The camp was $300 and could care less about their students and families. We signed up for a teen advanced (magma camp). They did not honor their online advertisement! Terrible!!!!!!!!! As we were starting our adventure within 5 minutes of being on the course, this particular guide began yelling at me in front of the entire group that I was not using the hooks properly and if I did it again I would be asked to leave the course, she then proceeded to yell at my son and tell him"it would have been really nice if you would have listened to what I was saying in the beginning" ( he's 5 and was having a hard time opening the hooks and attaching them to the cable) She said it again and again and blamed us for holding back the group. While we were frantically trying to get through the course because apparently we were holding the entire group back, we overheard her saying " what is wrong with these people and it's their fault that we are behind!" We never said a word because we were really trying to enjoy the course and not let this women ruin it. All of a sudden she tells us to get down because our time is up ( we were supposed to have 2 1/2 hours to finish this course and we still had an hour left) so we went up to her and said " we don't understand why we can't finish?" She proceeded to tell us that we were cutting into her break time and our time was done! She then looked at her watch and said " oh I have the time wrong" okay you can finish. We finished with lots of time left over, and never got an apology from her. She was plain and simple picking on us the entire time. It is a beautiful course and would have loved every minute of it if we were treated decently.

For first timers wanting to climb the rope routes, they have to come with a partner and take a free introductory belaying course. The staff are incredibly helpful and pleasant to train with. For people wanting to pay a little less and avoid rope routes, they can opt for the bouldering routes scattered throughout the gym. My favourite is this cave like area, even if I'm usually not experienced enough to get through its routes. This isn't just a place for adults to get fit or hang out with friends. I actually see a lot of young children with their parents. I think rock climbing is an excellent activity that kids naturally take to and it also helps develop their confidence, fitness, problem solving skills and trust of their parents if they're belaying on the roped routes. The prices are fairly high if you only go casually and have no gear. The day pass is $12 + $7 for full equipment rental. However, if you go often, the membership prices are: 1 Month Membership $65 3 Month Membership $175 6 Month Membership $300 12 Month Membership $450 The location is a hassle to get to if you travel by bus.

Le paysage est à couper le souffle de la haut avec les montagnes, le bois et la ville tout en un! J'y retournerais sans hésiter. (Bien sur, avec un guide! We stopped by Meech Lake which looked like a lovely spot for kayaking. Fall colors were starting to appear in mid September. There are many trails described as varying levels of difficulty and varying lengths and so would be a wonderful spot for hiking!

I always pick a different trail and hike for about 4 hours. It's wonderful to see people of all ages enjoying themselves. There was a notebook where people from all around the world could write into which was amazing!!! Recommendation: read about the trail first. A few spots are quite elevated and may be difficult for some people.

Ice skate rental and sharpening is available during certain hours. Admission is free. A BeaverTails Pastry shop hawks freshly made fried dough with an option of toppings (I highly recommend the maple spread for $5.75), and a short menu of beverages. They are closed Mondays & Tuesdays, open 4pm-10pm Wed - Fri, and noon - 10pm on weekends. Cash only. The ice is not the best (even after a run through by the zamboni), but it is a good sized rink, it is free, and the surroundings is pleasant enough. When it gets dark, they even light up the rink in pretty changing colors. Totally makes for a fun wintertime activity. My only warning is that I found it a bit dangerous making my way down to the rink from the changing structure with my skate shod feet - the ground wasn't level so I kept finding myself slipping on the snow crusted surface. I tried walking sideways, perpendicular to gravity as they teach you for skiing, and it kind of worked... though not completely. Need a bathroom? The City Hall is available with its facilities and you can warm up inside a bit while checking out their small art galleries - but no skates (on feet) allowed! The Peace Tower and the towers blaze with coloured spotlights. - Confederation Park, where nearly every tree is lit up. - Brillant blue lights around the National War Monument. - Chateau Laurier - Convention Centre - Lord Elgin Hotel The 5-year old in me, delights in the LED lit boards.
