They have an outdoor play space only accessible through the school and the teachers are wonderful. We get lots of photos everyday on a parent app and a daily update on eating and potty training. We love the other parents in the program. My son was very underweight before starting and was not very verbal. We did speech therapy for awhile but it was school that made a massive difference. Since starting school full time, he's become a great eater and his speech has improved drastically.

When closed, they only give 15 minute zoom classes where most of the time they put a video of someone reading a story, rather than reading it themselves and engaging the kids with questions. There is a ridiculous amount of closure days and these are not reduced due to pandemic closures (not even the parent teacher conference day). They have very strict drop off guidelines, if you are a few minutes late you could be waiting outside for about 10-14 minutes even at below zero temperatures. The teachers are extremely nice but the place is very poorly run. i have never had such a bad experience with a daycare center.

Lyceum Kennedy French American School has a selective approach and a discriminative attitude…read moretowards the students. The school's activity is so slow that they have only 1 class per grade as there are not enough students who want to study there. Sometimes the teacher misses the classes, and instead of having 6 classes in row, once students had only 3, because the teacher was absent for 3 of them and weren't warned about it. The school provides paid lunch, the quality of which is very poor, thus students have to carry the lunch with them, as they refuse to eat it. The teachers allow themselves intolerant remarks about students' religion, my child had this unpleasant occasion and nobody has had taken any action to prevent it neither to explain that it's not right nor excused themselves. My child was in middle school for 2 years, because of the selective approach and discriminative attitude to my child I decided to change this school. I expressed all my concerns in written version to the school, and as a response, the head of school found it appropriate only to mention that it was unnecessary to write it to the Embassy of France in Washington and ignored the issues about religious discrimination and on unfair approach to my child in this school.

They are very gentle, genuine, personable, fun and care very much for the individual needs of each child. The staff is very good about keeping the facility clean as well. There are many activities that the children are involved in to prepare and contribute to their success in the future (ie. Spanish Class). The PTO is great and very on top of things. As for the teachers, I can only speak about our experience with 3rd grade and Mrs. Royston. She keeps up with the differentiated learning of each student in her class and she is great about making sure the kids are maintaining appropriate responsibilities for their age (8/9 y/o). I am personally amazed at the ways the kids are learning to use technology now. Overall, I am quite happy to be a part of this school.
