I stayed here for one week, and the longer I stayed the more I liked this hotel, a sanctuary of…read moreserenity in the middle of the city, convenient to everything. Pool, expansive gardens, restaurant and bar were pretty close to perfect. Look, it's not a 5 star American styled hotel; this is Mexico and the lovely but slightly worn patina just confirms this is an authentic Oaxacan establishment that doesn't necessarily cater to Americans.
The food is truly outstanding, the water is purified, and the service is wonderful. Most importantly, it's clean and there is reliable free WiFi throughout the property. It's a five minute, $2.50 cab ride to the Zocolo, or a nice 15 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as ATMs, pharmacys, bus station and cafes. All good, all very safe.
