I stopped in two nights ago and ordered a bean burrito to go. It was my breakfast the next morning. I didn't realize it was also Taco Tuesday. Service was very friendly and the food came out fast. The burrito was huge and gave me two meals. The mild salsa was tasty and the chips fresh and crisp. There were even cut limes at the salsa bar. It was a cool night and an hour before closing so there weren't many people inside. The only large table of diners looked to be university employees. There is more outside dining. I've seen this place bursting with people during the school year and that always kept me from eating here. The building is nicely decorated with an impressive mural facing Campbell Avenue. Some of my favorite street tacos here in Tucson. The El pastor is super tender and the pork melts in your mouth. Their Sonoran Dog is also under rated in my opinion. It's piled high and a great value for the cost. The folks are also super kind every time I come in as well. read more

I cannot believe yesterday was my first time trying Momo's! The inside is pretty small, but there is still plenty of seating. There is just counter service, and they will call your number when the food is ready. I came on Taco Tuesday, so I opted to get tacos for the discounted price. I ordered a Birria Taco and a Grilled Mahi Mahi Taco. One touch that I enjoyed was with your receipt you are given a little bag to grab chips from the self serve bar. There are also three kinds of salsa to compliment the chips. The food came out fast and hot! I enjoyed both tacos and found the tortillas pretty sturdy. The sauce on the mahi mahi tacos was a spicy but still tolerable. I will definitely be back to Momo's if I ever need an affordable, delicious, and quick meal! read more

I've been coming to Momo's for five years now. A friend first introduced me during my freshman year, and I've been coming back ever since. The staff is always super friendly, and you can really tell it's a family-run place. The restaurant is consistently clean and well-organized, and the happy hour prices are unbeatable -- especially in 2026. They also offer great drinks, good food, and excellent value. The service is slow but when you pregame at this place and there's 2 bartenders for 150 people you know these guys are busy and doing the best they can under heavy fire ! The ambiance is incredible with enough "tacos de ojo" surrounding this little hole in the wall that makes you want to come back. Please do NOT eat at Momo's Mexican Restaurant if you expect basic responsibility from management. As my 17-year-old daughter entered through the back patio door, a metal floor grate next to the entrance collapsed and her leg fell through into sewage up to her thigh. This was shocking and unacceptable, and completely ruined our visit to Tucson on 12/27/25. Fortunately, she was not seriously hurt. What made this experience truly awful was management's response, or lack of one. The manager and owner refused to come to the restaurant, speak with us, and provide any contact information. Instead, we were told secondhand that the manager reviewed video footage and falsely accused my daughter of "jumping on the grate." We were denied access to the alleged footage and left on our own to deal with the situation. No apology. No accountability. No effort to make things right. We had to purchase replacement clothing ourselves due to contamination. The safety issue alone is concerning, but the complete absence of ownership or responsibility is why this restaurant deserves this review. read more

A popular spot near the University of Arizona especially on Taco Tuesday nights. They have a promotion on Tuesdays and a daily happy hour from 2-5pm. The food is always good in my experience. I usually order 4 carne asade tacos on corn tortilla with one carne asade fry for two people. They usually have chips and salsa bar available but not this time. Service was running behind and the cashier was trying to rush my order. It will get pack during game days so come prepared. read more

It's a cheese sauce they use, with a little bit of fresh cotija on top - it was just right! I think you save a little bit of money using their self serve salsa/chip bar too! It was Taco Tuesday, so I got 4 tacos: shrimp, mahi mahi, al pastor, and birria. The seafood tacos were $3 each, the others $2.50 each. I enjoyed them all, especially the meat ones. Great service started out our first visit to Momo's and they helped us pick out some of the more popular items like the street tacos. We tried chicken, steak, birria, and mahi mahi. The steak and chicken were the favorites. We also got a birria burrito and it was meaty and well proportioned with fluffy rice and well seasoned beans. We also loved the complimentary chips to enjoy the salsa bar. The creamy green salsa was outstanding! We all left stuffed and happy, would definitely recommend a visit! read more

