We now each talk about how much clarity we have on the issue and can finally understand each other's position on it as well. Dana took the time to teach us how to effectively listen and empathize with each other during these times of conflict. She also helped us a great deal with suggestions for our young sons and other parental issues we struggled with. I have to say, with no exaggeration, that Nancy probably saved my life and helped me to be an advocate for myself. In both instances, I was working through some very traumatic and difficult times in a complex family situation and also navigating some major stressors at work. Nancy was compassionate, empathetic, skilled, and an incredibly good judge of character. She is well read, intelligent, and thoughtful in her delivery, and takes a holistic and integrative approach to helping her clients. She was flexible in scheduling me and worked with me on a sliding scale. She also got me involved in journaling and initiating a daily practice of gratitude, which was nothing short of life-changing and what I needed. I was invited to attend her writing group, a very warm and nurturing group who didn't judge me for being too nervous to share and I still benefited from hearing from others. Nancy puts you immediately at ease but can be direct and impactful, always tempered with kindness. I'm sorry I didn't continue with her when I was contemplating a big life change (a big move with someone who was not good to me). This completely (and thankfully) fell through when a member of my family became gravely ill and sadly died. What Nancy does not know today is that she helped me profoundly to tap into my own strength and sensibilities to break off this very unhealthy and toxic relationship that lasted throughout the second span of time I worked with her for good. I so wish we were still in touch, but for her I wish nothing but the absolute best. She is truly a blessing in my life and a gem of a human being and practitioner. I wanted to wait a few days before I left this review so I could clear my head. I saw Dr Tabitha…read morebecause she was close to where I live. (1) I got to the doctor at 7:45 for an 8am appt. As a new patient I assumed there would be paperwork. No one was in the office and the door was locked. When I saw the lights come on at 7:58, I tapped on the window to get into the waiting room and the receptionist hollers at me "you have to wait two minutes until we open." What? I can't sit down? When you are sitting right there to let me in? (2) I came to the doctor with a need for a urologist, a neurologist, and a therapist. I am having some female issues and I was hoping she could give me a recommendation for a urologist. She looked at a picture I had from a previous surgery by a world renown doctor and said, "You have a prolapsed bladder." Huh? I have been to many doctors, urologists, and gynecologists and none of them have ever indicated that I have a prolapsed bladder. (3) I have severe endometriosis and told her I had had an endometrial nodule in a sensitive area. She said that wasn't possible until I showed her a picture I had of my insides from the doctor. Didn't have much to say after that. (BTW, the world renowned doctor is Dr Salgado in Puerto Rico. He is a Harvard lecturer on endometriosis. (4) I don't appreciate Christian prayers being displayed in a consultation room. If those are your beliefs, that's fine, but I don't need you to put up a poster about being a good Christian business woman. (5) I asked for standard bloodwork as this was an initial visit. I also need to get the levels of some of my meds monitored. She was reluctant to run a standard A1C, Glucose, Liver, Thyroid test although the size are SOP for a new patient. She told me that if I needed blood work, she would do it "this time," but in the future I needed to contact the doctor that needs the results and get a blood test through her. Why?!? When she decided she would do the blood tests, she couldn't find the form to send with me to do the tests *sigh* I will not go to or recommend this doctor.

Nicholas Strauss is the most amazing therapist. He is articulate, intelligent and most…read moreimportantly, caring. He has treated my entire family with incredible results. His calm demeanor and his profound inner peacefulness permeates his entire being and spills over into the whole atmosphere of his state of the art offices in downtown westport. He is so intune with people on so many different levels and it's very sublte and unassuming. He is a role model for so many of the children who frequent his offices. He models the "right relationship" with correct "boundaries" during the sessions and this kind and gentle way affects and ripples into all other outside toxic relationships that his clients and patients come to him in depseration and crisis to "fix". He is a strengthener of the positive aspects of a person rather than an exposer of the weak areas of a person. I have seen the results of this in many of the clients he treats. I have met with people who have referred to themselves as therapists, ministers, pastors, and counselors. Not one of them has had the "gift" of compassion and care that Nicholas has. Instead their reviews would all get a minus 5 stars. Possibly Nicholas is just a nice person who genuinely loves people and helping them get stronger in their inner life to face the hassles of everyday life...and this in itself makes the others look weak and inefficient. I strongly encourage people to step out of their pain and uncertainty and make an appointment with Nicholas, who can truly help.
