There weren't many people inside but I feel like that's to be expected on a Monday night and 30 minutes before they closed. I really came to try their Strawberry Portner, which was a porter and I am glad that I did. You could smell the strawberries before you sip and once you sip it tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry. The rest of their beers are great too. Ironically, if I were to describe them I'd say they are "modest!" Lol Sometimes craft beers can hit you out of nowhere but I did not feel this way after drinking this flight of beer. Limited menu but the beers are all very good. I love that this place is very spacious. Owner Scott and bartender Sam were very friendly. Even though we came in a couple of minutes before they closed they never did make us feel rushed since they closed soon. We enjoyed hearing the background about this space and how the brewery came to be. They have a food menu but we didn't get to try their bites. I liked that their kitchen didn't close earlier than their bar closing time, which is nice. Overall, I'd recommend Modest Brewing Company and I look forward to stopping in again! read more

Happened to stumble upon this place while trying to find a bathroom near Cin Cin next door, but it did not disappoint! I'm not a huge fan of beer but my boyfriend ordered the "Waffles" while I sampled some sweeter options. Fortunately, I tried the American Apple Cider and fell in love! It was perfectly bubbly, fruity, sweet but not tooth ache sweet which I loved! I appreciated the indoor/outdoor feel of this place. A great area to hang out with friends or stumble upon like I did. The beer is very good. Multiple styles and all great representations of what each should be. The space is great and very inviting. Lots of room inside and a large outdoor area to spread out. How exciting to have a new brewery in town! Really love the layout and atmosphere of Modest! The massive outdoor space with picnic tables & corn hole boards is perfect this time of year along with the roll up doors for the inside space. I loved the retro vibes and color scheme inside too, including the unique and comfortable barstools. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by our buddy Sam; brewer & bartender from North 5th Brewing who's helping Modest out part-time. It was great to chat with him about the beers currently being offered and how Modest hopes to be using their own brew system soon to fill the board with their beers. The other bartender, Mark, was incredibly friendly too; a real pleasure to meet him. The space offers a variety of seating, has beer (obviously) as well as nonalcoholic beverages, a water cooler, and restrooms. They also have a food menu, although we did not try anything as we were full from lunch. We really liked their branded glassware and the flight boards of 4 beers. Very excited for this new brewery! This will definitely become a regular stop for us. read more

This is a beautiful space. The bartenders were all great. Tried the only beer they had that was made by them (more to come soon, but they are brand new) and it was a very good red. I must admit a had more than one. Tried the Chicago'ish hot dog and was VERY pleased with that as well. Can't wait to stop in again and try some new house-made beers and a few other things from the food menu that caught my eye. read more

Fun new brewery!!! Great beer selection. Friendly and helpful staff. Chill, modern, minimalist, clean wood feel atmosphere. Think 70s IKEA type. They have ciders, sours, IPAs, stouts, porters. Tried the pear cider, was smooth and not too sweet. The porter was surprisingly great, and I'm not the biggest fan of porters. They have some sandwiches and hotdogs. Hubby tried a hotdog and loved it! It's great size, came out fairly quickly. This is a fresh new spot, so wasn't busy, but I can see this being a fun and popular hotspot as soon as word spreads! We stopped by this new brewery in the Arts District over the weekend and were thrilled to finally see it open. We've driven past several times, eagerly waiting for the doors to open. As soon as we sat at the bar, we were warmly welcomed by Scott, the bartender and co-owner. Casey, the other owner, also jumped behind the bar to help out, which made the experience feel even more personal and inviting. We sampled several beers and shared one of the sandwiches--unfortunately I can't recall the name, but it was absolutely delicious. The space is fresh, spotless, and thoughtfully set up. They have plans to host larger events in the future once they're fully up and running and begin brewing their own beers, which should be happening very soon. We're looking forward to returning once their in-house brews are on tap. Be sure to stop by and show your support for this great new addition to the neighborhood. read more

Tried Get Reddy (Modest's Red Ale) on a couple visits. Loved it! Checks all the boxes of a great Red. Several lower ABV options so you don't have to be 1 and done...thank you Modest. Free parking...at the moment. It's a little off the beaten path, so very chill and worth going a few blocks past the normal Brew District. Service is great, so you'll be taken care of. This is a great brewery in the arts district on the north end across from the English hotel whereas far as I could tell parking is still free (if it's not, oops). They have a few picnic tables outside with a couple of bean bag toss games. Their patio is dog friendly so our sweet girl enjoyed her time out there. Would be great if they had a bowls for water for their four legged guests. We grabbed a little lunch while there which was tasty. I had the roast beef sandwich and my husband had their hotdog special. Now to the beer. I had their cider which was excellent and my husband had a lager and a blonde both of which he enjoyed. We will definitely come back as the weather gets nicer. read more

I was there during their soft opening, they were still building the patio that day. I really enjoyed the chill ambiance and spacious area to hang out. The beer was solid, nothing mind blowing. But good. Not too many options but again, it was the soft opening. I'd recommend the place if you have a family, pets, kids. It's a good place for that. We are newish locals and stopped by Modest during a walk in the arts district. The place is spacious, felt laid back, and one of the big roll up doors was open. Everything was brand new and spotless. Casey greeted us and treated us to a couple great beers and good conversation, where I learned he was one of the owners and they had not yet had their grand opening! We ordered sandwiches, which we watched being prepared in the kitchen, which were very tasty and fresh. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Popped in by word of mouth; word is some of the top Arts District 'beer tenders' are running the taps. SOLID beers, great energy atmosphere, very happy with the playlist. Parking is left to be sorted, but absolutely a great spot for locals to congregate. read more

Overall fantastic place, open atmosphere, great food (try the "Flippy" sandwich, it's the monthly special and amazing), beer options on point.
