Awesome place! Super friendly! Great drinks and better cigars great ventilation! Love the sound systems

I have been going to this cigar lounge for years but for the last 2 maybe 3 years during the fall and winter months there has been numerous car break-ins and shootings. The unfortunate thing about this is the owners have not made any improvements to resolve the problem and what's even more unfortunate the members that pay monthly and yearly memberships there are like a big family. This lounge is and WAS the modern day "Cheers" so as of today my family and friends will not be going back until we see some type of change!!! read more

I LOVE this place! It was one of the first places my fam took me when I moved back to the Lou. The staff is so cool and friendly! Pours are always generous, and when you're here, you feel like family! Thursdays are like a house party, and though I LOVE my neighborhood, and usually live/play there, this is one of the only places I will drive to to have a good time!!! read more

Was in town for the weekend and wanted to meet up with a college friend. He suggested a cigar bar and naturally I went to Yelp to check out the reviews before saying yes or no. Thankfully the reviews, per usual, held true. Montrey's has a welcoming vibe as soon as you open the front door. There was a guy signing reggae and playing a keyboard near the entrance. The vast bar selection greets you next. We arrived well into the night so there weren't too many people inside, most of whom were seated at the bar. The back porch was full, which is a great option to have at a cigar bar - as a lot of people often opt not to go due to the smell permeating their clothes. We entered the humidor, made our cigar selections and made our way to the bar for drinks. The bartender was helpful and friendly. After getting that taken care of we decided to sit at a patio table out back. The bartender came by to check if we needed more drinks. Another came by later to let us know last call was approaching. The only knock I could find was that they didn't have lighters for us to use, but instead gave us books of matches. If that's enough of a slight in your opinion, then so be it; but it wasn't a big deal to me. Whenever I'm back in the area, I'll be back again. read more

One of my favorite places to chill. Wait staff is excellent and you will not be disappointed with your beverage selection. A nice homey feel and you're always made to feel welcome. However, lately there has been a HUGE issue of cars being broken into. Ownership has been notified and needs to foot the bill for some security if people are going to continue to patronize. read more

First time here and we will definitely make this a regular visit spot to hang out. Cozy, quiet, neat set up and friendly staff. Only downfall is small parking lot, obviously it was the backyard as this was once a house. Memberships are offered at different price levels which seem to be reasonable for what's included. Mature crowd, live music, extensive drink menu and a few food items make it even better. Great job on the layout, rehab and excellent venting system Montrey's. read more

This is one of my favorite places in all of St. Louis. If you like cigars and good drinks there is no better place. And I personally would put it above those exclusive member clubs around town that I have had the good fortune to visit as a guest. They have a solid cigar selection with an unrivaled liquor array, ridiculously good service and an atmosphere that is just perfect for this kind of activity. And the diversity of people you will find here, interacting with one another and enjoying the same things is inspiring. The new place on florisant rd. tried it out one night after getting a recommendation from a bartender at marleys. For being a cigar bar it was not smoky nor stunk of cigars. There was a nice selection of cigars and quite a few craft beers. I like the fact that they had a beer from what seemed like every craft brewery in st Louis. read more

I was looking for a cigar lounge to stop in at on my way from Berkeley to St Louis and luckily came across Montrey's from other reviews. Because it is a converted house, they have a great variety of seating, with a bar facing 4 TVs backed up by the main area with simple but comfortable tables and chairs inside, a cozy attic space upstairs with some leather couches and table seating that looks out over the main area, a front porch area, and a covered rear deck as well. The humidor is small, as noted, but really hits the high points for most cigar lovers, with good sticks from most major labels represented (Upmann, Padron, Rocky Patel, CAO) and the boxes have color coded pricing labels for the strength of the cigars for novices to make a selection as well. Their bourbon and scotch selection is excellent, including a limited edition Glenfidditch aged in IPA barrels when I stopped in. They also have happy hour from 4-6p. I'll be back! read more

I enjoyed the atmosphere even though I don't smoke. I do drink and not only is the alcohol selection vast and unique but the bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive. What a great find. Only in great places like this does one feel at home. I was traveling thru St. Louis and had a few hours to kill and found this place. I was not only welcomed by the gentleman running the bar, but also many of the locals. Selection of cigars was more than sufficient and kept me happy for a couple of hours. The only thing that could have topped it off would be some comfy lounge seats, but that surely did not ruin my visit. Great whiskey bar in the heart of Ferguson. I'm not one for cigars, but a friend's birthday party brought me out. I was floored by the whiskey selection -- great array of bourbons, ryes, Irishes, Scotches, Japanese, and non-whiskey spirits. Phenomenal prices, and the service was friendly and prompt. As for setting, the indoor lounge is smoky, as you might expect. For folks in search of less smoky surroundings, the outdoor patio area offers welcome refuge. They have a fire pit going on colder evenings, which makes for a solid lounge space -- it felt like spending time in a friend's backyard. I plan on coming back, and I will likely make Montrey's one of my go-to whiskey spots in the STL region. read more

I've been a customer of Montrey's Cigar Lounge for about a year. My favorite place to chill out and have a cigar and a drink, watch sports (never too loud for conversation) and make new friends. Montrey's has about 50 beers and I'll guess at least that many varieties of whisky/scotch/bourbon. They have a walk in humidor but they are fine with bringing your own. The bar staff is helpful and more than friendly. Try their house-made barrel-aged Manhattans, one of the best drink I've ever had! Honestly can't think of any negatives about the place. Montrey's is in Ferguson, but it's only 11 minutes from my in University City and well worth the drive. Excellent and rare venue to enjoy a cigar. Yelp need to add a "6" for this place! read more

Who could ask for more? Fine cigar selection along with a hefty variety of beer, scotch, and bourbons. A young vibe but more seasoned individuals will be quite comfortable. My friends and I decided to try the new place in Ferguson the other day. Very disappointed. Not much going on and very expensive. Now I am not a cigar smoker, but it really smelled bad in there. And when we got ready to leave, a couple drinks were mysteriously added to our tab. So if you go there, make sure to check your tab before you pay it. But I won't be back. Horrible customer service!!! I came in from Tampa FL home of the infamous cigars... we came in late and it was shared on five different occasions that they already made last call. We could look at the cigars through the glass but if we wanted to purchase a cigar we had to "get it and smoke outside of here" all the while the bar is full of customers drinking and smoking! Customer service is everything and it doesn't exist here! Can't wait to post the video of the bartender attack..Please beware! read more
