Not really hard or excessively chewy that your temples hurt after eating a few pieces. It was pretty salty, but all beef jerky is. My husband who likes gamey meats said it was a bit gamey. We love their "Pick 5" and "Steak Pack" packages and have purchased multiples of them! Their smoked pork chop is also to die for! They are a little far from us (we're from Oakville) but every couple of months we would drive out and top off our meat supplies. They are also conveniently pre-packaged in vacuum sealed packs which makes meal planning very easy.
