The tikka masala paneer momos were startlingly good. I haven't had such standout food in awhile - unique menu item and executed with perfection. The momos are pan-fried and then smothered with the most decadently rich and umami-packed sauce. Just half a plate was enough to fill me up because I also lapped up the sauce! It tastes good on everything and by itself. We also got the Chicken Daal Bhaat, which was a well-balanced plate of food with a chicken dish, lentils, broccoli, pickles, and dessert (though I can never appreciate gulab jamun) and more mild in flavor. But it was hard to top those momos. It's like seeing the headliner of a concert before the opener... just not a fair comparison. Overall, meal was amazing. Also love the stunning wooden tables that look like they're cut out of a single piece of wood. The only downside is their decor looks like they inherited the spot from a pizza joint and doesn't match the elegance of the tables. The TV coverage of Nepal travel destinations could also be nixed (or turn the volume way down). But for that caliber of food and the reasonable prices to get (very, very) full, these minor annoyances are easily ignored. We'll be back! read more

Hands down my favorite Indian/Nepali restaurant. The momos are the best I've had on the Peninsula, especially the steamed lamb and the tikka momos! Aside from that, all their food has been great; I haven't had something I have not enjoyed. The seasoning is always well balanced and flavorful, without being overwhelming. Was an okay experience for me. Chicken tikka masala - sauce needs a bit more flavor but still good with rice and enjoyed it. However the chicken was bland and a weird texture - stringy on the outside and chewy/hard/rubbery on the inside, not sure if it was overcooked but had a weird texture for chicken. I pulled it apart to look at the inside and seemed fully cooked. Salmon Tandoori- was bland definitely needed some more seasoning. It was pink like it was cooked in pan. I was expecting it to be red from the spices and charred and smoky from being cooked in a clay oven. The service was great. The place is comfortable. The people are nice but unfortunately I will not be back. read more

This place is fire. Ever. Single. Dish. Slaps. Full rich robust flavors pushed to the edge to explode on your palate, shockingly flavorful. Why shocking? Because they do it without a ton of chili--or barely at all. That is freaking tough. To add a bit of heat and spice, but without taking the easy way out. Love love love, what a revelation and find. We were limited in what we could order because I'm doing a vegan thing. The veggie momo's (we got fried, not steamed) were perfectly browned and crisped exterior, with a moist interior, and this is coming from me as someone who's not a huge fan of fried stuff. And their spinach pakora? OMG, for the love of all that's good in this world, please do yourself a favor and get them! Robed in chickpea flour they are so much like my Mom used to maker them, with what tastes like a kala mirch, black salt and other super distinctive Indian snack spicing. I'm warning you: they're addictive. We found ourselves nearly polishing off the entire plate. The puri with potato fillings are good, just don't expect it to be chaat from Sunnyvale, but damn, from a Nepalese place, it rocks. Their tadka daal is exactly what you'd want in a lentil soup. It blows me away that in one restaurant, you can get both lentil soup and hot and sour soup. Their garlic nan is fantastic, the only caveat being it's not what you'd get in a Pakistani place (very thick and fluffy) nor exactly what you might get in a purely Indian restaurant (more airy and with more loft). Maybe this is the Nepalese version? It's good but more thin and elasticity to the dough, a smattering of garlic and not overwhelming. The star of the show? Their vegetarian biriani. OMG unbelievably beautiful balanced flavors and the fresh crispy crunch yet cooked vegetables, cauliflower and carrots, onions, and bell peppers ... the finishing touch which lends a mystical touch? Fried onions and some Bermuda raw onion on top, with cilantro.The rice cooked with perfect consistency and the spicing done inlayers upon layers for that incredible flavor profile. It's unmistakably Basdmati grain cooked so that it doesn't clump together nor separated, it holds all the vegetables in a seamless way. The flavors are stunning. If ever I want to eat meat, this would be the occasion and the reason for it. I can easily imagine that chicken, lamb or goat could easily be the ticket in this biriyani. Biriani is a very difficult dish to pull off well. Trust me, I've had my share of crappy birianis, where one spice easily overwhelms all else, and renders the whole thing inedible. --I've been spoiled because my Mom, aunts, and sister-in-law make a helluva a banger of birianis. When our server bought our little tureen of biriani and I saw the fried onions on top, I knew this was gonna slam home. It's the piece de resistance of art. The prices are super reasonable, especially for their generous portions, and customer service is on the ball, super warm and sweet and friendly. They're slammed on the Saturday evening we went and seemed to be doing a brisk take-out, all the servers running around and working super hard. I love their interior, which has two big screens.v.s in the background--but guess what each t.v. play? Nope, not sports. Thank-god. Yawn. Not programs or movies or shows. Gorgeous shots of Nepal, snow covered peaks of mountains, and nature shots, flowers blooming everywhere, each season showcased. It makes for a serene, unusual dining experience. I hate when the intro is like a sports bar, loud and noisy. This place is the opposite: civilized and lends itself to conversation. Street parking is a bit tough, especially at peak meal times. But there are a couple of free parking lots around the block. This is new place and already their game on, kitchen turning out fire food. They understand the difference between flavor spicing and heat from chili, the refined sophistication of layering spices and respecting ingredients, executing technique ... my husband and I stoked to have this as an option. read more

We saw this place on Door Dash a week ago & decided to give them a try. The food was wonderful; the butter chicken tender & in a perfectly rich spicy sauce. The nahn was wonderful with perfectly done bread & the perfect green onion to bread ratio. My mother enjoyed her vegetable berioni which she shared some with me & it was wonderful with fresh vegetables, perfectly done rice, & a spicy sauce. Why the three stars, the porsions were pretty small for the prices; $19.00 for my chicken & probably a little cheaper for my mother's dish & the bread. I can get standard porsions elsewhere. I hope they change things; but, until then, we will not be ordering from here. read more

Be aware of their lunch special -- they basically give you free rice and a drink. When I mentioned that their menu says all curries come with rice, they told me it's an old menu. The chicken curry costs $17.50, and everywhere else I've been, it usually comes with rice and you just buy a drink for $2-3. Food quality is average. read more

We've been eagerly waiting for this place to open since we haven't had much Nepali food. It was amazing. The first thing that you see is the giant, beautiful mural of the Himalayas. The service is very friendly and quick. However, the best part was the food. We had the chicken momos, chicken 65, and gobi Manchurian. The momos were larger than other restaurants and had great flavor too. The spices of the chicken 65 had us wishing we ordered another plate. We would eat cauliflower everyday if we could match the sauce and crispiness of the gobi Manchurian served here. Will definitely be back to try some of the more interesting menu items. read more

The dish is more flavorful than the classic chow mien and the portions generous. It was so delicious and full of chicken and pork that it ended being a full meal by itself. They are smaller than what you get served in any other Indian restaurant. The size of their servings is for one person and not for sharing. I ordered the chicken tikka masala lunch special which included naan, soda and a dessert donut honey type thing and it was all delicious and a good size serving, plenty of naan and a bunch of white meat in the CTM.
