The women who work here are very pleasant, thank goodness. It definitely helped to settle the nerves. Vicki, the exam proctor, was so kind and sweet! It was such a pleasure interacting with her. She was very professional and explained the security protocol, all while maintaining compassion for the test-takers, who were at a heightened level of stress. There were only 6 seats at this Prometric Center, and only 4 filled last Thursday, Jan 19: 3 seats for the MCAT, 1 for the GRE. I think I liked that it was so small; there wasn't a long wait to check-in or re-enter after breaks, or a whole lot of noise from the other test-takers, which were precautions mentioned in pre-med forums to help exam takers anticipate any testing center woes. In addition, there were no technological or climate issues inside, which was warm (a lot of slushy roads outside though, from the snow). The restrooms were outside the actual testing center (although still inside the building), in a hallway shared with other businesses in the building. The 10 minute breaks in between sections of the exam were just long enough to get over the restroom and back in time to take a few bites from a snack, a couple sips of water, and go through the security check to re-enter the testing area. Overall, I'd recommend this spot for anyone who is considering this location to take a proctored exam. (This review is the same as the one I posted for Sylvan Learning Center.)

A Much Improved Experience…read more I want to update my previous review because Central Oregon Community College has made some real improvements. A while back, I had a frustrating experience with their mailroom my package sat untouched for a week, and communication felt nonexistent. Thankfully, things have changed. Recently, the staff has been far more responsive and helpful. Packages are processed quickly, and it's clear that the team is paying attention and taking their responsibilities seriously. Whatever changes they've made behind the scenes are working, and I appreciate the effort. I'm happy to say COCC has come a long way, and my experience now reflects a much more reliable and well‑run operation.

What's not to love about this school right in one of the best locations in Oregon? I love to visit…read moremy son here! There's so much to do and see from skiing, mountain biking, road biking, river rafting, climbing, hiking, and checking out the great variety of terrain. The views of the mountains and the high desert makes the time spent here worth the drive from California (aside from my being with my son!). Consumer prices are a bit lower than in the Bay Area where I live, so that's a bonus. There are many new hotels and lovely bed & breakfasts in Bend. Lots of trendy restaurants to test as well! One summer day I enjoyed tastings from several restaurants which had set up tents along the Deschutes River. There was live music and plenty of friendly people, although not nearly the large crowds I'm used to. The next day I attended a Beer Festival featuring over 40 micro breweries in the area. This event was held at the new outdoor amphitheater and also featured live music. Many, many people travelled to this event on their bicycles, which were locked up to the surrounding fences. A really cool, mellow atmosphere alongside the river banks.

I just bought my 4th machine from Cynthia's (a simple one to teach my grandchildren how to sew, a…read moreserger, top of the line embroidery plus sewing machine, and then a replacement that came out years later that was even better for the embroidery/sewing. I tend to wait months between projects, and then forget some of the steps. Bill (who knows everything about each machine plus which customer purchased which machine, he's amazing!) and the rest of the staff are always patient and helpful. I first came to Bend with a complicated machine that I purchased elsewhere. The quilting shop in Bend wouldn't answer any of my questions because I didn't buy it from their shop. Plus, the staff wasn't familiar with the machines that the quilt shop sold, they had someone whose job was to explain and sell the brand, but she only came in on Thursdays! I am more than grateful of the staff at Cynthia's because of my experience at the other store!
