I DO not recommend this place! They are very old fashioned, some of the hair stylists there need a refresher on what's current or how to color/bleach hair. This isn't about the outcome of my hair color (I know that's a chemical thing). I'm talking about the techniques and how they applied the bleach. They left streaks in my hair and spots where my hair was supposed to be bleached. You can tell there was skipping when they painted on the bleach in my hair. I'm so upset, I had to waste $200 afterwards and get it redone somewhere else to fix the mess this place created! It was so embarrassing! They curl/wave your hair at the end so you can't see the mistakes they know they probably had done, until you go home and wash your hair out. Also, got a haircut and the lady forgot to cut a section off evenly. I noticed it on my vacation the next day and had to buy a pair of scissors and do it myself. Unacceptable! read more

This is a large day spa type place, hair, nails, waxing, perhaps even massage, I'm not sure. I arrived without an appointment but I was able to get in. I do think you will be better off with an appointment here though. It's a very typical ladies spa. Come get your hair colored and cut, be sent off with a nice blow out. Get your nails done weekly and you will become "one of the family" quickly. Have your toes done with your girlfriends and everyone will be part of the conversation. I had a pedicure. It was fine. But for $47 (with tax, not including tip), I expect a great pedi. And dryers, which they don't have. I was surprised by that, I thought all nail places have finger and toenail dryers. It's really hard to find a good hair lady. It never comes out the way you want it to or they just aren't very friendly. I was fortunate to find Magen because she married my brother and boy was I lucky. I was hesitant to go to her at first because she was family but I'm so glad that I did. Magen is up to date on all the latest trends which is exceptional for me since I hardly know how to comb my hair. She helps me with making the style easy so I can maintain it myself. Magen is the best hair stylist I've ever had. I don't know how many years it has been since she came into mine and my hair's life but I have never let another person touch my hair since. It has never mattered what I've asked her to do, color, cut or style she was up for the task (with my hair it's always a task) and it always turned out better than I could've even imagined. When I say she's the best it's not an exaggeration. On top of being a great professional she has made me so comfortable personally. I can not recommend Magen enough! She is an amazing hair stylist and she also waxes my brows regularly! After years of trying different salons and stylists to just get my hair trimmed and to be judged by many stylists over the years, one day now maybe about 9-10 years ago I finally found Magen! She didn't judge me at all and gave me a trim the first time. Since then she has worked with me and got me on a every 2 month schedule to keep my hair healthy. Now that I'm older she finds the perfect color to cover up the greys! From warm color in the winter to some highlights she picks the color out perfectly. My stylist, Magen Carrow is moving to Montage West. I followed to her East Amherst and I will absolutely follow her back to Montage West. I am thrilled Magen is going home. I consider Montage her home. I first met her there about 10 years ago. It had another name and a different owner. Magen is terrific with hair color. Her cuts are second to none. She took me under her wing many years ago, my hair was frizzy and about 2 inches long. I say this with all honesty, I have never looked better. I love how many times Magen has save me from myself. She will listen to her clients, than explain why that may not work, and work her magic. It was a big deal for me to go to East Amherst. I complained about, but I knew if I wanted my hair to look good I had to follow. Some of the staff are still at this location and I must say, the staff that remains are terrific. I was gifted a mani/pedi Groupon to this salon. The salon is clean, well kept and the people are friendly. It wasn't anything special. I got gel on my fingers. It wasn't a great manicure and it didn't last as long as my gel usually does. She didn't clip around my cuticles so the gel polish peeled up within a week. I'd say my experience was mediocre. If you are looking for the perfect stylist, I highly recommend Magen. She's the best! My hair is unruly, generally frizzy, and hard to style. MAGEN IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She has been my hairdresser for a couple years now and the transformation that she has made in my hair is crazy! Over the years, I have continuously experimented with with dyes, bad haircuts, horrible cheap shampoos, overheating my hair with straighteners, you name it, I've done it. All this has done was completely fry my hair. Magen took me under her wing and completely transformed my hair to something I am so happy with! I continuously get compliments on my hair color. The transformation from the before to now pictures you wouldn't believe! I never found a hairdresser that did hair color so well while still managing to keep my hair so healthy! I found this salon on a whim last fall. I was looking for a salon that I could get my brows dyed and waxed. It was very difficult to find some place because I don't dye my hair. I was scheduled with Stephanie who did the waxing after another woman had dyed them. (She is no linger with them). Stephanie took her time, measured and made suggestions based on the shape of my face. What a wonderful job she did. After several visits I was in need of a hair cut so I thought I would give it a try there. Megan was the stylist that was dying my brows so it only made sense to have her cut my hair. Wow what a fantastic job! She even did a great joy styling it. I have had her cut my hair 3 or 4 times now and if she were to ever leave I would follow. She is dedicated to her career and takes much pride in her work. If pondering if this is the place for you.....ponder no more. I have observed the other stylists and they all seem to do great work. I was able to schedule a massage on short notice (2 hours before) with Ruby. I have gotten a lot of massages in my day and RUBY is one of the BEST I've ever had. She communicates with you, asking if the pressure is good. She's very attentive to trouble spots and is very well in-tuned with the body. Her technique is very precise and thorough. The big bonus was that i scheduled an hour massage but she went way over! I had no idea until i got into my car and noticed the time. I will be going back as a regular. read more
