The Molinos are just one of those places you have to see if you're in the area. They are one of many, many attractions here in La Mancha, so the task is managing your time to 'do it all' without getting too worn out in the process.
You don't have to read Cervantes in advance of coming here (or any of the Din Quixote movies), but some info history about the place is helpful yo appreciate more than just the great views.
Consuegra is a nice enough little town. Very, very quiet and not much there aside from the Windmills & Castle. Even with the looming Castillo and Molinis drawing some tourists, Consuegra seemed like a place sort of removed from the attractions that are the only real draw here.
The Molinos are good backdrop and reference for the expansive views stretching as far as the eye can see below across the colorful plains.
The structures themselves are not that interesting to climb up in, but are picturesque especially against a rich, blue sky.
11th C Castillo was closed for the day when I was there, but is a remarkable structure with plenty of history from the Knights of Malta.
If you miss this attraction, don't fret: there's plenty out there. But if you do visit, you'll be richly rewarded with a canvas for great photos. read more
