Monti's and Montgomery Village both had a refresh. The restaurant has a cute dedicated outdoor space with heat lamps over or by each table. The Christmas tree in the outdoor space gets you in the cozy holiday mood. Standouts from the last two times I came here: little neck clams and lemon tagliatelle with Dungeness crab. Only complaint was the tagliatelle had three clumps where the pasta was stuck together. That was annoying but I liked the flavor enough to keep going without raising an issue. The acid in the lemon and the small kick in the chili made me go back for more bites even after I was full. Mussels, salads, salmon, steak, raw oysters, and date cake (sticky toffee pudding) were all right. Steak was a little sinewy but cooked to the right requested temp of medium rare. The date cake... I think Goose & Fern has a much better one, but that's a pub and a totally different vibe. Service is a little uneven. It was great one time and then this most recently time, we were served by 4 different people, each with different temperaments. I do think the hostess(es? maybe one was a manager?) could be kinder about acknowledging customers that come in (it was just our party and one other party standing there). Other random observations - you get free bread and butter. It's not a given these days so that was nice. On the other hand, there is a 2% back of house charge. Overall, I would keep coming back. I think there are small improvements that would make it great. That said, it's a cute dining and shopping area with comfortable seating and the right vibe for either date night or a get together. It has a lot of options on the menu, so there's something for everyone.

We had to wait 30 min even though plenty of set empty tables.

We've been coming to Monti's for more than a decade. I've never had such a terrible experience and treatment by staff. We had reservations for two and were 30 min early. They insisted that we wait even though there were empty tables. They then proceeded to seat a walk in couple. I asked if we could be seated and was met by both the hostess and manager with brusqueness. The service was also sorely lacking. We were not greeted and had to ask for dirty dishes to be removed. Food was average.I'd suggest the staff be trained on service and hospitality.

Beautiful renovation, relaxed atmosphere, and chill vibe music. Great indoor space, luxurious, and outdoor, which can get loud. One thing that automatically gets a star in my book is how clear and presentable GF options are on the menu, which makes it easy to order and staff is aware. Got a few appetizers that we couldn't stop raving about. Main course presentation and flavor were not up to par, slightly declining. Not my favorite Starks chain but nice to pop in once in a while.

We've been working our way through the Stark restaurants and finally got to Monti's for an early Saturday dinner. Restaurant is tucked in an unassuming strip mall, but has a nice outdoor section and good lighting and comfy seats. Drinks were delicious, I had the chai spiced resting bourbon face. Standouts for the table were the Humboldt cheese à la plancha, the amazing black cod and the homey butter beans. We split a bourbon sauced date cake which was so fluffy and moist. Service was fast and attentive, and they also let us talk forever after our meal and we didn't feel rushed. The only thing we didn't love was the eggplant pizza, the eggplant being a little undercooked, but the rest of the meal was just delicious.

This place does what it does well. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, unique offerings. My friend and I were shopping in Montgomery Village and wanted a cocktail so Monti's to the rescue. We paired our drinks with a shared Monte Cristo because... why not? First off, my cocktail was one of the better ones I've had in a long time. The balance of watermelon and chilies was artful. Delicious and hit the spot! We shared a Monte Cristo and each bite was perfect. I appreciated the house made bread and butter pickle and pepper. Like the cocktail, the balance of sweet and savory seemed very well done. All told, I spent $32 (with tip) for half of a sandwich and a cocktail so a little on the pricey side BUT I left completely content! :)

This place was cute! My Mom and I came here for lunch yesterday and we got the calamari which was delicious. Then we got the hibis-kiss drinks which were super yummy and light. Then my Mom got the minestrone soup which was their soup of the day. I got their chicken quinoa kale salad which was FIRE! I would highly recommend. Overall I would totally come back here next time I'm in town. Oh the service was really good too! Very attentive, checked in regularly and the food came SO fast!

