So I've been twice to MOD Pizza and each time I enjoyed it. I will say this place is too far for my liking. I kept asking my friend, "are we going to Oklahoma? I'm pretty sure we're in Oklahoma." Nope, we were in Mckinney. LOL! Luckily, each time I visited, I wasn't driving and someone else was at the wheel. Anyway, if you care like I did MOD stands for Made on Demand. Now your life is complete, and you can rest easy. It's fast casual pizza joint, and I'm sure you visited other's in the metroplex, but they shall remain nameless for the sake of this review. They've been around forever, and we are just now getting them. The pizza is made in a stone oven. Of course, they have a menu of pizzas to choose from, or you can tickle your fancy by building your own. The prices are reasonable for the size. A little over $8 for the standard crust and around $10 for the mega dough crust. They do have cauliflower and asiago crust as well. My 1st visit I order the Caspian which is BBQ Chicken Pizza. This time around it was the Fred which a Hawaiian Pizza. Yes, I am a unicorn, and I like pineapples on my pizza. Stop judging me. Each time my pizzas were great, and the customer service is top notch. The line may be long at first, but it moves rather quickly. If you like dining outside they have plenty of outdoor seating. This is a great place to take the family and the kids running around seem to like it. The only con for me is the distance. I can't imagine being super hungry and taking a 45 min. drive to eat. I came here for an event and got to sample a lot of the items. I had never been to a Mod Pizza before, but understood them to be similar to a Blaze or Pizza Snob. The main thing for you to know is that you get unlimited toppings on an 11 inch pizza for $7.88. Excellent deal! They offer beer, wine, milkshakes/floats, fountain sodas and house-made iced teas and lemonades. For desserts they have cinnamon strips with either chocolate, strawberry or cinnamon glaze and a no name cake. The no name cake is an all natural chocolate cake with cream filling, note that without those preservatives it's only good for two days. I really liked their normal dough and the crisp it got on the edges. They offer a mega dough (double thick crust), gluten friendly crust and even a pizza salad. You can choose a base of red sauce, white sauce, pesto, bbq or a garlic rub. They have plenty of cheeses including a dairy free cheese. Tons of meats and veggies and a good assortment of dressings and finishing sauces. I didn't notice anything missing that I would want on a pizza- really! I was very pleased with the quality of the ingredients, they were better than I was expecting. Actually, everything was a bit too much with the first bite, but I was liking it by the second bite. I think this speaks to my expectations, I must have been expecting watered down flavors. So at first the blackberry lemonade was way too tart, but then I couldn't stop drinking it. The same thing happened with the tomatoes, dressing and garlic, it tasted too strong or overdressed in the first bite, but then I really enjoyed it. I tried their Caesar salad which was very crisp and the croutons were great. I also sampled their Deluxe salad, which isn't really my thing. I found it a bit dry because it wasn't dressed and I'm not a fan of olives. The salami in it was really good though! The garlic strips came with a ranch and marinara, you can also get their sri-rancha or pesto. The garlic strips were small and crispy and covered in grated cheese. These were a big hit with me, I loved them! Their ranch is excellent, so creamy, and it really paired well with the garlic strips. The marinara is served cold and the sri-rancha is really spicy! They have 9 classic pizzas for those of you that are indecisive. The Mad Dog is a great meat lovers choice with red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mild sausage and ground beef. However there were plenty of options for your desires including white sauce, spicy sausage, mushrooms with pesto, jalapenos, hot buffalo sauce, etc. The only one I really wanted to try, but was too full for, was their Caspian- grilled chicken over mozzarella, gorgonzola, bbq sauce and red onion. Guess I know what I'm going to try next! Of course, if you aren't indecisive, there's always the magic that comes with customizing your perfect pie! Service here is excellent! You will be greeted upon arrival and the entire staff is well versed in their ingredients and very accommodating and friendly. For a personal pizza place, this is a great choice! read more