The street tacos were very good. I ordered vegetarian tacos, mahi-mahi tacos, and grilled shrimp. The Shrimp and Mahi were delicious. The vegetable taco I could not eat. It was not good at all. The issue was the menu read lettuce, tomatoes and cheese for the vegetable tacos... they added mushy chopped zucchini, corn, and beans. It was not good at all. But outside of that the other two were great. I just recommend checking your to go order before you leave. I still give them 5 stars because one issue should never override the great parts. And the customer service was wonderful. I will definitely go again and again. FYI: sorry for the empty container picture, but I started eating them before I took the picture. Came here with my mom wanting some shrimp tacos and an adult beverage. Christopher greeted us and took our order very thoroughly. We both got two shrimp tacos ($4) each, Ordered a side of rice ($2.50), and beans ($2.50) I got a beer ($6) and she got the margarita ($7). We also got a bag each to fill up with chips (free). There was a bar with different salsas and limes which was a great perk. Our food came out quickly and was good. The shrimp tacos had a lot of shrimp in them which was appreciated. The side portions of beans and rice were great, especially for their price. We came on a Wednesday evening and it was not crowded. The seating area was also spacious and clean. Towards the end of the night my mom was strangling from taking a sip wrong and I looked around for water. Christopher helped me without hesitation and with concern. He also provided my mom with a courtesy bottled water to make sure she was okay. I appreciate the above and beyond customer service and experience. I feel like I'm the last person to discover this taqueria, but better late than never! Momo's is serving up fresh, flavorful, and balanced Mexican meals. What I've had: -Burrito al pastor. Black beans, Spanish rice, pico, and an exceptional tortilla make for a solid meal. Absolutely love how it wasn't greasy at all like a lot of places. It wasn't a salt bomb, either--I could appreciate the flavors going into this. The rice is better than anything Chipotle could dream of! -Carne Asada tacos. Tender, smoky, great sear on the meat. I could eat so many of these. Even better with salsa verde. There's a bar inside too, but the only noteworthy items were Dos Equis, Corbett Brews on tap (which I enjoy often! Check out their taproom!), and margaritas. But honestly, that's all I need. I wish there were more (and better) salsas. I wish the 2-5 Happy Hour would move over one time zone. But I'll be back for more carne, and throw back some margs with a smile on my face. When you're craving Mexican food, Momo's is good! read more

We stayed in Tucson one night and I knew I needed to try this place. We got a variety of tacos, the specialty hotdogs, and a prickly pear marg. I was shocked by how good these hotdogs are! I never expected to like them and I find myself thinking about them and trying to figure out how to make at home! Everything we had was so good and fresh! The Mahi bowl was a pleasure to eat, as always, but the meat on the Birria taco was surprisingly dry, and the meat on the Carne Asada taco was too heavy on the burned/grilled taste And there's always something up with the toilet in the men's room. I've never been here when there wasn't an issue. It's weird. There's a piece of cardboard instead of the usual porcelain cover on the tank. Today the toilet bowl is filled up with paper towels. There was no soap in the soap dispenser, either. Bathroom could use some attention. read more

Starting off, I love this joint. It's the perfect escape for a college student who wishes to get some good food and good drinks and relax a little in a social environment. Everything they have, from the carne asada fries to the pitcher margaritas, is great. I've gone here a handful of times, as it's walking distance from my place, and each time I've left with satisfaction. The service is great, and the food comes out fast with little wait time, and they have TVs plastered on all the walls, so whatever games are on, you can watch. Once you make your order, you have access to a salsa and chip bar with sauces that are delicious. The prickly pear margarita is my personal favorite, and usually, 3 gets me right. We are visiting from out of town and the town we live in has a plethora of VERY good Mexican Food so we have a fairly high bar when it comes to Tacos! These met that and then some. I ordered the Barría, the Mahi Mahi, and the El Pastor. I couldn't even pick a favorite because they were ALL perfection. I am gluten free and they were able to easily accommodate that and seemed knowledgeable about was and was not safe for my allergy. The service was great - very nice girl working the register. GREAT tacos! I will say that I was expecting the Birria taco to have some broth for dipping on the side, but it came out plain with some cilantro. So it seemed like it was missing a little flavor, but their AWESOME salsas make up for the flavor loss. The carne asada and mahi mahi tacos were amazing as well. Drive by this every day on Campbell, has a dope street mural on the side of the building, so I decided to stop in for lunch. This place has the best tacos I have eaten in Tucson! They have a salsa bar so you can get whatever and however much salsa you need, and they have a large rectangular bar in the middle of the dining room in case that's your thing. The staff are polite and helpful if you need suggestions on what to order. I definitely will eat here again--highly recommend:) read more

Excellent quick Mexican food! We came here about 20 minutes before closing and ordered a couple of bowls - one shrimp bowl and one Mahi Mahi bowl. The food was made fresh - you can actually see the whole kitchen if you sit up at the bar. We were in and out of there pretty quickly and prices were reasonable. They have plenty of parking in the back and seating for about 20 people inside. They had several takeout orders come through while we were there - I can see why this is a popular spot! read more
