Saturdays are really busy so was glad I decided last minute to book a table. The menu is filled with sandwiches, bagels, paninis etc and all come with soup for £5.95 which is a bargain when you see the portions. However the most popular order seemed to be the high tea for two, which at £5 per person is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, with a mix of couple, familes and quite a few grannies being treated to tea and cakes by their grandkids. The decor is nothing fancy, but the setting and welcoming staff easily makes up for it There is fabulous selection of Suki teas and homemade baking. Soups of the day this week were tomato with basil and potato and leek. Last wee I tried the curried butternut squash which was amazing! The setting is lovely and the food is well worth the 15min drive from Dennistoun. There is a garden centre and lovely views onto the loch so you could easily spend a few hours over a coffee, chatting and escaping city life. I had to go to the toilets just to get peace from all the screaming and shouting that was going on in the main part of the resteraunt! Some people were just letting their children scream without even agowledging that they were even there! This left me with sore ears because of my ear condition.To be fair their is nothing mutch the staff can do about screaming children. Itr didn't take too long for my meal to arrive. I had the Barbeque Burger which was mediocre,there was nothing special about it. The fries it came with were quite tasty though. The desert took a little longer to arrive but it was worth it! The Apple & Rasberry Crumble was delish! It was so good! It probably had tons of calories in there or something but it just seemed perfect! It was a decent sized portion too! was really quite sweet and had none of those annoying little rasberry seeds that get stuck in your teeth. Great way to finish your meal! After that it took awhile to get the waitors attention for the bill. He said that he would give us it in about 2 minutes,we waited for like 25 mins for him to remember that he was to get us the bill! I had been looking forward to ordering churros after my Croque Senor (this came out a bit burnt, and presented itself as merely a grilled sandwich slapped on a plate, not even cut through or anything...) but in all honestly, I was frightened to in case it ruined my previous love of Tinto churros. Because we were staying at the Premier Inn we got the meal deal of two courses and a drink and breakfast which did work out cheaper and to some extent lessened the impact of the 'higher than they should be' prices. The service we received was excellent with the staff being friendly but not intrusive. In line with new legislation the staff team went to great lengths to make sure gluten free items were served without contamination from allergens.

The set menu had apparently changed a little from when the booking had been made, but everything sounded delicious so that wasn't a problem. They ran a separate menu for the younger children too. I chose the tomato and mascarpone linguine, the steak (served pink with chips and peppercorn sauce) and the berry pannacotta. I was very happy with my choices although the soup of the day and the game pie also looked brilliant.
