The first time I got it done was with an older lady. Although, she did okay, she pulled my eyebrows hard where the thread cut me and then she put sanitizer on which burned even more. I have extremely sensitive skin. Next time, I always got it done with the younger lady and I LOVE it when she does it. I just can't recall her name. I went to get my eyebrows done yesterday and someone else did it, she did a good job. I didn't tell her how I liked it because one my eyebrows was thicker than the other so she even it out and I loved the end result. The service itself is quick and speedy, it usually takes me maybe 5-7 mins and this salon offers other services. Check in store or online. We had a great conversation and I will definitely be booking all of my pedicures with her from now on. The price was incredibly reasonable too. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive for me. I've already scheduled a facial to try their facial services out and look forward to that. The facility is nice, updated, and clean and I was surprised to see a store within it with jewelry, bags, and clothes in addition to the usual hair and beauty care. They have a table at the door where you must sign in, answer COVID questions, and have your temp taken prior to washing your hands. Masks are required with very few wearing under nose or as a chin strap. My haircut and highlight took about 2.5 hours total and was was a relaxing and pleasant experience. I signed up for $115 partial highlight and cut and ended up spending $160. (+tip) Not exactly sure where the additional charge came in. I love my hair and it no longer looks like a mousy brown limp noodle. It just would have been nice to know that additional charges beyond the expected would be tacked on. If you go there, you should also anticipate some pretty heavy product pushing for hair care products (expected at almost any salon, of course). Overall great experience. I will be back to Mariah. I had no problem getting an appointment (John schedules all his appointments with an online scheduling site) and was very happy with my hair cut. So happy that I purchased another groupon to go back when I needed my hair cut again. I made an appointment for my next hair cut and was looking forward to it. On the day I was to go in, John sent me a text canceling due to a family emergency and asked when I would have availability another time that week. I totally understand about unexpected things happening and asked to reschedule for later that week. John did not get back to me at all that week or the next so I went ahead and made an appointment through the website (for a few more weeks out because his availability is quite limited). When John did finally text me offering an appointment for a time I was unavailable, he acknowledged that I had already rescheduled and we agreed that I would come in on that date). That day was yesterday. I arrived for my scheduled appointment to the studios where John has his salon. The owner greeted me and when I told her I had an appointment she was surprised as John was not in and she did not expect him to come in. She texted and called him but he did not reply. I waited for 20 minutes. The owner explained that John had taken a full time job and was only doing hair a few days a week. When I grew tired of waiting, I told the owner to let John know that he had lost a client. John has not contacted me to apologize or explain. I am now trying to get a refund from groupon. As talented as John is, I refuse to give someone my business who is so disrespectful and doesn't value his clients. It is unfortunate, as I have been looking for a long term stylist and really thought John was it. I guess I will have to keep looking for someone who will actually appreciate my business.
