Totally dishonest and unprofessional! Will take a deposit and then claim he never took it! Drive hundreds of miles if needed to go elsewhere

Erik Erickson I…read moredont want to be this person, but you need to stop you taxidermist "job" I have NEVER been so disappointed in a person in my life. Everyone meet Erik Erickson from Fromberg. Quick story, I gave him my Mule deer hide (ALREADY TANNED), and horns in April of 2025. He said he would have it done in July. Today is 10/23/2025. After numerous months of lies, excuses, and one thing after another I finally got to pick it up. Here's the end result. He claims it has been done since September 28th ish. I think he finished it last night. Let me tell you the problems... The hide is SOAKING WET. STILL. The board underneath is wet. Didn't even trim correctly on the back to pin to the board, so there is way to much skin stapled together on the board. Threads are all over the place and very visible. Hair is already falling out. Pins in his chin, ears, and by horns. Clay? In one ear, still very wet and mushy Ears are wobbly like dumbo Bottom lip is off center Eyes are 2 different sizes? Like I can see the form in one of the eye creases. The sewing job is so bad that there are literal bumps from bunched up skin going all the way down the back. Idk if the hide will even be salvagable because like I said its still wet and he bunched lots off loose skin together that wasn't dry. (No pictures for that its hard to tell) I had people recommend him to me!? He claims he does the mounts in Scheels under the name Pro Image Taxidermy. Ehhhhh... Now I know yes, I should have done better research, but frankly I didn't. This is a man that had 8 months to take an already tanned hide, and mount it. Its wet, smelly, and frankly sucks ass. I was genuinely worried I wasn't going to get it back. This post is a warning to people, DO NOT USE ERIK ERICKSON for your mounts. Ever. He lied, probably ruined my hide on my biggest mule deer I've ever harvested, and frankly made me lose trust in people. PLEASE BE AWARE. Do your research! Don't be like me! I have numerous texts all the way back to April proving how often he either ignored me for days or weeks or even months, and excuses he made to me about not being able to pick it up.

Similar to others, I was told my shoulder mount deer would be done with a timeframe and it…read morestretched out longer and longer. When I finally got my deer, it wasn't a shoulder mount as we had discussed and written down on his order form. I received a neck mount, that was wet (clearly not done) and had metal wire net still attached to try to keep the fur in place while it dried. It wasn't painted or anything near complete. Complete waste of money and he didn't offer any kind of refund. He kept my payment and the deposit I had put for an antelope. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Go to Purcells.
