I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with both the Flint, and Metamora office. Tim Gabbard at the Metamora office immediately started telling me I "had no story" and he "was not liable for anything" before even hearing what I had to say and admitting he knew nothing about the situation. He continuously claimed he was the "only one there" but never said if he was the manager. One of Modern Transport/Concrete's gravel truck drivers carrying two trailers of unsecured LARGE rocks was swerving all over the road while on 24 causing other cars to swerve out of the way. A large rock (bigger than a golf ball) flew out of the truck and hit my windshield. I was not even behind this truck, and Tim claims the truck has cameras, so that can easily be proven. My passenger screamed and threw their arms up as they watched the rock come flying towards us thinking it was going to go through the windshield, it was so big, and the driver of the truck was going so fast, I would have had to flip my car to avoid it. I laid on my horn for 2 minutes next to the driver screaming for him to pull over and this old man flipped me off and just kept driving. He wouldn't have cared if the rock did go through my windshield and injured or killed my passenger, I'm confident he would have kept driving. I made the mistake of immediately calling Modern Concrete instead of the police and was basically given a run around to call different offices and have my number passed along to multiple people. I was assured I would get a call back so I could file an insurance claim the same day. Big shocker (not) to say I never got that call, and I don't think I ever will. Now I have to deal with the replacement of a $1,162 windshield on a vehicle I've had less than a month because of Modern Transports driver not being able to properly secure a load or control his vehicle. I live in Flint, and I attended my community meetings regularly. I do have recordings of the second half of the conversation I had with Tim, and I will be making my community members aware of how poorly this company handles mistakes their employees have made. read more
