I've been debating on whether or not to even make a review. But I figured it can't hurt. I've been to see Della twice now. We met a few years ago at a IBEW union event where our spouses are both members. She was so friendly and easy to talk to. After crossing paths a year or so later I found out this is where she works. I was in dire need of a new stylist. My hair is very curly, easy to cut too short and is often damaged by less knowledge stylists color application. I also wanted magenta highlights. Not only did she knock the haircut out of the ballpark, but the color was so VIBRANT!!! I loved everything about my hair once she got her hands on it! Best part was it wasn't completely damaged by the fashion color! I came back a year later with very outgrown highlights and wanted a totally different color. Once again, knocked the cut and color out of the park!!! No damage to my hair and she was very careful to not cut too much off my hair. Checking in with me the whole time on the length. Not to mention she is actually very reasonably priced for the service and quality! Services aside, I suffer from SEVERE PTSD and I don't have an easy time with socializing. But with Della it's easy! I am so excited that I found Vy at Moda! I initially found Vy on Instagram and saw all the beautiful color work she did. I first contacted her by email and after discussing what I was looking for we set an appointment. As my appointment date was coming up, i started getting anxious and Vy fit me in last minute, 2 days before my scheduled appointment. I came to her with faded out green hair and she turned my mane into gorgeous, silky unicorn hair. Vy is so personable and creative - she listened to what i wanted, was honest about what colors would work and then took my idea and multiplied it by 10! Christopher takes his time with his customers and pays plenty of attention to detail. Can someone tell me why the stylists kids are always in the salon? Look I get it. Working parents rock and work hard. But hey your clients are looking for an escape and a professional zone when they come pay quite a bit of money to get their service. Kids running around and grumpy teenagers all the time is just not working for you. Plenty of working parents would never be able to bring their kids to work. I get if it happens once in awhile but this seems like a daycare for your kids. read more

This is going to be a bit of a long review because I'm a talkative and descriptive person by nature but it's totally worth it. Whenever I move somewhere new my biggest struggle is finding a dentist, doctor, and a hairstylist I can trust. Ever since becoming familiar with San Diego and trying stylists I highly recommend Lovely. She'll make you look lovely. (Pun intended). I went in my first time just for a trim (I was super nervous because I have long hair and there have been times when they keep cutting away and I've walked out with minus 7 inches:(...) and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I was so happy I still had my long hair and no split ends. She's really gentle and super nice. Then when I went back for another trim she asked me if I wanted a little texture in the front of my face and I had no idea what she meant but she has amazing hair so I told her to go for it and I looked great I had definition that flattered face. She's styled my hair before for dates and done my make up and it's looked great, I've felt so pretty walking out and have gotten compliments from everyone that saw me-- I'm not exaggerating she's a makeup artist, too. She knows what she's doing. I completely trust her. My most recent visit with her it was just another trim and my plain Jane hair got long layers she knew would fit my daily routine, it's low maintenance and just a little something extra for my hair I can't get over. read more

I've been living in San Diego for nearly two years now and I'm happy to say that my search for the perfect hair stylist is now over! When I came to see Vy I hadn't had my hair professionally done in 6 months and it was kinda a hot mess. I wanted to dye my hair black with some hints of color underneath to be able to hide at my day job. In regard to the cut I wanted a trim (since I'm trying to grow my hair out) in addition to a funky undercut. I knew I was asking a lot and I wasn't sure if it would be possible considering the state of my hair. Vy freaking nailed it!!! I went here this past weekend to get my hair trimmed. I have really long hair so I was a little worried that this salon may do the thing where I say "a couple inches" and then I leave with 6 inches less of hair. BUT Sara did not do that! She was already super busy and I didn't call for an appointment before tagging along on my sister's appointment, but she managed to work me in. I love Christopher! My hair has never been this healthy and I have never been this satisfied! I had trust issues with my previous hair stylist and Christopher has helped me get over these issues and make me more comfortable in my own hair. The one thing that I have always had issues with is that I have two bald spots identical on each side of my head that are hard to cover up.
