Modo Yoga Etobicoke is a beautiful studio - clean and thoughtfully designed. The neutral colours let your mind relax upon entering. The change rooms are clean, and space is plentiful. The lower level studio offers warmth and very few distractions for a perfect practice! The classes have beautiful, mindful instructors that offer modifications to meet any level needs. I tried to like this place, I really did. But the space is so thoughtlessly designed and about as un-yoga as you can get. The points: *pretty good instructors. *negative signs throughout the space: "no boots, sitting only", "no phones", "no long showers", and my personal fave, "banister/hand rail [beside stairs] for light support only. don't put all your weight on it." hahahaha. I'll be sure to remember to grip lightly as I'm falling down a flight of stairs en route to breaking my neck. alternatively, they could maybe bring the building up to code... *4 of the 5 times I've been here, there have been no hand towels in the washroom. disposable or reusable. *you can use their cups for water if you forget yours *rust and other uninviting stains in the showers *as you're lying in wait in the practice room, all zen and peaceful-like, you can enjoy the sounds of: -water flooding through the pipes every time a toilet flushes -depending on your location in the room, streams of urine hitting the toilet bowls above you -the taps being turned on and off -talking -creaking floorboards it's impossible to meditate or calm your mind whilst listening to all of that nonsense basically, if you want to do hot yoga, this place will suffice. if you want to enjoy it...that's another story. read more

Okay.....it's January 2nd, and after years of being afraid to try yoga, I finally took a Moksha class at Moksha Yoga Etobicoke this morning!!!! I feel so good, so happy, and I can't believe it took me so long to try this. Moksha Yoga Etobicoke is clean, inviting, and comfortable. The instructor was so kind and gentle. She was able to ensure everyone was safe, clear and able to participate and whatever level they were at in their practice. I can't believe I was so scared and nervous to come here. It was such a fun and inspiring class. I'm excited to come back again this week. I am a Yoga newbie! I've been a member for about a month now. The staff and instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable. I love going to classes several times a week. I find the environment to be supportive and encouraging. They also host different workshops fairly often: meditation, healthy eating, posture etc. The only faux pas: I wish there were more classes during the day - currently, they do not have any classes between 11am and 4:30pm. Overall, I recommend Moksha Yoga Etobicoke to anyone looking to get into Yoga. read more

I was really impressed with the facilities at this yoga studio! My partner and I decided to check out a class while visiting family over the holidays, when we needed to get out of the house. The studio was super conveniently located for us, we were able to walk over and didn't need to bother with parking. The facilities are beautiful. The women's change room is bright and sparkling clean (I didn't check out the men's . . . ha!). There are no lockers, instead you are asked to bring your valuables into the room with you, and leave everything else hung up on a hook or stashed in a cubby. There's lots of space so even when there are multiple people changing, it never feels cramped. The studio itself is downstairs, and quite cosy. It isn't too huge that the instructor feels faaaaar away, but it isn't too small that it is cramped. It's just right. The class itself was well paced. It was my first time doing hot yoga, but definitely not my first yoga class in general. While I did have to take a few short breaks to deal with the heat, overall it was the perfect level for someone who has been practicing for awhile, or even an eager beginner. The instructor was friendly, and afterwards asked me how I liked the class, and reminded me to keep drinking lots of water. read more

Came here with my friend on vacation and just wow. It was beyond cold outside and the lady who worked in the front was such a bitch. In the end she did apologize but just because you are mad or in a bad mood doesn't mean you should take it out on people who are taking your class. It was so uncomfortable. read more

The philosophy at Moksha: Calm mind, fit body and inspired life embody the Zen flow of the clean studio space that reflects the instructor's attitudes. I have had the pleasure of taking classes with various instructors who have assisted and nurtured me to learn postural cues to enhance my body awareness, which in turn, lead to more joyful movements. One time, at the end of class, the instructor sang and played the guitar, which I thought enhanced the practice. I have a lot of fun in the classes as I explore a variation of balance poses, forward and backward bends and twists. The best part is that you don't need to have a lot of experience, as the practices are open to all levels, which also include modifications. I go at my own pace to reap the rewards of mental well-being, vitality and new found energy with every yoga posture. Moksha Yoga is perfect for beginners and for those more advanced. I also love the fact that Moksha offers student discounts which fits into my budget! They frequently have promotions on classes or even better free yoga classes (i.e., family day, free for students). Awesome studio to practice at if you live in Etobicoke. I've been to many other yoga studio's in the area and this particular location is very inspiring and welcoming from the minute you walk in. The staff are very friendly and the facilities are super clean. I've been to other Moksha Yoga studio's in the GTA and this location is my favourite by far. Highly recommended!!! read more

I've been going to this studio for about a year now. I agree with another review that their customer service isn't that great, however, my main complaint is the schedule. This studio has the least amount of classes per day then any other studio I have checked - even small town studios have more classes! If it's a day before a holiday and the weekend they will have 3 classes, the last one being at 12. That's not very convenient, I like to have the option of a later class on the weekend. Square one has a lot more classes so I am going to cancel my pass here and start going to sq 1. I also find the owners of the studio to be quite stuck up which is odd for a yoga community. I feel like they don't know how to run a business properly and should probably hire someone to run the studio properly. When I come into the studio they rarely even say hi to me or make eye contact. It's so bizarre. I am supporting their business yet they don't even acknowledge me. Definitely needs some work! read more