We keep coming back because the food, service and ambiance are great. Our server Josh was excellent with a sense of humor which made the whole dinning experience fun. I always get the warm spinach salad with rock shrimp because I can't find it anywhere else and it's amazing. We also got their loaded fries with blue cheese and rosemary which sounded and tasted great but by the end we thought we'd just get the regular fries. Everyone loved their burgers and warm sourdough bread.

Overall, great place, good service, relaxed atmosphere and locals favorite . The server -Damien, was swift, made good recommendations and very polite and professional at the same time

Lemon olive oil cake with strawberries and crème fraîche cream

Beautifully elegant indoors and out. Loved the burrata plate with the fresh flat bread, olive spread and preserved lemons and peppers. Even enjoyed some of the spinach but then the oysters and pizza came out and we were done. Hardly noticed the staff but they seemed to ease in at the right times like real professionals.

Another fabulous experience. Summer early lunch with friends, enjoying: GF Burrata Cheese, tender Short Rib Agnolotti, crispy fries, and refreshing Aperol Spritz. The welcoming vibe and charming patio dining created a welcoming setting for our get-together, complemented by fabulous service. Love seeing Montgomery village busy and alive and Monti's provides a relaxed and flavorful midday escape to enjoy it all;).

It was a very cold evening the day before Thanksgiving. We sat outside, but with the heater lamp and a wrap I felt comfortable. It was a busy night, however, the customer service was very good. There were five in our group and everybody really enjoyed their meals. I had the black cod, which was excellent. The flavors were right on point and the dish was beautifully plated. My BF had the lamb loin, which he said was the best ever. I had a taste of it and also it was excellent. It had a nice char to it and was cooked perfectly.

Was recommended Monti's when I was in the area for work. Had to make a reservation ahead of time just in case they got too busy, and I'm glad I did because there was a line waiting out the door by noon on a Monday. They have a lot of solid options on their menu, but I ended up ordering the roasted salmon that came with a small cous cous and arugula salad and a light, whipped, creamy sauce to pair with it. The salmon was so juicy and flavorful, easily falling apart with minimal chewing. I do think the portion was pretty small considering the price point ($32) and I was still a bit hungry after finishing the entree. They did serve warm bread and butter which was a nice touch. Service was attentive and friendly and the ambiance of the entire restaurant was very nice, clean, and open. It also sounds like they had a recent renovation, making it a beautiful space to dine and hang out with friends and family. Glad I was able to give them a try and would come back if I'm in the area again.

Our first time back to Montis after they renovated and we loved what they did with the place. They have a few u shaped booths, a high top communal table and 4 tops along with outside seating. Food and drinks were good! Got their clam pizza, side of mushrooms, Lemon Tagliatelle, roasted cauliflower, mushroom pizza, salmon, piccata black cod, and steak. I like the mushroom pizza over the clam. The sides of mushroom and cauliflower is a must! Only hiccup was when we changed tables I guess we got a new server but I'm not sure that was communicated between the servers. Luckily the manager noticed that we were sitting for a while without our orders taken and she took care of it and checked on us frequently throughout the meal. Overall meal was nice. Would go back again. Browning points for having a high chair. Overall 4.35 stars

