My step mom explained that the beer tasted like vinegar and nicely tried to explain it was probably the end of the keg. The bartender then proceeded to get mad at her and said that it's a "mead" and that's why it tastes like that and so on and so on. Later when another member of my family went up to get a drink the bartender realized he was in the wrong and gave my family member a drink to give to my step mom, after realizing she was right and the keg was empty. Not even an apology. My drinks were fine, it was a nice beer but after what my family went through will not be returning.

The musicians are incredible - Darcy, of the gravelly voice introducing the artists, brings in the best of the best. Not only will you get to listen to great music, you will be treated to the stories behind the songs. Typically there is a selection of CDs made by these artists and more often than not, I return happily to my table anticipating the new ear candy I'll be enjoying. There is not a bad seat in the house - from a viewing as well as a listening standpoint. In fact, the musicians more often than not will comment on how pleasurable it is for them to perform there. Go to the Blue Moon website and you will see the current schedule, which I am happy to say is filled through the end of the school year. There are links to every artist's website where you can learn more about them and listen to samples of their music. In all the years I've gone to Blue Moon, I have never been disappointed. Living in Chicago now, a Guinness runs me $4-6. Paying a buck for a Guinness is a treat; paying ten bucks for ten of them is sublime. They bring in really talented local and non-local bands. It is a small place with a very personal feel. If you want to meet the band, you'll be able to. The cafe is cheap, the music sounds great, and it has a warm atmosphere. What's best is that they focus on social change, and act on it through the products they sell, the coffee they brew, and the bands they bring in. You must check this place out!!

The couple attends concerts at the theater often so it was lovely to know having their wedding there meant so much. My partner and I watched the wedding from the balcony where the view was spectacular and were easily able to move around the upper level and main level when we wanted to mix and mingle during the reception. If I could watch every wedding from that vantage point, I would; so cool! The venue allowed outside catering, so we had the couple's favorite local barbecue. The serving line moved fast and I was glad for the space allowed to line up all 150+ of us. The stage was used for a dance floor later in the night. Though small, it was a fun experience. The stage is a bit difficult to navigate around as there is only one set of narrow steps in the front. The lights also contribute to making the dance floor a bit warm.

They serve cheap drinks in plastic cups and comfortable seating. The double doors opened into a larger area with the stage, another bar, and seating along the back wall. It was a great show, but I thought the sound was somewhat distorted. I'm not sure what the issue was, but I saw everyone having a great time. We were able to stand pretty close to the stage. They deserve special recognition for booking Charlie R., as he doesn't come up north too often from Texas. After the show, he was led away for the meet and greet, which was organized and such a treat.
