salad. The kid with the behind the counter looked at me like, 'What do you want?' Made me feel like I had to be a super model or look rich AF to be treated with any respect in the establishment. I proceeded to ask him if I would be able to get a little more sauce for my salad. He said, "What kind do you want?" I told him ranch and a tiny bit of BBQ. He started to help me and then had another guy do it instead. This next guy was a tall man maybe a bit older than that kid. This guy was like the one that made my salad. He was so kind and sweet. I voiced my opinion of how I was feeling that I was a problem for those that work here. He said, "Oh no. You're not at all." Again, he was very kind. This may seem like something so small to some, but for me this ruined my whole dining experience today! I was angry and hurt and couldn't enjoy time with my family. I have now spent my time sending this!!! As for the food, it came out quick and tasted good. My daughter and husband were happy and full. The app was a nice touch. I had reached 150 points, therefore I have been awarded a free pizza or salad. I even gave me the option to forward it to a friend. I am not sure I want to have a friend or family member take the chance of being treated the way we were today. I am not sure I would give it to my worst enemy!
