There's something supremely comforting about being able to count on your your local Thai restaurant. Knowing the dishes will be quick, fresh and tasty. Sure, it won't be Longrain (unless you're lucky enough to have that as your local!), but the flavours will be familiar and after a long day, it'll be just what the doctor ordered.
Montein hits all the (anglicised) Thai notes: there are curry puffs ($7.50 though not my preferred vegetarian variety), Chicken and Cashews ($14.90), Massamun Beef ($14.90) and Basil Chili flat noodles ($13.90). The salt & pepper squid ($21.90) was moorishly good, but went a bit soft in the take away container.
They offer free home delivery in the area, but if you pick up they'll knock off 10%. Or if you fancy eating in, they allow BYO wine, which is a nice touch. read more