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful and BEYOND DELICIOUS. I have tried each pizza and I can guarantee each pizza is delicious. My absolute favorite pizza was the Tristan. This location is in mckinney. And let me give you some perspective, I live over in Plano which is around 25 mins with traffic and this location is absolutely worth it. I will come back here 100%. This is my new favorite pizza joint. The idea is simple. Build your own pizza with exactly the sauce and toppings that you want for a flat price. The pizza is absolutely delicious. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. Oh, and you gotta try their version of a Hostess "Ding Dong"! It's awesome and so worth the 2 bucks. You have the option to customize the pizzas as well to suit your taste buds. All payments including tips can be made on the website itself at the time of order. Didn't think I had been here but seems we had about a year ago. Turning the music down will help the employees hear better working mask-to-mask with customers. Took almost 20min for a replacement pizza I was very thankful for - Tristan "add basil, chicken, roasted garlic, & red peppers" = chicken, roasted garlic, & sausage, unfortunately. The staff was super busy with tons of online orders. They also use an oven, not the rolling whatever oven like many places. Staff was very friendly, they just couldn't hear me quite a few times. Paid at 518, texted omw home at 525 (yay), ended up leaving at 550 lol. ------ First visit here & we arrived about 4:40 before the dinner rush. Been here just a bit over an hour now. We ordered a "Ruthie" and it was great! The crust was perfectly crispy. The honey & jalapeños go great together. The custom pizza was charred & overcooked. Tasted like powdery salt. This is probably my new favorite pizza place. How can you beat a $7 11-inch pizza with unlimited toppings?? Not only that but the pizza comes out in around 8 minutes. We came here for their grand opening and it didn't disappoint. They were very attentive with their service and had fresh ingredients which made for a really nice pizza. They also serve a number of different beers on tap which is always a plus. This was my first time going to a build-your-own fast casual pizza place. You come in and pick your crust, then your sauces (they have a few), then toppings after that. At the end they have a bunch of additional things you can add on top of the toppings such as oregano or more cheese as well as some more sauces like ranch or sriracha. I really like all the options that they give for this concept with a wide variety of toppings for your pizza. I'll definitely be a regular. read more

This location was great when it first opened. Now consistently disappointing and we won't be going back. Take out orders - order more than 1 and don't expect them to be done at the same time. Last 3 visits they have split my order so that pizzas are going into the oven at different times - 1pizza ready and waiting at least 10 minutes for the next so the first is cold by the time the full order us ready. Wouldn't go to the length that the staff is rude, but definitely impolite and roll their eyes the one time I asked them to warm the first pizza while the second baked. Ingredients are still fresh but dropped on in clumps instead of spread on the pizza. Seems like a management and training issue but has been going on for at least a year. What's not to like? They have pizzas on the wall for you to choose from (like flash art at. Tattoo shop) but to build your own, the price is under $9.00. They have selections of sauces from traditional red sauce to pesto. Toppings as you can order at other pizzerias and then some. I was here for a Yelp Elite Event yesterday. Awesome event! First off, I'm a pizza lover so this was right on time haha. I was in pizza heaven. Before I go into my thoughts on the pizza I want to commend the staff at Mod. Everyone...and I mean...everyone was very polite, professional and helpful. All smiles and willing to answer questions. Any question that we had was answered immediately. All of the employees were knowledgeable about the pizzas and Tierra even spoke to us personally about the different locations and history of Mod. I also could appreciate the servers actually telling us what the name of the pizza was that they were giving us and what was on it. Seems long he a simple thing but it's sometimes hard to come by. I did not get to taste every single pizza as they planned to give us because we were so full. So while they did plan to have us taste all pizzas I couldn't. So my review is only for the ones I personally tasted. Food: Caesar salad- very good taste. Nice crunch. Good tasting dressing I'm a huge Caesar salad fan. If I could've taken it home I would've lol. If this was the only thing served all night I would've been a -ok. That's how good it was. Deluxe Salad- Different elements such as olives and salami. I liked the salad but found to be a bit dry. So I didn't have much of it. Garlic strips - very big rosemary taste. Can hit you hard but it's good. Very different taste for bread strips. Grated cheese that's good. They were thin strips so that's good. Mad Dog Pizza is heaven on earth!!! I reallllu wanted to ask for another serving but everyone at my table was being so modest and I didn't want to look like a hound lol!! I liked it but ate the least of it. Lucy Sunshine- I decided to try this one because it was already made for us. I'm so happy that I did. I admit that I was scared because I've never had artichoke on my pizza. Like what?? I'm very glad that I tried it. It was great. I took some home and my family raved about it! Jasper- Was a total hit. My husband had some of the leftovers of this one. He immediately asked "where is the rest of this one. I need more!" Calexico- We special requested this one after initially tapping out lol. This one is good if you're a blue cheese fan. You have to be big on Gorgonzola to like it because it's a huge part of the taste. I