I've been here several times in the last couple of months with my new mom coffee group. We've been getting here at the crack of dawn and they are usually open when they say they are going to be open (at 7am). Occasionally, though, we are waiting a bit for the cafe to be set up, but it hasn't been that much of a bother.
The coffee here has been hit or miss. I've had a flat white with vanilla on multiple occasions and find it inconsistently prepared. Sometimes, it's great. Sometimes, I'm wondering where the vanilla went and why it tastes more burned than anything. I will say that the barista has kindly let me order an "iced flat white," which we further clarified between ourselves meant a shot of espresso, vanilla and cold milk over ice. This was nice.
I've sampled a number of the breakfasts and have been disappointed several times (by the breakfast burrito especially). The museli with fruit has been consistently good, so I keep getting that. My friends have ordered the blueberry pancakes and said they were nice.
There is an ample amount of indoor and outdoor seating, but it can get pretty crowded during tea time and lunch time, being right across the street from the hospital. I'd say if you are at the hospital, it's a nice place to go to avoid the hospital cafeteria, but if you are out and about in Hamilton, there are many, many nicer places to grab some coffee and a bite to eat. read more
