My family and I were traveling around Germany and Austria and was eating bratwurst, schnitzel,…read morepretzels and potatoes for many days so we were all craving to something a little more light and healthy. We were a party of 5 and each of us ordered a lunch set which ranged from €13-20. My daughter ordered their salmon bento in which I was told the fish was moist and tender. The bento also came with 3 small pieces of chicken katsu which was also very good and everyone enjoyed the salad which was very much needed and appreciated. My son ordered their sushi lunch which came with 6 pieces of nigiri and 1 small roll. The nigiri had 2 salmon, 2 tuna, 1 shrimp and 1 a type of white fish which I forgot what it was. The fish quality was a little below average. It's not that the fish is not fresh. It's just not of good quality. I'm also a little shocked that they gave him double salmon and tuna which means they have very limited fish variety available. I ordered their chirashi and got an extra piece of octopus and 2 pieces of tamago. Again, the fish quality was subpar. Overall, having Japanese food after many days just meat and potato was a breath of fresh air so we all did enjoy our lunch. But the food quality was very average. The service was also extremely slow. We were also served food without any utensils and we ended up getting them ourselves so not a very good choice if you're in a rush.

Service way ok, although they wouldn't let me sit at the bar even though I went by myself and I wish they would let their guests choose where to sit since the place was nowhere near full. Kai might be good for Innsbruck standards but I wasn't impressed. I'd like to try the tempura udon next time I'm there, though.

This is the St Moritz offshoot (although strangely not on the global web site of Nobu) of the…read moreinternationally acclaimed Nobu restaurants from Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the inventor of a new type of Japanse food. They serve a shorter menu than many of the other Nobu restaurants but all the classic dishes like the Black Cod with Miso are there. The sushi were ok (hard to make the difference between those and the sushi from much cheaper real Japanese restaurants across Europe). But in summary it was excellent, with good fast service and in the amazing setting of the Badrutt Palace. A trip to the Palace is I guess a necessary stop in a St Moritz trip and the restaurant is located in a very pleasant room with elegant and comfortable wooden chairs. Not sure how often Nobu himself is there though The only downside is the price really so we won't do that every night!

What is noteworthy about this place during Christmas is the clientele, as this hotel is where Europe's elite converge during late December, mixed with a few middle easterners and Russians. They engage in a delightfully conspicuous gameshow of "who came out of the most expensive vagina and can prove it by how they dress", which is amazing to watch. You get the sense that the only people who "earned" their wealth in this old money crowd are the young attractive females sitting with the decrepit older well dressed men, both staring at their mobile phones for most of the meal. This place is perhaps worth it for the people watching alone!
