I've used Interchange Financial about a dozen times. The first 8-9 times I used them it was fine. A…read morelittle bit slow, about 7 business days on average to get my money. But I got it and I trusted the system. When I changed my delivery method from electronic bank transfer to a wire transfer, everything fell apart. My money did not arrive for over a month for the first transaction, and because I didn't realize that this was a systematic problem with Interchange Financial, I had two more transfers held up for over 6 weeks each. The worst part, and why I'm reviewing Interchange Financial this way rather than the bank system, is that Interchange Financial did not treat this with urgency. My impression is that they did not respond in a timely manner to the banks when they was a compliance check, and so my transactions languished. If you need to wire transfer the exchange, I would highly recommend using someone else.

I am fortunate to know where this place is. I used to take Goreway Drive from my old workplace to get to highway 407, which would eventually get me home. These days, I don't use this route, but it's not completely out of my way to get there. There was parking at the back of the store. I walked in and asked if I could buy some Chinese currency. The man was polite and asked whether I had called ahead. I didn't. Apparently, it helps them prepare. He, along with another colleague, went into the vault. He managed to get me $80 CAD worth of $359 CNY. I was pleased, although I ended up with a ton of single CNY bills! I wasn't complaining. The man was nice to provide me with a white envelope. Very upset regarding inaccurate information provided by staff at Kantor Currency Exchange at 2310…read moreBloor Street West and Manager Lelyana Shevchenko's refusal to accept responsibility for the misinformation provided by staff. I am a non-Indian foreigner travelling on vacation to India. I asked the staff at Kantor if, as a foreign tourist, I could bring rupees into India. She said she thought yes, saying that Kantor frequently converts Canadian cash to rupees. Based on her advise, I completed the transaction. Before travelling, I consulted with the tour company, who were advised by the Indian Consulate, that non-nationals are not permitted to carry rupees into the country. When I advised Kantor regarding the misinformation I'd received from their staff, they refused to fully refund my money. The manager stated it was not their staff's responsibility to know or give accurate advise, and alternatively insisted that the information they'd provided was correct. The only recourse they offered was to buy back the rupees I'd purchased at a different rate which resulted in me losing a significant of money. I have previously made many purchases through Kantor, however based on this experience, I will no longer do business with them and do not recommend their services to others.

This particular client entered 30 minutes after I had been there and was escorted into the area where the tellers are . She was not an employee. I said to the staff "what am I, chopped liver". No responses were made. Shortly after another teller asked me if she could help me and I stepped forward after returning to the long line up. I asked to exchange Canadian dollars for Euros. I brought my bf with me since my math skills aren't great. One thing that I did not like was that rates were NOT posted. Not even for CAD-US, CAD-EURO, the standard stuff. As a customer, I would prefer that this was done as opposed to taking someone's word for it. Also no receipt was provided, but I don't know if this is standard procedure. I did get what I came for, however, there were no larger bills. So perhaps you may want to call ahead of time to make sure they carry the currency that you are looking for!