From the moment I walked in, good vibes all around. Julie is serving me at the bar and she is on point. I started with a glass of Vermentino and the Insalata Della Casa. How many house salads come with artichokes and pickled onions these days? It was light and refreshing. Moving on to the pasta course. I ordered the Scarpariello and it was surprisingly light for a pasta dish, and loaded with flavor. Yellow and red baby tomato sauce with fresh basil, Calabria chili and pecorino. I wanted a glass of red to accompany the dish and was contemplating a Primitivo. When I mentioned this to Julie, she offered an off list Primitivo without the jammy punch. It was nice, she was on to what I was trying to achieve. I ended up with a Sangiovese and my dignity. All around a great experience and I didn't feel like I was mugged after paying the bill. I really appreciate a good glass of wine for $12-15. I am exhausted by paying $20 for mediocre wine in wine country. Thank you Julie and company for appreciating your cliente. But I'm honestly not joking when I say I prefer Pizza Leah to anything I had there. I don't understand how they get the crust like this. It's perfectly chewy and just cooked exactly right. Usually I like the crust but don't love it. Here, I actually do love it. I've been here at least 15 times and I've tried pretty much everything on the menu. My two favorites are the Roo's and the Po-Tay-To. I love how the place is laid out. You can see into the kitchen, and the eating area is exactly what I think a pizza place should look like. It just feels comfortable. One time on my birthday, my wife picked up the pizza and didn't realize that they gave her the wrong one until she got home. She called and went back to get the right one, and when she got there they had forgotten to remake it, so she had to wait. She was honestly pretty mad at that point after making two trips, which I don't blame her for at all. But they were so apologetic that they ended up giving us the pizza for free, and that honestly made up for everything and turned it into a really nice surprise. She got over it pretty quickly after that. Funny enough, it worked out as two trips for two pizzas, and my birthday is 2/2. Now whenever I eat pizza anywhere else, I end up comparing it to Pizza Leah. Other places have good pizza, but this one just checks every single box for me. It just is the perfect pizza for me.

The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).

I got a half and half of the bear cub and the fountain grove. Starting with the dough - it was quite bland and odd texture. Not quite crispy, not quite chewy either - a weird in between. Perhaps the dough hydration was a little too low? The sauce - well seasoned, good ratio of cheese to sauce. If anything, maybe a little on the sweet side. The cheese - good ratio, no notes here. the bear cub - good amount of pep applied on the pizza, no cupping action, but tasted fine. Doesn't taste like anything special, but holds its own here. The fountain grove - unfortunately quite a disappointment. Starting off, it was very salty. Maybe from the sausage or salami? I personally still don't understand the craze with piling on ingredients just to have them in California. I've seen it happen so often, and it always falls short of a cohesive pizza, and this one is the same story. Each bite it took just kind of tasted like an amalgamation of random ingredients, there was nothing complementing one another. Overall, a 2/5 pizza. Their employees are very friendly and seemed to have good service. My personal pizza tastes may disagree with others, but I hope there is some room for adjustment or improvement.

On most recent visit we had their Garden Salad and Chicken Parmigiana. Both the salad and the pasta were great! We loved the use of the three-bean salad in the Garden Salad. The Chicken parm was fresh, crispy, and the sauce was wonderfully tangy and fresh tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the friendly service. We plan on making an effort to visit more often! Previous review: Only been by here a few times, as it is at the farthest end of town from where I live... That said, every time I have come, I have had great food and service. The fresh wood-oven pizzas are tasty - it is hard to beat a real wood-oven pizza. I have to say their smashburger is one of the best I have had (fries are pretty solid too!). They have a full bar, and good selection of beers and wines - so there is something for nearly everyone here. They get the basics here right - and the overall experience is pretty solid.

They have a fun selection of pizza toppings and other foods. The guys working there were friendly and helpful in making choices. We sat inside at one of the booths and enjoyed watching football in their TV. My only complaint was that it was kind of cold since they kept the front door open and it was a foggy day. We started with some wings with their mango habanero sauce. The wings were good and I really liked the sauce. I wish they could have been a little crispier, but they did the job. We had a split pizza. We did the Stormy, which was a BBQ chicken pizza. The other half was their Mac and cheese pizza. The BBQ chicken was really good. Sadly, the Mac and cheese was just not that flavorful. I probably would try something else next time. Gio's feels like a decent neighborhood pizza joint. If I lived in the area I would probably order from them pretty often, especially that BBQ chicken pizza!

Now I get the fun task of disputing this issue with the merchant, and likely my bank! Stay far away! So unscrupulous and disrespectful! I have never experienced something this brazen at a restaurant.