liked it but I would order this one if I had a taste for that mix. Oh I love the addition of jalapeños. The tea. I can't think of the name of it but it's pink or red. It was very good. I mixed it with the lemonade. That lemonade tasted like some that my grandma would make . Oh and thank you all for being so accommodating with the wine due to the draft being broken. I'm not sure if that costed you all a lot of money to accommodate us with having to provide us the wine instead but I can tell you that it was very much appreciated. I came here for a Yelp Event, and it really was a great experience. The manager Scott made an effort to make every guest feel special, welcomed, and informed about MOD pizza's mission. They really strive themselves on making peoples days happy-all by serving a flat-price pizza. thats right-ONE price for as many stopping as you want!!! This is great for all you meat lovers-as elsewhere those add up so much. They have tons of options for sauces, cheeses, toppings, and "drizzles" that are added after the pizza bakes. They do sell beer and wine. I always over-do the build-your-own pizzas, so I would recommend some of their pre-made pies. I really enjoyed the Lucy Sunshine-it is very fresh tasting! I guess these are independently owned franchises. People are nice enough but they don't have enough staff to handle the volume of customers. Pizza didn't have enough tomato sauce. I love pizza and I love fast casual so naturally I thought I would love Mod Pizza. Unfortunately not the case. I came here after a workout in the afternoon so it was pretty dead with only a few tables eating. Staff was friendly and inviting but the Margherita pizza was bland and really didn't have any flavor. I had to load up with red pepper flakes and parmesan which is never a good size so I'm not sure if I came on an off day or just ordered the wrong pizza? This was literally the dirtiest restaurant I have been to in a while. There has to of been months and months of dust under the trash cans, drink area and all the base boards. Every table was filthy , we cleaned our own. The whole drink area was sticky. It is all teenagers working and they clearly are not cleaning. We did not venture to the restroom. Being new to the area I noticed there are fast food restaurants on almost every corner. Some new to me and others your typical chain. I don't know why but we always drove past MODS without a 2nd thought. I've never heard anything negative about them but neither have I heard anything out of the ordinary about them either. Tonight I had a craving for pizza but not from your typical chain. For some reason MOD came to mind. Read their menu and it sounded good. So many different options. But not too many that you can't make up your mind. What blew my mind was that you can order whatever topping you want at no charge. Who does that in 2019? They would have a lot of business and customers of the place was managed correctly. Very very poor management. Only one person behind the counter. Ordered 2 pizzas and she only put a very few ingredients. Finished ordering and went to take a seat. 10-15 min later I come over to ask about my pizza while she was doing other peoples' orders. I ask her if they are almost ready and she said she didn't even put them in the oven! I was in disbelief and asked why and she said she's busy and she's the only one there. I gotta say, I love MOD Pizza. I have been to this location numerous time and each time, I've had a great experience from the friendly staff to the great pizza. My 2 boys loves it to for the simple fact that they can custom make their own pizza. I, myself normally just eat a piece of everyone's custom pizza so I get a variety of different ones. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread a few times and that was super good. Only tiny con is that they put a little to much garlic for my liking. Oh and the No Name cake, well at first I say it's just a ding dong but it's pretty good. Overall, one of my favorite pizza places. Will definitely be my go to pizza place if I have cravings. Very disappointed in our latest experience with this location, we ordered 3 pizza's for pick up and 1 of the pizza's we received was not anything close to what we ordered-- we received a chicken and mushroom pizza.... the pizza missing was supposed a GLUTEN FREE (build your own) salami and pepperoni etc. pizza. After arriving home we had to drive back and get the correct pizza. We missed family dinner as we have a toddler who needs to be in bed by a certain time. Second time trying this location and I was sadly disappointed. same issue both times. I ordered for curbside at 910. The app gave me an estimate of 925 for completion. I arrived at 920 and called per the direction and was told it's just placed in the oven should be 5-7 minutes. 930 hits , 940 hits so I call. Mind you the restaurant was not busy and many walk ins walked out during my wait. The answering employee says it just came out the oven and will send someone out. I see the employee walk to the pick up area grab the box off the shelf and bring me a cold pizza. Sadly my pizza was actually ready at 925 but had I not called I would still be waiting. while the food is normally good I can only rate from my experience. food was cold and Hard.
