    Rueben and fries

When we walk in the door, we greeted with very friendly staff. They told us to pick a seat. There were two other parties of six in the restaurant. They old Man was an Irish pub. I got the classic corn beef sandwich with fries and my husband got a cod fish sandwich with fries. We got onion ring apple Tazer, which was a 10. My sandwich was a eight in the fries were hot and crispy. My husband said his sandwich was OK and it needed more fish. Our waitress forgot about us several times and we watched her at the bar on her phone. Would we come here again? Probably not. Their service sucked. As we got up to go to the bar to get our check, the manager told us to have a nice evening and we explained to him that we have not paid yet. I'm not sure what our waitress was doing. At that point there was only two parties of two in the restaurant.

Like waves on the shores of Ireland I crashed into this place after a long day of working. Seeking cold beer and good food to appear. The beer selection was crisp and served with a smile from a friendly waitress who invited us to stay for a while. Unfortunately the food fell short of my expectations. I perused the menu, which is pointless because every time I go to any Irish pub I always end up ordering the Sheppard's Pie anyway and this instance was no exception. Price was reasonable at $15 as was the portion, but overall the dish lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes had a quality similar to the instant variety I used to whip up in my college dorm room, and they buried the significantly more tasty meat mixture below like painful memories of years past. Nevertheless, I will likely give it another whirl as my entire crew all ordered the same thing so I have little appreciation for other menu items which may put on a better show to go with the well executed grungy Irish pub vibe that we all hope to see in a restaurant such as this.

I think the main issue with this place is the lack of staff. From the sounds of it, the kitchen had one or two people back there and they had no waiters when we went for weekend brunch. Yes, they had NO waiters. One of the bartenders had to help us and while she was lovely, we probably spent overall an hour more of what we wanted to just from waiting. The restaurant was probably 60-70% occupied at that time. The food is bad. I had a vegetarian omelet and grits. The omelet was watery but otherwise fine. The grits were more like soup. They were seasoned well, surprisingly. Coffee was fine. Price is fairly cheap for Davis island but still expensive. We got off alright since they comped my bf's toast after he waited an additional 20 minutes to get it because they forgot his order. They need more staff to help, issues like that are less likely to happen. I'm giving it 2 stars because my boyfriend liked his French Toast.

The traditional Irish band that plays every 3rd Sunday.

As a recent frequenter just recently, I've eaten and drank here and listened to the Irish jams on the 3rd Sunday of each month. The service is pretty good, usually only 1 bartender(ress) and maybe an additional person helping serve during busy/peak times. There is a very casual atmosphere and although I really miss the Pink Flamingo who used to sit in this space, I can appreciate the Irish vibe and like what I've seen so far. The one thing from a decor standpoint I wish they would have fixed is, you can see on the floor where a knee wall used to sit. I think there could have been a better job "finishing" the joint. The fish sandwich was very good and sat on a big fluffy bun. My husband had the fish n chips (always the first thing to try in a new Irish spot). Another time I had the shepard's pie with a side salad. It was pretty good! Unfortunately, I think the only decent cider on the menu is Magner's. All in all, I like it all pretty well and plan to be back more and more times.

Every time I visit this bar, I fall more and more in love with it. And, it is located on Davis Island, which is also an added bonus. The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. Yes, it is an Irish bar, but one of those that are not over the top and in your face. The owner, John Nolan, used to work at Four Green Fields and has done a great job making this bar his own. My friend's band was playing there tonight and it was fairly packed. Krissi, our server, did a great job of handling the crowd. She also was very sweet and was always smiling. I thought I had drank too much when I looked at my bill. My Magners Cider was only $3.50!! My friends' beer prices were just as low. When I was here last month, I ordered the Blue Salad and added chicken. It was made with Romaine lettuce, topped with apple, dried cranberries, blueberries, candied walnuts, and tossed in a homemade Vinaigrette. I am usually skeptical about ordering chicken when I dine out because it normally comes out too dry for my taste. Surprisingly, the chicken was very moist and the salad was very good. The serving portion was enormous and I was able to take some home and get two meals out of my leftovers. The Irish flag was a cute little touch too! Tonight I ordered the Pear and Arugula Salad and added chicken. This salad was a simple salad tossed in a homemade blackberry vinaigrette dressing topped with candied walnuts and shaved Parmesan cheese. I thought that surely they couldn't get it right with the chicken again, but it was perfect! The salad was delicious and I was excited to have leftovers again but the bestie's husband ate it when I was socializing and not paying attention! The bestie ordered the Guinness Onion Rings. I only had a small bite, but wow. They were delicious, as well! First downside to Molly Malone's is that it is located in a small plaza with limited parking (ergo, the four stars). The second is that there only one restroom for women and one for men. But, don't let that stop you from going, go because of the great vibe and the food is actually enjoyable here. Also, great place to watch sports with huge TVs!

Service is definitely slow but the food was good! They have a full bar and a nice menu. Great spot to eat breakfast after work.

The Reuben is fantastic. The music on the weekends can be a lot of fun. They also serve the best breakfast on Davis Islands.

We don't get to South Tampa/SoHo often, so when we ended up in the area late Friday afternoon, we knew where we wanted to stop for drinks & dinner. First, the inside is very small! But it has an old, historic vibe that I love. The bathroom walls were heavily covered in graffiti (which I thought reminiscent of NYC punk bars like CBGB), however, the actual restroom facilities were spotless. As it wasn't dark yet, we decided to sit outside on the patio, and enjoy the pleasant weather. With only a few patrons sitting at the patio bar, and no one at any tables, we weren't sure of the ordering protocol. After nearly 10 minutes of wondering if we needed to order at the bar, a cheery server came over to help us. I'd forgotten the Dubliner only serves beer & wine - no liquor. But our waitress, Jamie, was incredibly helpful in suggesting something on tap that I would enjoy. And I loved my Angry Orchard draft ale (or was it cider?)! Choosing what to eat was more difficult! Although the Dubliner has a small & limited menu, we just couldn't decide.... So we agreed to split a couple of dishes. I ordered the Shepard's Pie, and was NOT disappointed! Perfect balance of meat, vegetables, mashed potatoes & cheese. Hubs ordered the Irish Nachos, and we loved the use of waffle fries instead of tortilla chips. We also split a bowl of Bacon & Potato Soup with toast... I could've made a meal of that deliciousness! Sooo good. We'll definitely be back for more of the Dubliner! I have no idea if this is a true representation of an Irish bar, but I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. And we can't wait to try the fish & chips on a return visit... We saw a couple of plates delivered to a neighboring table before we left, and were stunned at the mountain of fried fish! I'd also like to sit at the big, old bar inside, and experience that ambiance.

You're seated in these small, semi-private rooms with an open doorway, so you can kind of see other people, but it still feels secluded and tucked away. I honestly loved that setup. It felt like our own little space without being completely closed off. Now let's talk about the drinks... I love whiskey, and the chocolate chip cookie old fashioned was AMAZING. Super unique and honestly one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. We also got the banana foster and it did not disappoint. Everything felt elevated and worth the price. Yes, it's definitely more expensive than just going out for ice cream, but the whole experience makes it worth it.
