I've made some good friends in a short period of time and not only were they helpful to me individually but I know they give back to the community with financial donations to other organizations, blood drives that have extremely good turn out, projects around the city from time to time to help other organizations and those in need, toys, coats, and clothing for the needy as well; more importantly, members with strong convictions about applying the Bible to their lives, and living it out so that others can see God working in their lives instead of themselves.

My great aunt (67 years young!) got married last year at St. Peter & Paul Church in Reading…read more She had been previously married in the church (she was widowed) and knew that it was the only place that she could have her second ceremony, as she had been attending St. Peter & Paul since she was a kid. Lois (my aunt) told me that Father Leshney, the priest that performed her marriage, could not have been more understanding of her situation. I had been to a number of baptisms at St. Peter & Paul as one whole section of my family attends the church but this was the first wedding that I can remember being at. It was beautiful and the ceremony was moving. St. Peter & Paul is a historic landmark in Reading, the church has been around for decades. It's old fashioned but stunning, in no way has the church been ruined by time. Like many Catholic parishes in Cincinnati, Peter & Paul has an affiliated grade school that goes by the same name.

Pastor Moore is no longer at this church he is now serving God in Texas, but while he was there he did make it clear to be respectful to the neighbors and to the people who live on that street. The people are warm, welcoming and friendly. The music is more modern but they don't lose their roots and still play hymns. They pray together, encourage each other, share stories constantly to keep things 'real' and relevant... without being a "Relevant" church. There have been times if something is happening they will stop what's going on to focus in on a current urgent need, like someone going to the hospital with an emergency situation, etc. They have so many things for singles, couples, youth, married, divorced, widowed, families and more. There are always opportunities to grow and be involved. The counseling ministry is solid. My husband and I did our marriage counseling here. It was honest, challenging, and encouraging,.. making us more prepared to face our next chapter as a couple. There are many small groups, ways to give back to the local community, a wide variety of classes like financial peace etc. Every summer there's a huge VBS (week long vacation bible school) for kids and I've never seen it done better. There is a great school through 8th grade as well. Through life, birth, celebration, death, brokeness, healing, this church (including pastor) is there to be real and to live life with each other if you want it. You can come and go as you please. Nothing is forced but offered with open arms. As with any church it is what you make it, but if you want a family you have one waiting for you here, through the good and the bad.

They offer several services on Sunday, including an evening service, to accommodate those who have trouble getting up in the morning. Lifespring also offers many different children's programs and Sunday School classes if you're interesting in getting involved more at the church. My wife and I briefly attended a young-marrieds class that was informative. All in all, Lifespring is a good church to check out if you live in North College Hill or Finneytown.
